I'm Italian and... I can feel it. That day I was 14... and I remember the delusion and the frustration, but also the epic effort to drive the match to the last penalty even many injuries and problems. Great fighters 'till the last second💕. We won the World Cup 12 years later btw.
Oh man! I am not even Italian and that match was my first football trauma. I was 9, and in that world cup I knew only 2 players, Romario and Roberto Baggio as they met in the finals I had to pick a side and it was pretty easy Brasil is thousends of kilometers away and Italy is just 100 km away (I am from Tunisia btw) so it’s closer then I am gonna support Roberto Baggio for the performance he had. And that look he had after he missed the penalty shot is still haunting me man. It’s a shame that he carried the whole team and then it ended up this way.
I was dating a girl in China in 2006 and we talked about the World Cup and both of us were rooting for Italy. I was American and she was Chinese so neither one of us had a dog in the fight.

I actually saw that game in '94 when I was stationed in Panama. Saw it on SCN in the Company rec room. Both teams were very well matched! It all came down to penalties, which gave Brazil the win. Many cases of beer were drunk that day!
This song from Nanowar of Steel is my favorite song they have done so far. This song sounds so much like a Sabaton Song and that made me love this song a lot. Sabaton is one of my favorite Metal Bands out there. I love how at the end of the video the singing just got a lot more intense then it was throughout the whole music video.

I don't know how much you know of the band Civil War, but the open vers is 100% sung in there style.
As a bit of history Civil War was orginial made up of ex-Sabaton members.
The band memebers still have good relations with them as the ex-Sabaton memebers returned for a anniversy show and played alongside the current line up, on both main stages at the same time at Wacken 2021.

It's a satyr since in some countries like Italy soccer is like a war, the names of the players are modified from the actual names of the players in 1994

funny enough he US women Soccer team is one of the best and most successful women national teams in the history of the sport ...
and the best part is that they always fight for equal pay even though they get over 20% (i heard they will pump that up even higher) of the revenue, where on the other hand all the male national teams only get about 7% ....

I've been calling these goofball geniuses the MONTY PYTHON OF METAL for years; ever since I saw the video for the new holiday classic Valhallelujah. If you haven't dove down the rabbit hole that is Nanowar of Steel, take an afternoon and check out the dozens of BRILLIANT parodies they've done. I find it amazing just how well they get the vibe and sound of the various bands and songs they do. Their new album 'Dislike to False Metal' is simply perfection from first track to last.
I think most people get over wars, the world despised the Germany after WW2, Im Scottish and can Tolerate the English. people never get over football. All we hear in Scotland in England 66. Im a Dundee United fan and still taunt the Dundee fans with 83. Pasadena 94 will be like yesterday to every Italian all over the world 😂

First time I saw this video yesterday I couldn't see the screen, I was laughing so hard I was crying. Mostly because I remember WC 1994.

First of all, for the countries who feel the football, every world cup final match is feeling like a war and a tale for remember for years. The 94 finals in EEUU is considerated the most boring football match ever in the history of the world cup because the Italians, Inferior in quality against Brazil (With Romario, Bebeto, Branco, Taffarel, Dunga, Ronaldao (not that Ronaldo) and Cafu) put in action the most boring way to play this game, the Catenaccio, a extremely defensive strategy with no place for the strikers to shoot to goal. This make a very tactical game and Brazil cant break the italian defense. (For those who are from the EEUU, the italians has a very long fame of being very aggresive and closed in defense, even appealing at dirtiest tricks and provocations, this is the famous "italian job") and the Italian National Team in 94 has the stars of the defense: Maldini and Baresi and a very aged striker, Roberto Baggio. For all, the italians has no chance in the world cup, but certain events (like the "dopage" of Maradona, the fall of the German and England teams) make them to the finals against the best team, Brazil. and they lose in penalty shootouts with an unforgivable deviant shoot from Baggio

This is hilarious! Btw the J in Joakim is pronounced pretty much like the Y in yellow or yard, the O is kind of just an O, and the A is like the U in gun or fun, if that makes sense.
Yup, it's basically: Yo, a Kim!
To break it down even further: If you would be in North Korea and see one of their leaders you'd go: "Yo! A Kim!!"...And that's how you pronounce Joakim in any Nordic country :)

Hi Jen I just saw your video on planet fitness, do they really have cracks in doors on Planet Fitness doors? I have never seen anything like that on any gym door. Since when do they have cracks on gym doors and if so why would they even have them anyway?
In the bathroom stalls they do. Nearly every damn bathroom here in the states does. I wish I knew why. There’s like a 1.5” gap. I can walk by stalls and look and see if they’re occupied, but I simply look for feet

As an American myself, I can probably vouch for Jen in saying that Yes, we generally don't care that much about Fútbol. We don't even care that much about Football. Once a season is over, it is practically forgotten as there's always next season, and because Pro-Teams tend to move around from time to time, it's sometimes difficult to maintain loyalty to a team. Not to mention the frequency of players getting traded to other teams. This is why College Football is often more popular than the NFL because colleges are stationary establishments, and the alumni of those schools will always maintain a sense of loyalty no matter where they move to after graduation.
But the truth of the matter is that while Europe and South America puts so much gravitas on their national teams and pro-league teams, that they become a part of your identity, Americans typically do not do this. I would say American national identity is more defined by our military if nothing else. As grim as that sounds, it kinda is what it is, ya know?. Our aerospace industry is another kind of identifier. With NASA and now several other private companies like SpaceX, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop-Gruman, Astra, and a few others.

And your also right on the military being America's "thing" so to speak. I know I'm dang proud of it, granted it's great big hungry beast, but better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.

They once played in Crimea in 2015, after Putin had annexed it. It was organized by a biker gang with close ties to the Kremlin, and when people picked up on that years later, despite band members saying they take no sides and play where people ask them to play, the band lost their endorsement from the Swedish government and the Swedish Armed Forces when they recorded _Livgardet_
They were also set to receive a Public Educator Award from the Swedish Skeptics Association, but due to this fact coming to light, it's currently under review and they might not get it.
Wow. That’s really sad. What did people expect? Sabaton to run extensive background checks on who books them?! What a shame.

That time i was teen and i was so into brazil....nowadays my fav team team in world cup is Italy. Greatest usa sport event is handegg and nobody else is interested of that. Best thing is (you know you can't have all channels or paid streaming services so like back in the days...use torrents.) in torrents there was half time show...maybe there was actual game but nah...tells something.
