One of the mixture that has been highly entrenched in the Nigerian church is prostrating before established pastors and papas. In the Yoruba culture, it is called Idobale. Although it is in the Yoruba tradition, it has been brought into the church and has been embraced to an extent if you don't do it to Papas, you are seen as disrespectful.
However, it is not Christianity. When Cornelius tried it on Peter, he told him to stand up for he is a man . When John tried it in the book of Revelation 22, this is what happened, "And when I heard and saw them, I fell prostrate before the feet of the messenger (angel) who showed them to me, to worship him. But he said to me, Refrain! [You must not do that!] I am [only] a fellow servant along with yourself and with your brethren the prophets and with those who are mindful of and practice [the truths contained in] the messages of this book. Worship God!"
Other traditions that have brought a mixture of Christianity in Africa and worms into Christianity, is the use of water in prayer, calling fire on our enemies, chanting the name of Jesus and the blood of Jesus, etc.
