Pfff, says it's "AGA" and yet only 33-34 colors in-game and 45 on the title screen. So, no AGA (256 colors) in this game, guess they called it that as it requires an Amiga 1200, sort of, needs more than a standard Amiga 500 has anyway (probably only memory), bleh.
The first row of pixels on the title screen is broken for some reason, it's like that in the different versions I tried, and also in the previous Amiga longplay of this game ( • Video ).
Sucks not all levels were included, they could just as well, but most Amiga users didn't have a hard drive, and games with many disks were not fun to play when you had to swap a lot.
Some info from ZE internet!

From HoL (Hall of Light):
[1] Other than the PC version, these following levels are left out in the Amiga version to save disk space:
- both bonus stages (Timon & Pumbaa)
- "Can't Wait to be King"
- "Hakuna Matata"
- "Simba's Return"
[2] The PC and the Amiga manuals are virtually identical except for one difference: on the flip side of the original Amiga manual cover, there has been applied an additional large adhesive label with the information listed in [1] printed on it in all four languages.
[3] The in-game texts of ALL Amiga versions are completely in English; merely the box covers and the manuals have been localized.

A comment from another longplay of the Amiga version on UA-cam (cubex's channel):
Most Amiga games couldn't be installed to harddrive. The reason those levels were cut is because many games were priced by floppy (i.e. 5 floppy games cost more than 4) and shops had trouble selling expensive games.

The stages were cut due to development time constraints. There is an interview with the coder for this port online. And he had like 2 months to complete it. It was ported from the Mega Drive but it was written in another coding language than he was familiar with so it became impossible to complete the game in time. Its a shame...it should have been the best version of the bunch.
Funny then that the stages are also missing in Lion King. Give over mate, Virgin was charging Amiga owners 30 bucks for 50% of the much nicer looking instant loading SNES 50 quid release. And they wonder why piracy was popular, Amigans were screwed over by software houses with talentless developments and smaller games. Blank disks were 5 pence each, disgusting attitudes by the big software houses.
I loved this game on the amiga but I later found out it missed out 2 levels, shame cos it defo had the best sound and music.
Amiga version be like:
"We don't need that shit level. Get it away.
Also you get 8 lives."
Hyenas also die in one hit. The easy mode version.
No "Can't Wait to be King" and "Hakuna Matata" o.O
That's actually blessing in disguise!
This was my childhood! Thanks for sharing.
The reason it is only 32 colours is because it is using AGA dual playfield mode for the parallax, which is 16+15 colours per scanline and any extra would be later palette entries for the sprite shared palette I guess.
Jim Power and T2 arcade has a lot more colours and background layers than the Sega versions so Amiga can be noticeably better than Sega if programmed a certain way, Amiga is better for certain types of graphic styles.
@@turbinegraphics16 not per scanline they aren't, Amiga has max 32 colours including sprite colours per scanline, MD has 48-64 and SNES has 256. Copper is OK sometimes, sometimes it can't make up the difference.
This game was ahead of its time.
𐏏 WertwuzuiwetuiT WertzuI 𐏏 Yes for an Amiga 1200 absolutely not
𐏏 WertwuzuiwetuiT WertzuI 𐏏 I'm taking about design choices not graphics. Levels and designs have little details that devs were barely using back then. Games are not all graphics you know.
Zgadza się. Piękna gra. Jestem z Krakowa ! (CRACOV POLAND).
aghhh i have this in snes and now is complete, thanks! the music makes me feel my childhood
The music and graphics are really good.
this is like the combination of the sega genesis lion king and the snes lion king
No "Can't Wait to be King". That sucks.
***** What's the one in the Elephant Graveyard? Sounds a bit like it to me.
JonCombo Oh, it's be prepared.
One of my favs. Wish we could get a ps4 remaster
Martial Law You do realize that Kingdom Hearts 3 is coming out soon, am I right? ON PS4!
You can purchase Disney Classics Aladdin and Lion King for PS4, XBOX ONE and Nintendo Switch. go check it out.
I owned the SNES version, looked pretty similar to this. I think the Genesis version was drastically different from the rest, just like their version of Aladdin.
***** The Mega Drive is the same as this version but more levels and worse audio.
The SNES and Megadrive versions also had a better frame rate. Especially the genesis version. I was hoping the AGA version would at least be as good if not better than the Genesis. I don't know why as I believe the AGA was a more powerful machine I believe. But the Genesis wins this IMO. I cant stand the frame rate
@@phonedork that's because the Amiga version was made by one coder that had only 2 month to make the conversion from scratch. Original game was coded in C, a language the Amiga coder didn't knew, since he was an assembler coder. That also explain the missing levels.
I watched this in my childhood, but I loved the SNES more than this version and Sega, to play, I mean
Some of the elephants in the Elephant's Graveyard are really big.
The "be prepared" song is catchy...
Looks cool and good gameplay
Are there no cut scenes between levels???? You just gotta guess what happened to Mufasa if you haven't seen the movie, I guess???
SketchyGrl nope there are no cut scenes. But in that time everyone saw the movie, I guess.
Shame....
Interestingly, neither the SNES/SEGA version make it clear even with cutscenes.
Super Game !! Grettings from Poland !
My child hood memories flashes like butterflies in front of me. oh wait !!! some of the levels were skipped :(
@8:01 that music though :( nostalgia is a bitch.
The best level with all the animals where simba cant wait to be king isnt included in this version?
waffeltje Nope, and please read the video description.

That level is pure torture!
Uses SNES sounds, but have Genesis graphics.
I can’t wait to be king level hakuna matata one is not here aminga is bad
Next port: SEGA Master System ll Version
Where's the Hakuna Matata?
In hell, where it always belonged!
Simba vs hyena AND vulture
Outer game is into
Hakuna Matata 16 bit :)
Não adianta a versão do Super Nintendo é muito superior, em qualidade gráfica e sonora é claro!
