President Rodrigo Roa Duterte graces the 124th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence at the Rizal Park in the City of Manila on June 12, 2022.
The President, together with Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) Chairperson Rene Escalante, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Andres Centino, several Cabinet Secretaries and other officials, leads the flag raising ceremony in the historic occasion.
Likewise, the Chief Executive offers a wreath and renders a salute in front of the Rizal Monument during the program.
This year’s celebration bears the theme ‘Kalayaan 2022: Pagsuong sa Hamon ng Panibagong Bukas’ (Rise Towards the Challenge of a New Beginning).
Various government officials lead the flag raising and wreath-laying rites simultaneously conducted in different historical landmarks throughout the country.
