I’m assuming that’s the goal with this story. Onaga would be good to bring back. Timelines will still probably come into play though, so we can have characters that are otherwise dead.

If I had to guess, Shang Tsung is probably earthrealms champion instead of Liu Kang or it's a timeline where good and evil switched sides
I really want them to fall off this alternate timeline deal and just focus on the new timeline Lui Kang has built.
