David, I used ua-cam.com/video/37J5xcEzDZA/v-deo.html There is no need to forget the network, change DNS again, log in again. Just log into another network and switch back to your network with the altered DNS. Then hit next and wait for it to say that it was unable to make the connection to Apple server, click back and wait. It will then connect to alternate server. This works for iOS 9.2.1 on iPad Air 2 as well as iPhone 5s on same iOS. Just an FYI in case someone needs to use this method often. Easier than forget and repeat.

If you haven’t already updated to the latest version of iTunes, then you should do that as well. If you are on a newer Mac and no longer have iTunes

I did this, and I was watching the iOS 8 update video, I entered that DNS, it now doesn't give me an option to sign in under that iCloud, it actually says " connect to iTunes" below and when I click on it, it says " continue without wifi? You need a network connection to set up App Store, iTunes, iCloud, and other services" and then it gives me an option to continue or use wifi.
