I am pretty sure that the item is called a telephone table. Maybe you didn't have a land line when you grew up or I'm too old ! Phone cords were short and fixed to the walls. These tables enabled the caller to be comfortable instead of standing.

what's a telephone.. you mean cell phone.. phone cords?? .. joking.. i still have a land line cause i don't get cell service were i live..

Janelle Hein these were also called telephone desks. The drawers held phone books ('memba them?) and pens and note pads. So glad somebody else has heard of these, and landlines.

My grandmother had one of these she called it the telephone bench and I think my grandfather called at the conversation bench. It was in the hallway where the telephone was jacked into the wall and there was shelf on it to store the phone books.

I'm not sure what species of pine it is but they are 30-40 years old and the color you see is from age it gets a golden brown look with age.. I put wipe on gloss poly on it.. thanks for watching

have no idea.. the dresser wasn't worth 10$.. but i put 25$ worth of wood in it .. 2600$ worth of labor.. lol.. maybe worth 20 bucks..

My grandma would by it for 50 :) and if you had a huge garage sale of them you'd probably sell out of them.
