Excellent entry Paul. I love how you made the gear assembly to redirect the shaft. I will keep that method in mind if I should enter next year's contest. I got a great laugh out of the whirligig going at full speed with your added sound effects. I was a little disappointed that you didn't you a leaf blower to activate the whirligig but you still gave an excellent demonstration and I love the final product. Good luck in the contest sir. Be sure to update up with how you faired.
Kenny, thanks for the encouragement. The gear system is easy to build and works surprisingly smooth. I was told it looked like something from the Flintstones...LOL, I guess it really does. Thanks for taking the time to watch and the great comment. I sure value your input.
Todd, thanks for the kind words. Making the propeller is a lot easier than it looks, I am going to try and get another video out on making the Whirligig soon. Thanks for watching.
We used to play a game called drop it got it. Some one would spin us up to a ungodly speed, we'd hang over the edge and drop a stone. If you picked the stone up you got it then dropped for the next person. Those kids flying around like that on your whirligig....awesome. Take care. Peace.
Dale, Seems like I remember playing a similar game when I was a kid. Those were back in the days when kids were allowed to play and if they got hurt, well, they got hurt. After awhile you learned what not to do...LOL. Thanks so much for the great comment and for taking the time to watch.
Very creative. That’s a fun Whirligig to watch!!
Nice job Paul & Nancy!! 👍👍👍
Dave, thanks, Nancy appreciates your comment also....
