The only real issue i have with jjs is the frequency of being jumped, when you have a high kill count and usually play pretty well, you’re more likely to just get jumped at random. But that happens more often in any battlegrounds

One thing I really like about Jujutsu Beatdown are the Easter eggs. You can find an area near the slides that holds a little combat arena and 3 little buildings. You can find a bunch of Titans from Attack on Titan by breaking through walls. You can even find a shrine dedicated to Gojo if you start searching through buildings. The map design has a lot of detail and thought into it and is definitely an underrated game.
Yeah I was highly disappointed to see so many youtubers hype up fiction battlegrounds knowing its one of the most basic battlegrounds game we have gotten this year
Yeeees, this is why me my brother and my best friend started making our own bg game that has a teaming system that is actually fair, the game will not be based off of any anime or anything like that, but im also creating a comic, and the characters in the bg game im making are the characters from my comic, another thing im doing for it is admin entrances, basically anyone who is an admin will get their own spawn in animations, that is a cutscene specially made for certain youtube creators and anyone who has helped with the game that everyone in that server is forced to watch, i might post updates on my channel at some point, but the game might take a year or two cause my two bros that are supposed to be helping me with the game are being lazy lol, for anyone who wants to know what the name of the game is gonna be, its gonna be heavens battle grounds, by Draggons Domain studios, this will also be the first game i create so don’t be upset if it doesn’t live up to your expectations
@@MC_rep yeah that might happen, unless the already playable ones actually start doing what they should, besides if the genre does die i have a backup plan, it wouldn’t be a bg game, but it would be an arena fighter with the gameplay mechanics of for honor.
The only real issue i have with jjs is the frequency of being jumped, when you have a high kill count and usually play pretty well, you’re more likely to just get jumped at random.
This is what I have always said, and the key to innovation in battlegrounds is simple: STOP THE 1-2-3-4 SPECIAL FORMULA!!! Sure, it *is* the thing that characterizes the battlegrounds genre, but one of the reasons Jujutsu Shenanigans was actually as good as it was on release was the R button integration, and now with gimmicks like Mahito or Megumi having special abilities when pressing G, the secret moves like Sukuna's World Slash and such, that is why it's so fun to play despite being so chunky sometimes. The Battlegrounds genre has devolved into the 1-2-3-4 formula so much that playing TSB is practically playing the 70 to 80% of the entire genre. There is no innovation in the combat as it's always as BASIC as it can get. Start adding things like Turbo Mode, comeback mechanics, more moves, utility moves (like in Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for example), etc. Stop with the M1 and 4 skills combat. It's getting boring.
also, jjs has the destruction, parkour and burst which makes everything much more dynamic. I genuinely don't like when people say JJS' combat is complete shit when it's not that bad and i find to be much more fair than most games. The simple fact that no combo in the game reaches beyond 50-70% allows players to comeback from a bad situation.
heroes battlegrounds has a character that gives him 2 movesets based on if you have your sword or not. and you can do more total dmg with your sword if you transition to without sword with your combos. So when you dont have your sword, you have these choices to make to either waste your final m1 to get your sword back or get your damage in now and dont get your sword back. not only that but there's a second part to a few attacks by landing the first hit. which you dont have to use instantly for one of them. you can easily use it to throw people off if you just dont do the second part and keep pressure. oh and some attacks have variants. i love using this character.
@@ryanrussum9924 frfr, it's either console players have no way to win or they get lock on and can't lose unless their skill issue is more massive than their hours online
I feel like expecting every game to innovate like jjs is kinda unfair. There’s only so many good ideas that work with bg games and I think that expecting every game to be some crazy rework of the entire battlegrounds formula is a bit much (I mean hey look at Eternal Battlegrounds lol) (Edit: Thanks for mentioning my GOAT Heroes Battlegrounds)
I don't know. There is plenty of room for innovation in bg games. These games are at their core about beating up other players with cool powers and if you do well you get temporary access to a super mode. However, bg games all have the same bare bones combat system which is disappointing considering how combat is the most important thing in this style of game. That isn't to say that complexity is best, but bg games use combat system that in my opinion at least is to simple. I don't expect or even want these games to have a parry system, but they could include things like heavy attacks and evasives among other mechanics
I think the problem with most bg games is that they are trying to copy tsb so bad, tsb is alive because they knew how to survive, even without an update they have an average playerbase of 170k to 200k, so, these bg cannot be copying tsb anymore, they gotta create something new.
Even though the game got completely abandoned Z battlegrounds was a great game, not only was it the first game to have masteries (I THINK) it also had a fusing mechanic which was super fun to use
Personally, i view Ultimate battleground as unique due to how incredibly they write the character and how they are so diverse with each other. Much like jjs, every character in UBG has something unique to their own that makes them different than the rest, plus the game is insanely smooth. Moreover, it has quite the unique duels mode! The ranking system is like no other, instead of just numbers of titles, you get silly icons to show your rank, like a permanent achievement and i personally think it’s cool. (And lemme tell ya, it’s not that easy to achieve.) that has PROGRESSION Besides that, overall cool map..somewhat of a nice playerbase that is FULL of clans! Clans are such a big deal in the game, so if you consistently play it there’s a lot of things to do. (Build ur rank, join a clan, explore the map, and terrorise everyone with Mob’s ult.) ..i tried my best not to seem like a glazer, but oml 😭 regardless, i still think it’s better than uh..cough cough, realm rampage.
I agree with your view on the game, it’s much smoother than a lot of other battlegrounds games I’ve played, the characters are indeed unique, and I feel like that’s important since it’s a multi-anime battlegrounds game, and I think the ranked system is pretty fair, I also like how it displays your rank in the actual game, so you aren’t valued by just your kills. I just wish the game would have more quality of life fixes (like maybe giving Nanami a passive) 😢 🙏
The only bg game that is different is the upcoming one, called custom character smth smth i kinda forgot its full name but its an upcoming bg game that is extremely unique way different than any other bg games, see it for yourselves theres videos about that game, the first ever unique bg game, being able to combine skills and weapons
sonic showdown also seems to be unique? it has air combos ( like the last game you mentioned ) and also for every hour (i think?) someone gets chosen as a raid boss, everybody else in the server will have to team up to beat that person
Addition to the list: Shonen Unleashed Adds new things such as quests, leveling for characters (mastery, basically) and clashes with amazing vfx. They're really good, hope you try it!!😊😊
what i think would be a cool (but sweaty and unfair) thing is skill trees, for example, if you unlock a certain point in the skill tree your last m1 turns into a black flash like that thing that stain can do in heroes bg
I WAS THINKING THAT TOO but then how does the game be fair since you have a giant advantage over new players once you complete a skill tree, not to mention the amount of animators and move ideas you need to make a functional skill tree that isn’t bland
@@slabbyjigyou could make it fair by having the skill points not needing to be unlocked and so the only difference between new and old players is the knowledge about what they allocate the skill points into. Of course with a reset function so that when you learn what’s the best to learn it makes sense
My cousin and I are working on a battlegrounds game that will have things like a heavy attack and slide attack as well as a more complex movement system that has things like wallrunning, sliding, and swinging off of branches and things like that. There will also potentially be a progression system though we haven't thought of how the progression will work, but it will probably be a bit different then the "mastery" mechanic. Also dashes won't be oackaged with an attack, instead you will have to press m1 during a dash to do a dash attack and downslams will not require three m1 prior to the downslam, instead you'll just have to m1 in the air, but uppercuts will work just like in any other battlegrounds game though we might instead add an uppercut system Deepwoken's, but that is unlikely. Of course there will be other things that set our game apart from other battlegrounds games, but I'll keep those a for secret for the game's release. I will also be keeping the game's name a secret in order to avoid someone stealing it. One final thing I also want to say is that we are going to be making original characters for the game instead of making movesets based on characters in other media like Gojo or Shinra.
You should check out Undertale test place reborn as it’s similar to battlegrounds games but with its own type of combat and unique mechanics that to me feel innovative and fun to play rather than the typical battleground game
bro it was out before tsb and if u learned about it just now that sucks. The devs of that game are greedy now by the way, not like back in the day. The private server commands were free for example. Jokes aside, it's ruined by sweats now.
Me and my friend are making a bg game and I had the idea of like a level system. Maybe a more advanced parkour system that has wall running, not wall jumping, and you could cancel your wall run early, and maybe you unpock certain parkour gear that could help you chain wall runs, as well as a climb system when you jump on a wall it sends you up and you have 2 charges. More on the level system, it could be like a story mode where you are forced to play a certain character and fight off enemies while doing sick ass parkour eith destruction physics
i want to make a battlegrounds game thats just based on pure fun, no goals just some ffa with different gamemodes about roblox hats and gear but i have no expirience with coding or making roblox games
me on my way to realise 1st sneak peak of 1st character of game(its gonna sooo hard to make because of stuff im planning like diamond prism/super ult for first character.) and yes there wont be ps+/kill sound/extra emote slot gamepasses either early access, only donations for my motivation.
btw there will be VERY many bugs I'm probably gonna fix and yes I'm will fix those stupid tech stuff what ruins all fun of game. like Saitama tech shove tech in TSB, there WON'T be any of it/will be considered to be removed or ignored (it will be on my channel vote stuff)
I hate ps+ gamepasses with every fiber of my being. Early access gamepasses aren't so bad though which is why the bg game my cousin and I are making will have one. Anyways your comment is about your bg game, so good luck making it!
Me personally. The main issue I have with EVERY battlegrounds game is the weird lock in place thing that happens if you miss an attack or whenever the opponent blocks and not like perfect block, just blocks in general
i agree but one more major issue is how you are getting teamed on every .2 seconds and the toxicity. some games have emotes that are made for being toxic
@@Nsnsms1 Mf's be like: "SANTINO YOU BETTER UPDATE THE GAME BRO PLEASE YOU'RE SO LAZY BRO GET YO' ASS TO WORK" Like bro, they really forgetting that he has a life other than making TSB, them mf's probably don't even have a life on their own other than playing games all day
1:00 honestly I think his combat just feels better than any other battlegrounds game, it never feels “fun” in any other bg game, that’s why I love it so much (Fun ≠ Balance in most cases except something like hero’s, it’s a good mix of both fun and balance with it’s low dash cooldowns)
Sorry man but The combat in JJS is so slow and clunky. And the balancing is booty aswell, Its a good game to goof around for a bit but when it comes to combat, Its just not good man.
I'm actually working on a BG game, though it's currently only in notes. I haven't the slightest clue on how to code it in, but I'm thinking I'll learn during the summer maybe? I guess it'll be decide by how hard I procrastinate.
The thing with battleground games is they are all focusing on the good experience but no matter how good the animation are no matter how good VFX are can you really consider it a good game if you have no fun I mainly focus on the fun because good can never beat having fun because the thing you want to put in your game is good and maybe good animations but you should always put room for fun
I had no idea heroes' battlegrounds and Jujutsu beat down were like that. JJS is already good but imagine if it added air combos or cursed energy color changes
Bro when he brought up the secret moveset in heroes it made me relive the ptsd of getting it because I had to try over 50 times whereas every one else i knew got it on their first try. My brother even got it two more times without even doing the highest amount of damage. My luck is trash
the difference is like combat and different techs. People try to become better at the games they are already good at, that is what makes them fun for some people
I'm currently making a battlegrounds game and it probably won't be that good but I'm making all the characters have real historical weapons and I want the animations to be the same as you would use them irl
@@Burningziller "By a Dabi User" Brother, have you not been keeping up with the updates? Though, even if what you said made sense, it would also prove my point of poor balancing even more.
HBG made me think i was the luckiest person on earth, cause on my very first fight with Namu ( i was grinding for the deku mastery), i had a 8.3% chance but i still got the moveset!
Spider-Man games on Roblox have always been my favourite games because of free movement and just enjoyable gameplay until I played jjs. My first reaction was like “oh it’s just a battlegrounds game” but then I found R variants and play styles and I just enjoyed the gameplay like the spider-man games and now I found out there’s gonna be a spider-man battlegrounds game with kinda similar features such as destruction and stuff so I’ll play that game when it releases
Another problem is the new age rating So every kid who has an age under 13 on Roblox can’t play any game with a age rating of moderate Heroes battlegrounds had this problem for a little but they managed to change it But shenanigans is still suffering this problem
I love jjs way more than any other jjs game cause it feels really nice, idc about the extremely flashy effects I just want something new and special, I don’t like tsb cause it feels to sweaty like I’ll be playing with my friends and they will be arguing about who has the best combo and when I fight people it feels like I have to use garou and learn combos
@PowerPlayerz100 fr, tsb is such a sweatfest, everyone just cares about combos and tech more than the actual game, leave it to overcompetitive kids to ruin it lol
@@PowerPlayerz100 it is, people treat TSB like it's a professional fighting game where every fight is the pride of their bloodline, and if they lose they whine in the chat and keep trying to fight you over and over because they're bent over the fact they lost, if you try to tell em to stop they say "it's a fighting game" as if that's justification, and if you ignore them and they kill you anyway, they still try to act all tough in chat and try to pretend they won an actual fight instead of just killing you when you're doing nothing. I know roblox is a kid's game but like.. these children need some behavioral adjustments, idk if i've ever seen people so rude, self-centered, and ignorant than the ones i find on TSB, idk if there's any other game on roblox that's as bad as it is there.
For me z bg is unique even tho it isn't as popular as it was but the fact that they have working fusions, also masterys and you can get 3 gamepasses just for getting kills which is pretty cool in my opinion
It’s unique but it’s complete trash. Once the owner bought another Dragon Ball BG for Z then I knew the game would fall off and it did. Combat is boring and buggy af, After Vegeta was finished then the characters became so boring to play as that it’s not even funny. Animations and Vfx became more shittier aswell I mean look at Gohan’s ult, Those Moves are some of the most laziest animations Ive ever seen and The Masteries you talked about are some of the most pathetic shit Ive ever seen. The only decent mastery was SSB Goku, The rest were complete trash. Vegeta’s was basically a bunch of reskins of the same move (expect there’s one ult move that looks new) and Broly’s was just lazy as fuck. It looked like the owner was barely even trying with the moves.
@@BlueEyedGojo23 you are indeed right I remember 0 character balance even tho the game was and is trash I still enjoyed getting every mastery that they have I don't play it now it prob got abandoned if the owner actually cared about the game it would be better but sadly its like it is and we can only look back at a game that had potential but it got wasted
It's actually kinda a dream of mine to create a bg game with something "new". I won't specifically say it for obvious reasons, but seriously, the reason why TSB, JJS, all the other great bg games, they're popular because of one reason, Innovation. I mean, JJS added destruction and other different game modes than just the usual "Fight other ppl on a map" type of thing, TSB is popular because it created something new, because literally any game at the time was just tryna be blox fruits, and that is the reason bg games is literally the biggest genre in the roblox industry rn (if u probably count out them brookhaven players) but like seriously, if your game doesn't innovate, or the devs don't innovate, it will die eventually. That's why new games were so fun like Hollow Knight for example, but that's enough ranting for now, just know if you wanna ever get in any type of creation industry for a game or something, just remember to Innovate.
Realm rampage tried to mix innovative fun mechanics with pvp, which is why it doesn’t fit well with any players. Anyone trying to have fun are just invaded by sweats and sweats are usually just checking out the newest game before going back to somethinf like tsb
I've been saying this I hope this makes more creators try to innovate, I think realm rampage could of been popular if they added elevators and vehicles(innovated)
JJS feels like basic on combat and effects but they are as good as other battlegrounds while trying to look 'simple' without going off as basic. Like the finisher and moves have impact frames, but they are dynamic and do not need to be drawn or have locked cameras ect. He also doesnt have locked camera angles for his moves, there is free private commands, he is like one of the only devs to try a semi attempt at an anti team Also most of the combat part like the dashing is smooth in a good way, not "I feel like I slipped mid air" type of smooth
If anything original battlegrounds games like example tsb jjs and heroes will be the only ones that are always be alive and good because the battlegrounds games that are releasing now are just copy’s with either smoother combat or better vfx which doesn’t really even change much
I've been thinking the same thing M1 system is gettin repetitive, everyone gets toxic, and they're all just visuals... So. Screw your m1. Look up cursed chaos, a jjk based battlegrounds game that i will SOMEDAY seriously work on
Theres this game called Fatal Combat which is a battlegrounds game in development, they go the extra mile to add 8 moves to characters instead of the usual 4. They also have parrying, push counters, tile flipping and really good combat, its a good game for it being in early stages.
Sounds interesting, but I don't feel like a parry system would feel to good in a bg game. Now I do love parry systems, two of my favorite Roblox games have them(Deepwoken and Plenilune), but I don't think they would work to well in a bg game. Of course this is only my opinion though
It's more like a push counter system, like how you black flash in tsb, you can also flip the tiles that are in the middle of the map, and there's different variants of clashing.
Why is the strongest battlegrounds popular Because it started the trend so no one will get mad at it for being a copy because it’s the og Why was jjs popular? I’ll admit it I like it but people glaze it way too much. But it’s popular for a reason it is unique while being trash quality in terms of animation and combat it excels in other fields that people actually enjoy. And finally hero’s battlegrounds while at face value looks like another tsb clone hit when you actually play it you can see it’s very unique and has proper combat and on top of that arguably the best part of the game… the emotes, the best in all battlegrounds no doubt
Imo ur right. Although for me JJS grinding was diffrent. Unlike other games, JJS isn't too serious so it feels like i can take my time and grind when i want. Whereas in tsb for example, It feels like HAVE to grind. And when i reach a milestone in jjs for example 300 kills It makes me happy and excited.
The fact that JJS inspired so many other games to try their hand at destruction physics really shows how much of an impact innovation will have on the BG industry. I'm honestly shocked that more games didn't try specials too, they make the characters feel a lot more unique in playstyle. Might be one reason why RR fell off so hard, since all the characters play the exact same. (Its something to do with Garou in TSB and how every game copied that playstyle)
There’s also a unique battlegrounds game called monstrous battlegrounds and with seas battlegrounds they might just add a haki system I mean for the rework
Guys, should I make a battlegrounds game with like 4+ different really cool mechanics (im absolutely going to steal atleast 3 of them from other games)
@ Destruction (obviously), An energy bar on top of cooldowns so no one shot combos, ability to infuse additional energy into hits, quests, every character WILL have more than one ultimate unless they have like no transformations, and, of course, beam clashing cuz why tf not Anyways before all that I need to learn how tf I’m supposed to make a dash mechanic so I’m probably cooked
Idc about any other Battleground except Hero's battegrounds. Reason: It's dash and side dashes are smooth and instant, you can dash out of combos which you can't in TSB. The effects are clean and the moves are awesome
If I ever get to make a game, or a battlegrounds game, I would honestly just wannna add a lively city aesthetic with npcs you can fight. Also random stuff to do.
by "good combat" he means m1 trading, m1 hitboxes, side dashing, cooldowns, forward dashing, endlag, etc playing differently because of a specific character someone's using is practically universal for all battlegrounds games, most prominent one in my opinion being tsb
I'd say heroes is the best battlegrounds game. People say "the dashes are too fast!" then adapt. They also added air m1, where you can downslam on your first m1. They also have amazing animation, frequent updates, and like you said, progression. They have fast combat, how ult is supposed to be, a Trump card, almost everything you can ask for.
That’s why I play jojo games… they already had the time to innovate the game specifically aut. At this point aut isn’t even a jojo game anymore it’s a game with jojo characters in it lol. We’re getting Asriel soon. I do fw the first game you mentioned, it’s very nice.
i think fiction battlegrounds is unique because youre so free to move when using the moves, okarun's 1st move is a dash which is pretty cool, but the 4th move lets you run freely and then attack when you hit someone. and the ult, you also move when you activate the ult which is very fun. then when using ult all the moves are really fun, 1st move is a badass counter, 2nd is a run and slash, 3rd move is a badass startup and then you turn into a dragon. 4th move is rly cool too because you can freely move at the startup. so in short. I like fiction battlegrounds because its (very) fun
At this point we just need to break out of the simplicity of the original battlegrounds concept just to innovate. Onwards to the days where battlegrounds games will have overcomplicated mechanics 😭
One of the main problems is most battlegrounds are based off of anime, leading to multiple copies and such, I feel like people should be making new ones like for example: a SMBZ Battlegrounds, a Legend of Zelda Battlegrounds, or hell even a Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Battlegrounds, just something that isn't anime for once
Or using original characters. For instance the bg game my cousin and I are working on is going to have solely original characters like a martial artist that has gravity manipulation abilities
Battlegrounds in general as a genre is a type of game that wont last, they get very repetitive with little to no content fulfillment and just become mind numbing key presses.
Fun fact: there is a demon slayer fighting game which was made before tsb, and is called rouge demon, it has alot of different mechanics from normal battleground games spoiler alert: you can hit people on the floor with m1s. So basically its a “innovative” game even though it was made before battlegrounds had a name
If all these game skills combined between the 2 jujustu games and effects of mmm lets say heros it would probably take like a century or 2 to stale out
Honestly I have more issue with battleground games for the reason of how there is way too much focus on offensive approach in combat and there is barely any form of defensive playstyle life blocking is half the time more of a punishment than anything Literally a single combo deals almost your entire health because of how all moves deal way to much dmg The final m1 that people do in the air that just straight up is an automatic punish no matter what you do And at the end of the day most Bg games are more or less rush down the opponent and just kill them Or get hit by 1 m1 and get stuck in a cutscene In my opinion almost all bg games are just way too focused on offensive gameplay and just feel really unfair no matter what you and I feel like a fun battlegrounds game would we a game where you can also be able to well play the damn game TL:DR: i dislike how most battlegrounds games have almost no defensive playstyle or little to no counterplay Edit: of course the issues in the video are also valid and I agree that most bg games feel very much same. The issues i say are mostly my issues in bg games that are from personal experience.
Kinda disappointing that Skelle said Heroes Battlegrounds is the "goat of battlegrounds" Mastery quite literally just makes a battleground a simulator, sure there is some progression in it but the game is mainly just VFX over gameplay, front dash for example has like no end lag during it's start up so it appears as if someone is teleporting. The console players on here are pretty much the worst thing to ever ask for due to the slow gameplay, the only innovating thing i seen so far is Shigiraki. His ultimate has a little Quick time event same goes for his base 4th move. (This is the only thing that interests me in the game along with the unique emotes)
fruit battlegrounds i feel like is another innovative game because they add quests you can do to unlock a v2 for alot of fruits and you have to grind in the game to unlock your moves witch is actually pretty good even though most people afk grind its still a fun and innovative game

Yeah I was highly disappointed to see so many youtubers hype up fiction battlegrounds knowing its one of the most basic battlegrounds game we have gotten this year
Finally someone else realizes this, I think the game is ok but most of these newer battlegrounds games are very repetitive and seem like cash grabs
basically every bg game yet has been basic
Same thing with realm rampage. It was hyped up so much than a few months later it kinda died
Yeeees, this is why me my brother and my best friend started making our own bg game that has a teaming system that is actually fair, the game will not be based off of any anime or anything like that, but im also creating a comic, and the characters in the bg game im making are the characters from my comic, another thing im doing for it is admin entrances, basically anyone who is an admin will get their own spawn in animations, that is a cutscene specially made for certain youtube creators and anyone who has helped with the game that everyone in that server is forced to watch, i might post updates on my channel at some point, but the game might take a year or two cause my two bros that are supposed to be helping me with the game are being lazy lol, for anyone who wants to know what the name of the game is gonna be, its gonna be heavens battle grounds, by Draggons Domain studios, this will also be the first game i create so don’t be upset if it doesn’t live up to your expectations
so basically this game will never get released
@@hexa_yt not never, like i already said, it might take a few years
@@riverdraggon7993By the time it’s done the bg genre will be dead
@@MC_rep yeah that might happen, unless the already playable ones actually start doing what they should, besides if the genre does die i have a backup plan, it wouldn’t be a bg game, but it would be an arena fighter with the gameplay mechanics of for honor.
@ that’s a good idea in that case
The only real issue i have with jjs is the frequency of being jumped, when you have a high kill count and usually play pretty well, you’re more likely to just get jumped at random.
This, this is probably why everyone hates me in the server for sum reason
I guess that's kinda the point of jjs, it's supposed to be chaotic
@@RSankarNath chaotics fine, but teaming is miserable
@justaguywithagoodphoto4801 yeah, teaming is even worse than tsb
This is what I have always said, and the key to innovation in battlegrounds is simple:
STOP THE 1-2-3-4 SPECIAL FORMULA!!!
I hate this idea THE REASON BG GAMES ARE FAILING IS BECAUSE POOR CONSOLE SUPPORT MOST ROBLOX PLAYERS ARE CONSOLE
@@ryanrussum9924 frfr, it's either console players have no way to win or they get lock on and can't lose unless their skill issue is more massive than their hours online
4:50 bro this is so true Heros battleground is one of the best battlegrounds. Love the content❤❤.
I feel like expecting every game to innovate like jjs is kinda unfair. There’s only so many good ideas that work with bg games and I think that expecting every game to be some crazy rework of the entire battlegrounds formula is a bit much (I mean hey look at Eternal Battlegrounds lol)
(Edit: Thanks for mentioning my GOAT Heroes Battlegrounds)
I don't know. There is plenty of room for innovation in bg games. These games are at their core about beating up other players with cool powers and if you do well you get temporary access to a super mode. However, bg games all have the same bare bones combat system which is disappointing considering how combat is the most important thing in this style of game. That isn't to say that complexity is best, but bg games use combat system that in my opinion at least is to simple. I don't expect or even want these games to have a parry system, but they could include things like heavy attacks and evasives among other mechanics
Raiden is right
They don't think about innovation much
I think the problem with most bg games is that they are trying to copy tsb so bad, tsb is alive because they knew how to survive, even without an update they have an average playerbase of 170k to 200k, so, these bg cannot be copying tsb anymore, they gotta create something new.
I mean, it's a bg game, they kinda have to be similar in a lot of ways, right?
Thanks for the JJB recognition 🙏
THE GOAT!!!!!
Even though the game got completely abandoned Z battlegrounds was a great game, not only was it the first game to have masteries (I THINK) it also had a fusing mechanic which was super fun to use
YES Z battlegrounds was so good somebody needs to buy the game and update it I heard gohan mastery was supposed to come out too
@@SatoreyGojoyeah it actually had smooth combat and I really liked the teleportation thing for combos, it was really just a good game in all respects
(And lemme tell ya, it’s not that easy to achieve.) that has PROGRESSION
Besides that, overall cool map..somewhat of a nice playerbase that is FULL of clans! Clans are such a big deal in the game, so if you consistently play it there’s a lot of things to do. (Build ur rank, join a clan, explore the map, and terrorise everyone with Mob’s ult.)
..i tried my best not to seem like a glazer, but oml 😭 regardless, i still think it’s better than uh..cough cough, realm rampage.
Addition to the list:
Shonen Unleashed
Adds new things such as quests, leveling for characters (mastery, basically) and clashes with amazing vfx. They're really good, hope you try it!!😊😊
Shonen unleashed is waaaaaaaayyy different from typical battlegrounds games and is is more competitive
what i think would be a cool (but sweaty and unfair) thing is skill trees, for example, if you unlock a certain point in the skill tree your last m1 turns into a black flash like that thing that stain can do in heroes bg
@@connectionterminated7012 So like customizable movesets and passives for each character? That sounds pretty sick.
@@DrChaotix21 yeah. So you can spend 20 on hollow purple, or spend 10 on blue and 10 on some teleport hit move
Pls do not add leveling where u can only get moves by leveling up thats the problem with fruit battlegrounds
@MicahRoni. No I meant a separate gamemode
@MicahRoni. There's the normal gamemode then than the levelling game mode
not a battlegrounds at that point

i agree but one more major issue is how you are getting teamed on every .2 seconds and the toxicity. some games have emotes that are made for being toxic

i don’t think it’s good but i do agree it’s hella fun
Sorry man but The combat in JJS is so slow and clunky. And the balancing is booty aswell, Its a good game to goof around for a bit but when it comes to combat, Its just not good man.
@ it may be objectively bad but, I’ve never found games that just purely go for balance to be fun whatsoever, only frustrating
Im working on a game on roblox where you can create your own moves attacks and powers but the coding for that is horrendous😭

the difference is like combat and different techs. People try to become better at the games they are already good at, that is what makes them fun for some people
4:57 also kill emotes where you need to be near a dead person to use the emote
I'm currently making a battlegrounds game and it probably won't be that good but I'm making all the characters have real historical weapons and I want the animations to be the same as you would use them irl

Another problem is the new age rating
So every kid who has an age under 13 on Roblox can’t play any game with a age rating of moderate
Heroes battlegrounds had this problem for a little but they managed to change it
But shenanigans is still suffering this problem
Honestly I agree bg games do need to innovate. (Btw I’m early yay)

@PowerPlayerz100 fr, tsb is such a sweatfest, everyone just cares about combos and tech more than the actual game, leave it to overcompetitive kids to ruin it lol
@ I always hear people talk about techs and too this day I still
Don’t know what those are, words like those make the game seem so over competitive

They also have top that can give you rewards but no one plays it anymore I mean noone and absolutely no one plays top anymore
If you do I’d like to help with ideas in the making I have tons of ideas
@@Smoke-j1o Cool (I'm the same guy, just that I'm on my main rn)

The combos are brainrot
Realm rampage tried to mix innovative fun mechanics with pvp, which is why it doesn’t fit well with any players. Anyone trying to have fun are just invaded by sweats and sweats are usually just checking out the newest game before going back to somethinf like tsb
4:26 dont tell him about guilty gear
Not a battlegrounds game, it's a traditional fighting game
I've been saying this I hope this makes more creators try to innovate, I think realm rampage could of been popular if they added elevators and vehicles(innovated)
car racing in a bg game lmao
JJS feels like basic on combat and effects but they are as good as other battlegrounds while trying to look 'simple' without going off as basic. Like the finisher and moves have impact frames, but they are dynamic and do not need to be drawn or have locked cameras ect.
He also doesnt have locked camera angles for his moves, there is free private commands, he is like one of the only devs to try a semi attempt at an anti team
Also most of the combat part like the dashing is smooth in a good way, not "I feel like I slipped mid air" type of smooth
If anything original battlegrounds games like example tsb jjs and heroes will be the only ones that are always be alive and good because the battlegrounds games that are releasing now are just copy’s with either smoother combat or better vfx which doesn’t really even change much
I've been thinking the same thing

Why is the strongest battlegrounds popular
Because it started the trend so no one will get mad at it for being a copy because it’s the og
Why was jjs popular?
And when i reach a milestone in jjs for example 300 kills It makes me happy and excited.
fiction is so fun, i like trolling people with the emote
The fact that JJS inspired so many other games to try their hand at destruction physics really shows how much of an impact innovation will have on the BG industry. I'm honestly shocked that more games didn't try specials too, they make the characters feel a lot more unique in playstyle. Might be one reason why RR fell off so hard, since all the characters play the exact same. (Its something to do with Garou in TSB and how every game copied that playstyle)

The last time I saw something innovative was the aerial downslams In Heroes Battlegrounds. And that was one of the first Battlegrounds games
3:06 you just explained why the combat is good lol
by "good combat" he means m1 trading, m1 hitboxes, side dashing, cooldowns, forward dashing, endlag, etc
playing differently because of a specific character someone's using is practically universal for all battlegrounds games, most prominent one in my opinion being tsb
@@xanzalityguessing because of how the way each character is used?
Heroes Battlegrounds hitbox is bad sometimes, and how does a move like Delaware grab hit me when I’m downslammed if it’s grabbing the air
When he talks about build mode there are some amazing build mode maps in tsb
i think fiction battlegrounds is unique because youre so free to move when using the moves, okarun's 1st move is a dash which is pretty cool, but the 4th move lets you run freely and then attack when you hit someone. and the ult, you also move when you activate the ult which is very fun. then when using ult all the moves are really fun, 1st move is a badass counter, 2nd is a run and slash, 3rd move is a badass startup and then you turn into a dragon.

I'm eating frozen grapes while watching this and it made my day 10x better live laugh love skelle videos 😛😔🙏
Battlegrounds in general as a genre is a type of game that wont last, they get very repetitive with little to no content fulfillment and just become mind numbing key presses.
That's the whole point of this video. Bg games won't last long unless they start innovating
The other problem is for hero’s battlegrounds that mobile player keep disconnecting because their screen for them is crashing in the game
Players* excuse me
3:58 you know, makes me think of why PvZ GW2 was so good
Fun fact: there is a demon slayer fighting game which was made before tsb, and is called rouge demon, it has alot of different mechanics from normal battleground games spoiler alert: you can hit people on the floor with m1s. So basically its a “innovative” game even though it was made before battlegrounds had a name
If a bg game that has a genuinely good parrying system comes out best believe your seeing me on it 24/7
If you wanna count Plenilune as a bg game then it has a great parry system
Have u seen the insane shinjuku maps people have been cooking up 2:54
If all these game skills combined between the 2 jujustu games and effects of mmm lets say heros it would probably take like a century or 2 to stale out
Honestly I have more issue with battleground games for the reason of how there is way too much focus on offensive approach in combat and there is barely any form of defensive playstyle life blocking is half the time more of a punishment than anything
Literally a single combo deals almost your entire health because of how all moves deal way to much dmg
The final m1 that people do in the air that just straight up is an automatic punish no matter what you do
And at the end of the day most Bg games are more or less rush down the opponent and just kill them
Or get hit by 1 m1 and get stuck in a cutscene
In my opinion almost all bg games are just way too focused on offensive gameplay and just feel really unfair no matter what you and I feel like a fun battlegrounds game would we a game where you can also be able to well play the damn game
TL:DR: i dislike how most battlegrounds games have almost no defensive playstyle or little to no counterplay
Edit: of course the issues in the video are also valid and I agree that most bg games feel very much same.
(This is the only thing that interests me in the game along with the unique emotes)
fruit battlegrounds i feel like is another innovative game because they add quests you can do to unlock a v2 for alot of fruits and you have to grind in the game to unlock your moves witch is actually pretty good even though most people afk grind its still a fun and innovative
game
The only battlegrounds that always standing is MP…
I feel like eventually Battlegrounds games will have to have characters from other animes beacause there arent enough characters in one anime only
