While I appreciate all the yummy snacks that you buy your kiddos, shouldn’t they be limited to 1 “junk” snack per day?
Chips, crackers, apple sauce, brownies, Oreos, sweetened yoghurt, ice cream, soda, Gatorade - as a pediatrician, one of these snacks daily as a treat is totally fine! I always tell my patients and families to enjoy these treats, but in moderation.
It’s all about forming healthy relationships with food, including making choices to nourish our bodies for sustained energy and growth! Just my thoughts as I have these conversations with families on a daily basis - not a personal attack ❤

Absolutely agree. Doughnuts for breakfast, crappy lunches and dinners then snacks in between, they'll have so many health issues added to the ones they already have.

I wonder if they ever eat out of real plates- I know it’s a lot of people- but just washing the same dishes again would help decrease paper waste by buying paper goods all the time and would be nice to eat out of real plates as a family.
She's trying to watch the water usage. They are waiting to be hooked up to the city so the paper plates makes sense . Also the reason she goes to wash clothes somewhere else.
@@arizonagirl927 yes, they can be hooked up to city water - it's connecting water pipes to and from their house to the city lines. Same scenario happened to us about a decade ago.

Hi Alicia, Have a question for you. Are you able to stock your family up for 3-4 weeks for all you need? Just a curious question because I’m only feeding 6 adults and we have 2 refrigerators plus a freezer and I know I’m stocked to the brim and it seems it only lasts 3 weeks. With winter storms and other uncertainties I worry for larger families.
Why don't you organize the cart instead of putting it on display??

Ridiculous. No way they eat all this in a week. The kids are gone all day.
Every southerner is screaming at the screen. “2lbs is not a lot of collard greens!” They will cook down to where maybe everyone gets a spoonful. Probably not and the canned ones would be fine just add some pork for flavor. Hog jowl is awesome if you cut it up. A tiny bit goes a long way and it tastes like home on New Year’s Day

I have only 1 child, me and my husband and we spend $ 350-400 on food weekly..... she has 12 growing kids plus 2 adults its really not an extreme amount..... breakfast, lunches, dinners, snacks etc it all adds up

I have a question! Since you are storing your food out in your garage how do you keep your dry food from getting bugs in it? I know grocery stores have the stores sprayed. I was wondering if you have to have that done also.

Have you compared prices between Wegman's and Costco?
When we were kids, my parents would stock our freezer by purchasing a whole cow/pig, have it processed, wrapped and ready to put in the freezer. Since you have a much larger family, have you considered checking with a local farm or asking if Costco offers anything like that to save on the budget?
To save yourself some time, does Wegman's do home delivery? I believe Costco does although I haven't used it.

I get it's repetitious but I think many people buy the same things most weeks...they run out of those things the fastest because they use them regularly.

I think it's more likely that there's a reasonable explanation, like.... she'll use her existing ones this week but wants to make sure she'll have spares in case they need more toward the end of the week. Remember she's hosting Alex's mom so there will probably be some big celebrations as is their style.

@Anon-0202 I mean each kid could clean their own kit and have it ready for her to make their lunch again. Teach them a little responsibility and honestly each bagging of different items would probably be the same amount of time washing the kits.
