    That paint and touch up came out well. That's not too bad a finish, I'm thinking.
    Funny, but I was thinking too, how nice that'd look with brass accents on it, all to go with the brass timing lever knob.
    Good stuff!

    PS.. I would still fire your plug from the top of the glass,
    But make a fitting that fastens from the inside that fastens to the proper spark plug threads on the out side!!
    So Plug/threads\coupling on the other side of the glass!!!
    Should work awesome!!!
    Try and make the clearance the same though & I would have made the valve clearance the same as the original head as well so you may have to start over on your head..
    But this is an awesome idea!!! Being able to see the combustion!!!
    Good idea guys!!!
    Keep up the good work!!!

    I think the bronze main bearings in these little engines are good for approximately 300 years LOL. Why can't they make stuff this simple and reliable anymore?
    These little cast iron Briggs are so overbuilt for a 1 hp engine it isn't even funny. I have 3 of them and they are addictive once you start tinkering with them.
    They have that old school valve timing too which makes them fun to listen to when they are running.

      Don't they throw worn out lawnmowers after you on your side of the puddle? You get them for free or almost for free over here.
      If you want it standing up, just aim for a reel mower... they're less common (at least here in Sweden) but worn out their value is still close to 0.

    • @JoeKyser
      @JoeKyser 7 років тому

      ziiofswe yes absolutely but thats all junk thats why its free lol. that motors a little different there then a "lawnmower motor" besides the glass head. that's more like a compressor motor

    • @ziiofswe
      @ziiofswe 7 років тому

      That's my point. The junk is a starting point. Parts are cheap for these engines as far as I know. A nice renovation project.
      If you want to buy a finished piece, that's another story. And isn't part of the fun to actually fix it yourself?
