There are repercussions. He bided his time and got Urban Meyer fired. Been holding that card close to his vest for months, watching Meyer hang himself over and over... then he pounced.
Personally I feel the same as you, if someone strikes me they're gonna get something back *real* quick. But some people are just more patient and strike back differently. "Revenge is a dish best served cold."

If he feels he can do it to professional players and coaches and a professional organization... Imagine what he was doing with the college players and coaches who were under his control before. They have vague clauses in them, but you actually don't get to decide that the other party's behavior qualifies as meeting the criteria. An arbitrator or a judge does, and the standard tends to be quite high, it's nothing so small as doing a bad job or making people angry at you. Unless they have video evidence of Meyer doing something physically abusive or criminal they run a very serious risk of being forced to pay out the full amount of the contract.
And also, like with this kicking the kicker incident, you had better have an incredible excuse for any incident that happened well before you decided to fire them. If this happened in summer training camp and you're firing him in December, you basically invalidate your claim of having cause because you clearly didn't fire him for that reason.

Of all the reports, and it's not an easy call, but the report about kicking a player and saying he'll kick him whenever he wants, that's the worst. Most of the other incidents boil down to a mix of arrogance, cowardice and general incompetence, but the kicking of Josh Lambo brings in an element of cruelty that takes things to another level. The calling out of coaches as losers taps into the cruelty element as well, but it's the physical degradation added into the kicking puts it beyond the pale. If that report had come out when it happened, it should be enough on its own to have him fired.

For about 15 or so years there have been 5 teams that have made the playoffs that weren’t in the playoffs the year before. The NFL is the easiest of the four major North American leagues to have a quick turnaround so it’s not that hard because that salary cap also means there’s a lot of talent on the market every year.

In college, coaches are the face of the organization. They get the credit for the teams success, they can tell kids whatever they want and not be held accountable, and they’re dealing with kids. In the pros you cannot do that cuz you’re dealing with grown men. Urban Meyer saw himself above his players and assistant coaches which in the NFL you got to see everyone as equals.

I’ve always said Urban Myer can coach college football however he’s always been someone who has no ethics, morals or character his athletes arrested at Florida was absolutely insane, I cheered for him at Ohio State but couldn’t stand the fact the school hired him with his baggage that Jim Harbaugh also has. & everything he did at Jacksonville was awful, call his assistants losers, saying his players suck, kicking his kicker all that unacceptable & even worse was after a humiliating loss in Cincinnati when they had a huge lead you have the nerve to stay in Ohio your team flies home then we catch a woman grinding herself on him. Please give me a break Jacksonville was dumb for even hiring him.
