Who can even remember the chiefs winning superbowls 10 years ago? Not a thing!
It’s not an obvious foul. Rulebook says if the defender is making a play for the ball, pi may not be called. Obviously that doesn’t mean the defender can just maul someone, but when 2 guys jump for the ball and collide (like in this game) it’s not pi. Same with the pats Super Bowl vs the Seahawks. Malcom jumps there route and makes a play for the ball and collides with the receiver. No pi because he made a play for the ball. So what’s the difference you may be wondering? Well the golden boy threw the ball and not Russ so they called a pi.
@limitedbom2206 The issue is he played through the back of the receiver. Not a chiefs fan but it's a bad play by the DB. A veteran player doesn't mess that up

The blocking player (RT) maintains position between the defender and the ball carrier. Nor is the blocker required to "correct" for the defender's action. "Unless the defender is making a play on the ball" that statement is stated multiple times in the official NFL rulebook. The bengals defender WAS making a play on the ball. 100% no PI by definition of the NFL rulebook.
Its a lie that Patriots got preferential treatment bybthe referees. If that was the case people wouldn't always be talking about the Tuck Rule. Kansas City gets preferential treatment EVERY DAMN GAME IN THE REGULAR SEASON AND THE PLAYOFFS AND ITS RIDICULOUS.
The bangels PI was legit. But KC committed PI last night and it wasn't called. That's the problem. 31 teams are being held accountable while KC gets to do what ever they want. Their OL is constantly holding, the RT jumps the snap everytime, and their DBs get away with PI. Sure they get a few flags here and there, but the amount they get away with is insane.

Only internet trolls say that the PI was "ref ball saving the chiefs". Every relevant opinion I´ve seen, including ex DBs (like Sherman, Mcfadden and Clark), have said that it was the correct call.
It was, the fact the numerous insane holds were not called on the chiefs oline for them to get into that situation is the issue. Hendrickson should have had five sacks, but he was literally being dragged around by his jersey.

Why talk about the PI call and not the Pick 6 called back because the bangels player pushed the QB down after the interception? How is that roughing the passer? He was no longer the passer. He was a player being blocked so the bangels player could run for a touchdown.
It wasn't roughing the passer, it was a holding call on who ever was covering Kelce. They grabbed him by the pads and that is not something you're allowed to do. They see a guy with a fist full of jersey and they're calling it every time. At least get the call right if you're going to complain.
@slimischillin7753 I think his point is that fans of Taylor Swift are suddenly interested in football that weren't before... whether or not they are actually buying tickets to games is debatable.
@slimischillin7753 I never said it was bad... I personally think it's a distraction when viewing a game, and we constantly have to cut to see how Taylor is reacting to a play... but whatever, I understand why they do it... it's all about the Benjamins, and if showing Taylor increases ratings, so be it.
I don't think it's that big of a stretch of imagination. Just ask yourself two questions. 1) Do you think the rich billionaire owners are beyond using the refs to influence the outcome of games to result in a better marketable team winning to bring more money into the league? 2) Who is the most marketable team in the NFL? A team like the Chiefs, with a player dating arguably the biggest superstars in the world, and going for a 3-peat superbowl win is absolutely the most marketable team, so......
The thing is... per the rules.., it 100% was not PI bc he was going for the ball.. he's legally allowed to have that early contact bc he has every right to the ball as well.... if he wasn't reaching out to catch the ball it would've been legit PI.. like the chiefs defender that's damn near tackling the falcons receiver without making a play on the ball, or even looking at the ball, that was 100% PI
I saw multiple no calls on corners going for the ball this week. Idk how we’re so wishy washy on when the corners are allowed to go for the ball or not
What I don't get is "You can't call it there..." If the players KNOW you aren't going to call in big situations, they WILL interfere in those situations. That then begs the question why call it AT ALL if you can't call in in big situations?
I can remember when Dallas used to get all the calls back in the day when Jerry had the hooker mobile for league officials. I'll never forget watching the refs spot the Boys 24 points against the Redskins.

Ok, how does Jones of the Patriots have a right to the ball but the Bengals DB doesn't? That's the entire problem, the call is inconsistent. He is correct that they have a right to play the ball. That's what they were both doing. That's what players do during a Hail Mary. It shouldn't have been called either time. They weren't hitting the player to prevent them from catching it, all 4 players were making a play for the ball.
That DPI was probably the best thing that could've happened to the Bengals. That pass would've been an easy completion (receiver had a close out position on the def back) at the exact same spot, KC would have run the clock down to :03 seconds just like they did, and Butker would've made the field goal just like he did. It's much easier to cope with the meltdown if you can just say "boo refs" and pin the result on things like luck or a league-wide NFL conspiracy.
I love the argument that says you can’t call it because the penalty “affects the outcome of the game”. Well, not calling that DPI on the Davante Adams play prevented the Raiders from getting a TD there. That no-call certainly affected the outcome of the game.
I think the rule is if the pass is uncatchable, no flag. But, the pass hit the defender in the helmet and but for the interference, the pass was catchable, so it should have been pass interference penalty.
It's happened to my team a LOT over the years. Which is why this is so infuriating to see. Lost a whole fxckin super bowl due to an OBVIOUS non call on 4th. 2:05

This was PI, but this has been happening for years. I love greatness. I love Tom Brady, I love lebron James, the chiefs aren’t “greatness” they’ve been handed multiple playoff games on their road to all of their SBs.. no way it just happens to be a coincidence every year for the same team
"they"? The NFL is controlled by the owners who all want to win, including Mike Brown, the Bengals owner.
No it’s run by business men that want to make money, you realize they split profits right? That’s what got Dan synder in hot water he wasn’t reporting his profits and sales to the nfl which is fraud, what sells more, chiefs winning at the last second or them getting squashed? The owners want to win but they don’t actually care as much as we do as fans this is business to them at the end of the day
God this and the toe on the line, you cant possibly see the replay and still say its not an obvious foul 😂
Didn't help the announcers were saying it was a late flag, When in the live shot you can see the ref begin to throw the flag before the ball has even landed after hitting his facemask.
You must not have heard about the guy who paints the endzones. He voted for mahomes in 2016 and I guarantee you they are rigging the squareness of the field. You can obviously tell because Caleb would have thrown for 10tds by now if not the case. If the bills don't threepeat in the next 3 years you know it's rigged. Who can even remember the chiefs winning superbowls 10 years ago? Not a thing!
@DevinEMILE the announcers also all said it was PI but it seems every1 skips that.😂😂
It’s not an obvious foul.

Maybe the bengals kid did interfere. Watch the film again and count the number of times Hendrickson gets held. In this game and in the AFC championship 2 years ago, etc. it’s not just about the calls you need to look at the non-calls as well. Accept that when you play KC you need to beat their 11 plus the guys in stripes. The refs save their best for the close game and close calls:. Burrow and bengals should be 5-0 not 3-2 v chiefs. @@mattjuckett9327The defender went with a swim move. Usually it is rip moves that lead to this, but here, the swim move accomplishes the same rules interpretation.
The blocking player (RT) maintains position between the defender and the ball carrier.
The defender makes a move (usually a rip move, but possibly a spin move or as here a swim move) that "creates" a hold. The blocker is not penalized if the defender puts himself in a hold. Nor is the blocker required to "correct" for the defender's action.
Therefore, once the defender puts himself in the bad position, it is no longer considered a hold UNLESS the blocker is no longer between the ball carrier and the defender, at which time the blocker must let the defender release.
