  • Fixing vacuum pressure issues on the AC programmer (96 specific) not allowing for fans to change direction.
Tell tale signs of bad vacuum pressure, fans will start by only blowing out of the defrost vents, then both defrost and lower leg vents.
Potential need to haves for cruise controller to AC programmer.
1-2 feet of 5/32nds vacuum line
1-2 feet of 7/32nds or 9/16ths, still unsure.
    1 adapter.
Need to haves for dismantling and fixing AC programmer.
5-6ft of 3/32nds vacuum line ( cut into 5 similar lengths)
    5/16s drill bit ( and a drill )
Anything capable of covering the now created exposed rear of the AC programmer case, examples being a sheet of paper, the plastic wrap on a 2lt of pop, probably duct tape...
All the vacuum stuff being found at Autozone will roughly set you back $20-$25. I'd assume most people at least know a guy with a drill and drill bit set.

Dude thanks so much I searched and searched for a answer and never completely understood until now my 95 vette is stuck on defrost and floor will blow hot or cold and I’ve replaced the programmer, headunit and check valve under the hood this will be my next try if it fixes it I’ll be tickled shitless

Also my 95 has the digital climate control but has the same vacuum lines that are hopefully causing the issue instead of the factory push nut I used a small nut to hold the vacuum lines on and I’m hoping that’s what is causing it

I do not remember what size vacuum line I said to use. But that size vacuum line is a perfect fit. You shouldn’t need any zip ties or anything to secure the vacuum lines. Also after I made the initial hole to open up the AC unit control box thing I never went back and re-patched it, as it seemed unnecessary. Haven’t reserviced it since.

The new line having the factory line shoved in was beyond snug enough.
