I have the D808, however in my part of the world I cannot recieve Iran on MW, do you perhaps know if Iran transmits on SW??

Well, I think yes. Iran does broadcast on SW band :) I am now receiving the "Voice of Islamic Republic Iran" on 15430, 15240 kHz from Sirjan, Iran. Check the short-wave.info website :) Iran is listed there too :)
