I have the D7W for a few months, i am very happy with it. You can also charge it with a 5.1mm x 2.1mm adapter that fits into the 12v cigarette socket on the car. I keep one in the box incase the battery gets low while using it.
Thanks for sharing. I will put a link to car charger in the description! Do you have a part number because I can't find a 5.1 mm as most are 5.5 mm x 2.1. Thanks
Excellent video. I will be reviewing it so that I can learn from your tutorial. I will be getting a screen protector for the screen. LOL. I tend to "wack" my tools. My primarily use will be focus around my 2012 Camry.
Thank you for this full review. I was considering the similarly priced Autel MK808s and the XTool D7s. Do you have any opinion on one vs the other? I am looking at a wired unit for my needs.
Value wise because of the 3 years of included updates on D7s and the fact the d7s will still function if you decide not purchase additional updates makes it a clear winner for DIY home mechanics. But if you are using it for work and it’s your money maker than maybe buy a better Autel unit.
Great review. How long does it take to charge a nearly dead battery? Only thing concerning me about this unit is the longevity of the battery and getting a replacement if the battery fails completely in the future.
I understand your concern and the battery last for about 3 hours during use. If you just leave it on it will last for for 2 to days 4 days just like a tablet. But there is another version of this scan tool that has wired connection and charges while being used and is a bit cheaper as well. ua-cam.com/video/QKNp2bFYcVI/v-deo.htmlsi=3HQOTwUoYLiAkPVR
I went ahead and went with the D7W. I’ve had a small 12v inverter sitting around that I can use just in case. I reached out to Xtool and inquired about battery replacements. Thank you for the reply and thanks again for the review!
I would just like to add that I let my unit sit for over a week. When I turned it on again the battery was at 100%. I did a full shutdown though. I have read about others going back the next day and they had lost 10% overnight. They probably left the unit in standby and did not fully turn it off.
I just got on of these and it has 3 networks saved in it. You said it doesn’t need WiFi . It prompts me to connect to WiFi. I am concerned about connecting this to my computer I have had a computer hacked and that was a nightmare. In the beginning of the video you said that you already did the update. Do you need to connect to WiFi to do enitial set up /update? I am somewhat computer illiterate, so this confuses me and concerns me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I got this for personal use, did I make a mistake or are my concerns unfounded?
Once you activate it does not need internet again unless you want to update it again. This completely wireless and has nothing to do with your pc. If you are worried about turn off your pc and then do the activation and updates.
Doesn’t it use your IP address. It’s kinda like running from the cops , if they get your tag # than you can run all you want. They will just be at your house waiting for you.
Nope you don’t need internet to diagnose a vehicle unless it’s a very modern vehicle like a 2021 Kia because the manufacturer of vehicle requires a connection, but this is rare.

Awesome, it comes with screen protectors out of the box, it’s plastic but it’s better than nothing. Enjoy your tool on the 2012 Camry!

Kingbolen compared to K7? 🙂
En comparación con el D8?
I like the d7s and d8s better than the d7 or d8. It’s has a better flow and feels easier to use.
Where you get your keys from ?
I show it in this video ua-cam.com/video/7UmNijyj0c0/v-deo.htmlsi=n69PjzWmZyVKQnZK

Okay, why not hot stop your phone then to activate ?
Worst case go to a Starbucks and activate there.
Tried McDonald’s but they need a email address. I hear a VPN ? I guess I will have to research that
Does it have Bluetooth
how strong it is on keys
It can program both of my keys, works for Toyota and Dodge.
is the Internet also working at the same time? When do you make a diagnosis?

@@RANDOMFIX But is it possible to use the Internet and diagnostics at the same time? Approximately for online coding of the VAG group
Are topology just a gimmick?
You are spot on!!! Honestly just a visual gimmick at best. A report or health report is just as good!
