I revisit my listings on a daily basis first thing in the morning enjoying a hot cup of coffee. These typically are the listings ending that day which could range from 5 - 15 listings or more. I vary the title, change my price, change my best offer parameters (more liberal as time marches on) and I optimize my shipping options and whatever else I can tweak. I figure, I ALWAYS can improve something about my listing and sometimes I find I will sell something from these listings after I do this. I will do more listings if time permits. I've also noticed errors or things I thought were marked but were not (international shipping etc.). In regards to BO-I usually use it with most of my listings. Some DVDs or books I just have BIN and offer free shipping with other paid options. If there is BIN with BO, I don't offer free shipping. It's one or the other. Anyway, nice video and thanks for the reminder to check listings!
IDK if someone already mentioned it, but the eBay app shows you if your item is missing specifics, if you click on "missing specifics" on the app home page it takes you to a list of all items that can be adjusted and makes the process easier.
I did not know that every blank box on my listing hurt how it is promoted! Guess what my Sunday involves..thanks again! Always learn so much from your videos.
Suzanne, thanks for your critique of my EBAY store. Since I have implemented your ideas and suggestions my sales have skyrocketed. Just wanted to thank you personally. You really have helped me be more successful.
Great video, Suzanne! One thing I'd like to add about not using auto-decline on Best Offer: If someone offers you a price that is too low, and you automatically reject their offer, they will likely move on to someone else's listing. If they do keep trying, but with no idea what you would actually accept , you may miss out on a sale, because (I believe) they are limited to three offers. If the third offer is rejected, they can't make any more offers, even though they might be willing to spend more money. I usually prefer to do a counter-offer, particularly if the item has been listed for a while, but hasn't yet sold. That keeps you in contact with them, and puts the ball back in their park, so to speak. They have to decide if they are willing to pay that much. (Note: if the listing will be ending very soon, there may not be enough time to get a response from the potential buyer.)
eBay recently changed it where buyers can make 5 offers on one item. I, too, think it is best to interact in a "human" way to get the sale. Too much technology can result in lost opportunities.
I watched this morning and immediately did a bulk edit to put best offer on everything. I’m not sure why I even stopped using it. So far, I have accepted 3 offers today🤗
Great great advice Suzanne! I have always had best offer on everything and never set auto decline and it always helps. Thank you for this video because I was not going into my listings when they ended to revise them, such great advice, just started doing that today. Thank you!
Hey Debra! Nice to see you. My mom, your neighbor, is on a cruise this week! They called from St. Thomas yesterday. Living the good life! I hope you can meet her sometime. She was thrilled to know one of my eBay friends lives nearby!
What fun for her! Yes will definately get to meet her one of these days. I have a cleaning business and my ebay business that is keeping me hopping so haven't been able to walk much lately. But I haven't forgotten about meeting her!
I started on selling on Ebay recently and I was curious what your advice would be on that "promote listing" feature thing they have at the bottom of your "revise listing" page where you can place a percent that adds to the cost of your final value fee if your item sells.. Does this bring you up higher in search? or is this just a way to pay Ebay to advertise your listing?
So many good tips! A few I've heard in your other videos but what a great summary. I was unaware of how too many views can throw you lower in the search so , off I go to end some old listings, relist if appropriate or donate if not. And I do use BO on everything, (took your advice on this a few months ago) after setting limits for BO in the first 6 months of selling. Evaluating all offers has definitely increased my sales.
It took me a long time to learn - Do not fall in love with your merchandise! Sell it. A few months ago, I also started ending my old listings & then do sell similar. I find that it helps not only in selling those items but other items as well.
Good website maintenance advise. I feel like I do this more than the average seller, but I dont see results in increased traffic or sales very often :( but I keep plugging along. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience!
Excellent video Suzanne. You nailed it!! Gotta go back and check my item specifics. I completely agree listing more is only advantageous if my listings are A* optimized in all areas. Thanks for this video!!
I have a question with regard to relisting your items that have been for sell (Good til Cancelled) and have a high volume of views - specifically, what happens with the "Watches" you might have for the item. Specifically, I have an item I listed on 1/16/18. It currently has 287 views and 6 watchers. If I relist this item, will I loose the "watchers"? What is your general view of "watchers"? I have been selling on eBay for just over a year and have found your videos to be informative and helpful.
You lose the watchers. But my question to you is, if they have been watching for so long why haven't they bought it? Answer, they aren't going to. And if somebody really wants it, they will find it again once it is relisted. Watchers don't mean anything anyway.
@@SuzanneAWells this is perfect because I was also wondering about this because I have some items that people are watching but they are not really buying.
May I ask a question about item specifics, should you put in the percentages of cotton, Spandex Rayon, etc or check cotton blend? And list the percentage in description? Thank you.
Suzanne, You mention SELL SIMILAR a lot, so I am wondering if that is better than just relisting an unsold item...or why specifically. Also, do you have a video on what is up with Talbot's items? I see them a lot, but they ALL must not be special...???or???? I haven't been getting them, and am wondering if I should. Thank you for changing my life!!!!
So I would like to do this service your offering but my computer decided to fry my CPU and I am waiting on parts so can I buy the service and wait to use it to get the discounted rate?
I just went in and checked the item specifics on some of my listings just to see how I was doing - and I'm noticing a category called "Theme". Why would a NYC button down, long sleeved blouse need a theme? Seems crazy to me and wonder what others think.
Some great advice and info here. I need to start listing on a second account. Do you use two computers/laptops so you can keep both accounts open at the same time?
Sorry that was so vague! I have a floral shirt listed. Under "details", it has a pull down screen for "Features". The choices are "embellished", "personalized", or "add your own". My shirt is neither embellished or personalized. Is it best to "add your own", like the word "flowers" so it is not left blank?
It is my understanding that you should NOT add your own. If nothing there is suitable then leave blank. The objective is to fill in as many item specifics as are applicable and make sense. Sometimes you do have to leave them blank if no option applies to your item.
Okay, I have another question about 'best offers.' If you get one that's quite low...like a $9 offer on something that is listed for and well worth $25, do you ignore or do you bother to haggle with them? I have just found such a scenario on my ebay account. I always put best offer on my fixed price listings and have had some good sales that way, but I find this kind of thing beyond frustrating. Thanks.
I always counter as well and most of the time the item will sell. Just sold an item this morning. Offer came in at $8, I countered at $11, item sold! Item was worth about $18-20. But, it's been listed for about 6 mos, so I'm happy to see it go. I don't do best offer on items listed at under $10, as those items are priced as low as they can go when you factor in ebay fees/paypal fees/cost of item/etc.
I went back and forth with a buyer that started lowball offer - 2 weeks later she accepted my final offer that was only 20% less than my asking price. She left me positive feedback the same day the item was delivered. Well worth several rounds of counteroffers :)

Great! Congrats! 👏
Amen!
So how does one know when eBay changes the search algorithm?
They usually announce it in a webinar or during a semi-annual update.
Suzanne is wise as an Owl and gentle as a Dove....
whoooooo - me? (Sorry couldn't resist!) OWL be happy to accept your compliment...LOL
very helpful thank you. awesome video as always. looks like I will be busy tonight checking my listings. THANK YOU 👊👏❤🎉💥📟💰📟📠📲☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕

Some sellers love it, others not so much. The best way to determine if it works for you is to experiment with it for yourself.

I love all. the. Info hope to start soon and will need your help
Thank you so much for all of your help!
Are you going to have this avalible again?
Hi Yvette - I usually do this about once a year
Oooh Tip #2....Thanks!!
Thank you so much, for your your information.
I have a question with regard to relisting your items that have been for sell (Good til Cancelled) and have a high volume of views - specifically, what happens with the "Watches" you might have for the item. Hi Suzanne. Just signed up to have a critique but i don’t know how to send a link to my eBay store!! Thank you.
hi Amy - you can send me an item number. I can find your other listings from there. Thank you!

Hell yeah I do best offers some days I'm feeling generous. Sometimes it's because I'm just tired of looking at it on my shelves.
Amen to that!
Great teacher ever , thank you
I like this video already! I will be pausing it and making some corrections. Very helpful! Thank you.
Love your cartoon!
So I would like to do this service your offering but my computer decided to fry my CPU and I am waiting on parts so can I buy the service and wait to use it to get the discounted rate?
Of course!
Great video. not up and running just yet. can I purchase and use in 8 weeks? thank you so much for sharing.
Sure - email me at suzanne@suzanneawells.com and let's make a plan
I just went in and checked the item specifics on some of my listings just to see how I was doing - and I'm noticing a category called "Theme". Why would a NYC button down, long sleeved blouse need a theme? Seems crazy to me and wonder what others think.
It may be a theme like Disney, Hello Kitty, vampire, steampunk, etc. - something that is searched for and is popular.
Some great advice and info here.
I need to start listing on a second account. Do you use two computers/laptops so you can keep both accounts open at the same time?
No. I just work on one account at a time.
Or you could have different accounts open in different browsers.
Ha, oh yeah. I didn't think about different browsers. That's an idea too. Thanks.
So, when I have description blank that has no applicab!e choices, should I fill in my own? Like floral under theme? Does that make sense?
I would need to see an example of what you are referring to?
Sorry that was so vague! I have a floral shirt listed. Under "details", it has a pull down screen for "Features". The choices are "embellished", "personalized", or "add your own". My shirt is neither embellished or personalized. Is it best to "add your own", like the word "flowers" so it is not left blank?
It is my understanding that you should NOT add your own. If nothing there is suitable then leave blank. The objective is to fill in as many item specifics as are applicable and make sense. Sometimes you do have to leave them blank if no option applies to your item.
Got it! Thanks a million times over, Suzanne! You are a blessing!

I have just found such a scenario on my ebay account. I always put best offer on my fixed price listings and have had some good sales that way, but I find this kind of thing beyond frustrating. I never ignore. I always counter. Why do you find this frustrating? Isn't is human nature to try to get the best deal?
I think frustrating was the wrong word. More like disappointed. And thanks for the reply. I'll be sure to counter offer.
