For this file I think its just the Shiny Giratina, I left them alone in case I wanted to RNG abuse them or reset them for stats, I did this with all my events until gen 8, leave them until I needed them.
Oh my god! How long did this take you? And did you hack in the Dream World ones, or get them when they were still available? I have so many questions! Would you recommend attempting this?
First of all, please, no do not attempt this lmfao, its not worth the sanity you'll lose from the ridiculous amount of grinding, especially when completing it is impossible, and even if it wasn't impossible, the funfest mission medals are so unreasonable to get that doing what you can legitimately is a nightmare. Maybe a lower goal then all of them is fine, even legend medalist which is the one for 200 medals, I think eliminates a lot of the REALLY bad ones. Secondly, the only ones I personally hacked in were related to having ridiculous amounts of people participating in a single funfest mission, because I can't afford to go to conventions to do them, though I want to get them legitimately eventually. Everything else in this run was completely legitimate, and I was intending to go for this since release. I actually grinded out all 100 dream world captures upon hearing Global Link was shutting down for gen 5. The last few years of this run were made into this UA-cam series.
@@SaltedNeos I will end up going for every medal eventually, probably in little bursts focusing on different things. Also, that's crazy that you got the Dream World stuff legitimately! I'm probably gonna get them semi-legit when the fanmade Game Sync revival is released. I'd also like to 100% other portions of the game. For example, that big tower with all the locations you've interacted with. I can just painstakingly reset a copy of the game and interact with my main one, but switch my location each time. That would be insane!
@@Thumbtoe23 I'd love to do more of Unity tower, but if you do want to fill that in, BE SURE to get the friend codes from each file you make, because the friend codes medal fucking sucks. I have no idea if I set my japanese game's regions yet, so I might need to look at that when I'm done with the shuffle 3DS preservation work. Or I can probably just see if the fan server has players in those regions I can interact with for filling that in. Other then that, all I can do is warn you that there are way more medals which require grinding then actual skill... the Battle Subway and Battle Test medals are some strong examples of this, theres no medals for doing well in either, but there sure are medals for hitting the forfeit button a ridiculous amount of times! You will be doing a lot of repetitive tasks constantly, and if you want to go for this, this is probably my biggest warning. The medals which don't have this problem I actually like the majority of, the monotype e4 medals are actually cool.

Supreme Challenger (The medal for all league medals) I think is a pretty reasonable and fun goal, if you're willing to EV train mons, then the All Types Champ medal is also pretty rewarding to actually get, its pretty tough, even with RNG abused and EV trained Pokemon a lot of them were really challenging, but it felt so good whenever I actually won one of those. The medals which reward for things that aren't like "battle 1000 trainers" or get 10 followers in Musicals (that one is just a grinding medal with a disguise on, I needed 121 musicals to finish all musicals medals) in general are great and what I'd love to see more of if they brought this feature back, and you know, maybe not 255 medals lol.
28:35 Im pretty sure about 2 months ago Johnstone beat you to having all the medals achieved legitimately. Unless you already filmed it and just havent posted it yet that is.
I just realized what you meant, and no, Johnstone was not fully legitimately either, because he did the Dream World medals in a way that took less than 100 days, which is the bare minimum that they could take legitimately. Me having to make accommodations I had to meet before I was willing to accept my hacked Funfest medals because I'm not an influencer who can rally 30+ people together is the same as him having to hack in Dream World Pokemon to catch in Entree Forest for the Dream World medals since he missed out. If anything, he had to hack in more medals than I did. That's not to take away from his accomplishment either, cause its still a huge effort and I respect the grind, but he did have to hack for more medals than I did, I had to hack 3, he had to hack 5.

He made no modifications to his console or to his game to make it happen but yeah I completely understand the difficulty in getting the funfest medals. You would almost have to piggybank off of a person with enough influence and then come to the event when they schedule it and then hope enough people show up. Its not an easy grind no matter how you look at it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not shaming him either, theres no alternative rn, but its not different imo, he also had to make accomedations by some means that isn't official, I see the DNS Mystery gifts the same way, and I also use those.
@@lightyagami3492 If I wanted to get REALLY technical, there's a required aspect of catching those Pokemon which he skipped as a result of how he had to do it, as these Pokemon are supposed to be rewarded by beating minigames which he could not play. I still forced myself to do a run of a funfest mission where I got 34 points, which multiplied by 30 people is over 1000 points total. No matter how you look at this, there is some aspect of this stupid achievement system which has been gated off from most players, and this is exactly why this was changed to not be the requirement for the 5th Trainer star in all versions outside Japan. (There's like a 0% chance I'm ever actually bothering with the funfest medals at this point though, as it would cost me thousands of dollars to be able to do it most likely, and it would just go unnoticed anyways given the low quality of the rest of my old medal rally videos, if the opportunity ever makes itself available in my life I'm going for it, but I also do accept that there's not really much point anyways now cause Johnstone and Chugga have since taken the niche that this series used to have, and I did everything I can manage to do on my own)
Four questions 1. what is the difference between Friend Safari and online trade with a fellow gamer? I have X from a used game store, and I want Greninja, not Delphox. 2. Is the process of getting my Greninja the same as evolving my Karablast? They both involve online trade, correct? 3. I really don't know anything about trading or transferring Pokemon through people or the internet; heck, so far, I don't even know anyone who plays the games that could grant me my desired Pokemon. So, I might email the esport club at my university to see if anyone owns X or Y and wants to trade their Water Frog Pokemon and Shelmet. How reasonable (or absurd) is that? 4. And this really doesn't have anything to do with X or Y, what are Croagunk and Pawmot's Fighting Type attributes?
This video is on a game which came out before X and Y, so I'm a little curious as to why you're asking this stuff here specifically. Especially seeing that this video hasn't exactly been the most viewed or easily found Pokemon video on UA-cam. Though if you're unwilling to reset the save file the game came with, wild Frogadiers can be found in the friend safari, if you can find someone to trade friend codes with in a 10 year old game. I'm not even really sure what the fourth question is asking tbh, they're fighting types, are you asking what fighting moves they get? Cause looking up their learnsets usually helps with that.

Have a freebie sub for your trouble. I considered doing this before but after seeing a lot of the medals and that it's impossible to do nowadays I decided against it. I think the type expert challenges for the pwt and pokemon league could've been a lot harder if you had to rng manip, ev train and iv breed a bunch of pokemon for each type yourself though I think you could've cheesed the league with monotype teams of 2 or 3 realistically. It's a shame game freak put about as much effort in the glamour of your reward as they tend to do with pokedex completion lol.
I mean, I still did a lot of my own RNG abuse for shit for those type experts, most shinies in the series were things I ended up getting myself, and for the most part some RNG abuse was involved in getting them. Tons of EV training needed too, as the type experts have competitive movesets and IV/EVs on the mons. The league monotype medals were a lot easier, but I usually opted to just play them on challenge mode, with the exception of the second run of One and Only, since I didn't have the mon I used for it on Challenge Mode anymore. Requiring IV breeding in generation 5 though, I can't say is a good thing, as IV breeding in generation 5 is pretty much impossible to get more then maybe 2 or 3 perfects unless you're insanely lucky or RNG abusing.
