I wonder if Israel doesn’t have spaghetti and meatballs. To be honest I didn’t grow up with it either, so it is weird to see. It’s also just kind of gross, maybe he was trying to be polite lolol
For maximum flavour add more tomato purée and water to your sauce and then finish cooking meatballs in the sauce simmering on low for 45 minutes. The toss your pasta in the sauce first so all the noodles are coated then add meatballs on top. Most Italians will also use a mixture of ground beef, pork, and veal.
Exactly! With the amount of tomato paste she added, she could have easily added another can, if not two more cans of sauce or puree. I agree with everything else you said as well. My grandmother was Italian and that's how she made hers. Sometimes she would add a diced bell pepper and fresh basil to her sauce.
marinara sauce recipe: 1/2 red onion diced 1/2 yellow onion diced 1/2 sweet onion diced 5 cloves garlic minced 4 oz tomato paste 1 cup white wine pino grigio is best fresh oregano and basil two 28 oz cans marizano tomatoes saute onions until almost clear, add garlic cook 2 minutes add tomato paste, add wine, mix well and reduce by half. add tomatoes and cook for 30 minutes or up to 2 hrs on simmer. turn heat off and add chopped basil and oregano and blend with a stick blender until smooth or use a blender to blend until smooth. sauce will be pretty chunky if not blended. this is an excellent sauce, can be used as pizza sauce too. or to make lasagne. can cook meatballs in it too. its the best marinara you will ever have.

The onion needs to cook for much longer than the garlic. Maybe wait until the onion is cooked (they will become clear/ translucent/ see-through) then add the garlic and let it turn golden brown. It needs to cook before you add the tomato paste and sauce. And the more paste you add the thicker it will become. 🖤 Also use salt for the pasta water not oil.
