Wow!!! Magical. It's 5:30am here in Melbourne Australia. Thanks Noel for a great start to the day. I'm only intermediate, but this will keep me occupied for ages.
hi, Noel it's me Jiwon, not sure if you remember. your stuff is enlightened to me as always. Currently, I am working Kapustin tunes with a piano guy and that chord progression reminds me of Kapustin's etude works.
Sensei last night me and lady where at Buffalo Wild Wings and we were curious who was the first composer to start really chromatic in bass?🎉 She said Beethoven I said the Beatles or Zep! 🎉
Oh! That! That’s a lick I stole verbatim from Bach. It’s in E Harmonic minor and it outlines an A° Em B7 and Am (a lot of spread out voicings in various inversions).
Wow 😮 that's beutiful. I need to sit down and rehearse all you are doing here. Question for all you knowledgeable people on this channel: How would you go about improvising over this jord change ua-cam.com/video/_xn4lxOhpSs/v-deo.htmlsi=gwUavlCW_ZSymiaY Any and all help is much appreciated.
Studying inversions really unlocks alot about the guitar. For me happened when mapping the Fm7#5 drop2 voicing and realizing "oh that's the classic Ebsus9 voicing, cool that's also Absus6... Oh all of that is simply an C# major triad add 9?"
@@nohjoh08 Having looked at lots of devices I was beginning to settle on getting a Boss Looper. I may go for something more basic than the RC-300 ie the RC-5 to begin with. Many thanks for helping me to make a decision.
Just drops an atomic knowledge-bomb on us...then, "Kthxbye". Eccentric genius. Best music education channel ever. Thanks so much, Noel.

Noel, that works for the first chords in My Funny Valentine. I use something like that all the time.... cool stuff.

The lightbulb went OFF?
At the end of the video; i dont get what you're playing. Is it just triads, inversion or am I missing something?
Are you referring to the soloing or the chords?
@@nohjoh08 the soloing at 6:03 where you say "pure harmonic minor". You're just playing wide triads? How would you go about practicing these?
