  • The Lavino sulphurous springs territorial park is a protected natural area of approximately 40 hectares, established in 1987 and located in the municipality of Scafa, in the province of Pescara.
The park falls within the territory of Decontra, a hamlet of the municipality of Scafa, its manager. Its area sees the presence of the Lavino river with its sulphurous waters, hence the name, which originates in the Santo Spirito Valley, located within the Maiella National Park, to then flow into the Aterno-Pescara river. The river has powered with its waters four hydroelectric power plants, six mills and a sawmill, located along its course.
Of the mills, only the Farnese mill, dating back to the 16th century, is currently present.
The park's flora includes various species of arboreal, herbaceous and floral plants, including maple, poplar, willow and hornbeam.
