Titina Maselli & Pop Art: discussing Baci Perugina

In occasion of "Titina Maselli" at Eduardo Secci Firenze (May 8 - July 31, 2021) the curator Alberto Fiz discusses the work Baci Perugina.
Critique and Literature on Titina Maselli extensively explored the relationship between the American Pop Art and the modes of representation of the Roman painter. Advertising and the symbols of the new capitalistic era represented a cultural imaginary within which twentieth-century artists developed and conceptualized their reflection of a new fast paced modernity. Nonetheless, Maselli’s research maintained a very observational attitude differing from the ironical critique of pop artists.
