  • Walking Backwards has many benefits, especially if done correctly. Walking forward involves continuous rotation of the spine, even though the result is a straight line. Walking backward also involves continuous rotation, but in the opposite direction. This is hard for most people to visualize, so they walk backward by leaning back and falling into each step. This is not beneficial in the way that walking backward with proper rotation can be. Walking backward with proper rotation can help people understand their core movement better, improving balance and coordination. I will review walking backward on level ground and up stairs in this video, teaching the secret of how to do it correctly.
