I wouldn’t say it’s nearly that accurate. I’d say it hovers somewhere around 20-25% of the time. A lot of his paranoid theories sound logical, but they prove to be horribly inaccurate in the end. He distrusted Jackson, he was wrong. He distrusted Freya, he was wrong. He distrusted his biological father, he was wrong. He thought Hayley would turn Hope against him, he was wrong. The list goes on and on and on.

His assumption is that others are like himself - like with Freya, he assumed she was manipulating his siblings because he would have manipulated others with his traumatic upbringing - and so out of paranoia, he believes his cruel acts are always justified because it was in defense of something he believes is going to happen. Yes, Hayley tried to relocate with Hope for her safety, because every threat Hope and herself ever faced were enemies of Klaus - and most with the exception of his parents and aunt Dahlia, were created out of an act of cruelty on Klaus’s part. Dahlia was fast approaching and there were constant threats and she didn’t want her to live in a place where she was known as being Klaus’s child, because that put a target on her back; she never said that she’d keep Klaus and the others from Hope forever. I think a lot of people misinterpreted her voice message. She didn’t want Hope to be KNOWN and found a Mikaelson. That didn’t mean she would’ve cut them off from Hope. And this came after Klaus constantly denying Hayley any say whatsoever in the well being of their daughter and CONSTANTLY referring to Hope as “his,” and not theirs, cutting her out of the equation. She was patient with him, she let him make the decisions, she hardly ever snapped at him. It was the first decision Hayley ever made on her own, because Klaus had never let her. Besides that, he had only ever allowed her to marry Jackson after he snapped her neck and she pleaded that the Crescents would be valuable in protecting Hope, and he did that with ulterior motives for himself as well. And of course, Klaus instantly punished Hayley for trying to flee Dahlia with Hope by cursing her and the other wolves to live hunted and killed as wolves except on rare full moons they got to spend a few hours as humans. He has an incredibly perverted, MASSIVELY HYPOCRITICAL sense of justice. He only started to improved after he fell in love with Cami, and it continued developing in the lead up to Hayley’s death and then his own. I do enjoy the character and he grew on me, but he is not a hero by any means.

Poor guy is pananoid 24 7 watching him reject Freya at first glance was sad they were so alike. He did an amazing job at showing how hard it is to fight his paranoia verses how he really feels in a situation. Especially when fighting with Hayley, he wanted so badly to leave her there to finish the ritual, but his parania wouldn't accept what Hayley said until he could believe it himself. Sad, really.
Klaus and Cami was a way better relationship when they had a therapist-patient relationship. Reminded me of Tony Soprano but they had to ruin it with a romance
The sarcastic comments and banter made it entertaining. Not the same but in TVD I found all the Elena and Damon interactions so much more entertaining before they got together.
