The first Randy Travis song I ever heard on the radio!! I knew he would be big. I've never heard Paul sing his own song - I like it!!!

When people credit Randy Travis for being a pioneer, a lot of his success can be attributed to the songwriters like Paul Overstreet who wrote a lot of golden hits for Randy.

Paul had a lengthy career in gospel music, too. He also wrote "Same Ole Me", a hit for George Jones in 1981 and "When You Say Nothing At All", a hit for Keith Whitley and later, Alison Krauss.

Underlying resentment and regret in that backstory
