Miss Dorothy and Mosie Burks, in my opinion, are the best female Christian singers ever!! Just beautiful music packed with real soulfulness that cannot be duplicated unless you lived/ walked in their shoes.
Isn't God the true and living God always amazing. Dorothy and the Harmonettes never could have imagined. Decades after their busy walk of life, this side of heaven passed on that their musics would still bless God's people and bring sinners to the saving salvation of Jesus Christ. Saints, this is why we do not get our rewards until the new heaven and earth. Because even in the grave, some of us will still earn rewards for evangelism and leading sinners to the Cross and Jesus.
The #1 Song on my Exercise Playlist. Warning: You might get caught up and break out running without realizing it; or finish 3-4 miles before you know it.
My first gospel song that made me like gospel music. Sister Elizabeth Murray the first lady of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church sang this song till we shouted then I knew. Thanks for reminding me.
I have loved Dorothy Love Coates ever since I heard her music in the early 1970's when I bought a great LP titled " Ain't that Good News". I wish You Tube had a live performance of her singing " No Hiding Place" from that LP. Thanks for posting. I wish more people had heard of her! Really a vocal genius.
I was so lucky to have seen her, Marion Williams, the 5 Blind Boys of Alabama and the Stars of Faith at a celebration for Mahalia Jackson years ago at Carnegie Hall. Good old school gospel music, people clapping, stamping feet and an occasional scream of a saint slain by the Holy Spirit. The performers were all outstanding but when Dot Love and her Gospel Harmonettes hit the stage and sang, "That's Enough", the crowd went wild. Good, good memories.
One of my all-time favorite Gospel groups. Someone referred to them as the "Girls of Fire". I remember seeing them in person, and indeed they were ALL FIRE!!!
They used to play a Live Version of City Built Four Square on the gospel program on the radio when I was young. Have you ever heard it? Have it? I saw it one time but it was on a website from England and I was afraid to buy online. It was on an album with the B.C. and M choir.
@@TonySaldana No sir. I want to say she was on one side, the choir on the other. One time my best friend and I , another Coates fanatic, called her at her house and she told us to try Malaco. LoL. One of her albums actually had her home phone number on it.
She was as real as they get! Everything she sung you felt deep down in your soul. Yes, Lord. ✝️📖🙏🏽

House of Hung Realness No I haven’t I only have this one and “Lord you’ve been good to me” do you remember the name of the album?
