There needs to be a comedy movie about the guys who "borrowed" the Egg from a props warehouse somewhere but it wasn't the right crate, and they had to make it work. 😂🥚🚚
My thoughts on the Streamys are perfectly encapsulated by the fact that Dream got nominated for the Gamer award, but ProtonJon (Who basically created Gaming UA-cam as we know it) has, to my knowledge, never been nominated for one, which really goes to show how little the people in charge actually care about the event and what it represents.
Amanda doing this video in front of her door is giving so much nostalgia 😄 but also thanks souch for being so transparent about details and how to get into events and the actual process how these things work. I could watch Amanda apply for McDonald's and enjoy every minute of it
I’ve worked on awards shows but not the Streamys. In answer to your question at 17:00 on who picks the categories to be in the show, it’s highly likely that it was a co-decision between the awards team and the production team, consisting of producers and a director who have all been hired because they have experience running awards shows. On these bigger shows, the awards team, which I would assume is UA-cam here , and production team tend to be separate. The awards team would be keeping track of who’s winning and obtaining the envelopes with the winner’s names. The production team would likely not know who the winners will be but are in charge of the show’s run time and order to a certain extent. Categories can get moved around based on who is coming and who the nominees are that have the biggest star draw. The producers are likely not young and super UA-cam aware so there was most certainly debates behind the scenes on which categories are more desirable than others. They likely had a list with even more categories that were then nixed before the Streamys nominations even opened. The Department head of the Talent team which works under production would be responsible for confirming the talent that was coming and making sure they are where they are supposed to be. I would say it is highly likely the production team knew who would be there and who would not. All of this to say, things could be different since the Streamys are a digital awards show rather than a traditional one for cable.
Amanda, you don't nominate yourself, you submit your work! If it makes you fell less weird to do this, tell yourself that every single person who won a Grammy or an Oscar had to submit their work for those awards! Every years, labels submit their artists' work for different categories (if the artists want to... last year The Weeknd said he'd ask his label to not submit his work for Grammy anymore... don't know if he actually did it... is he nominated this year? I'd have to look this up). You don't have a label or a production company, so you have to do it yourself. But it's not weird and it's not pretentious, and you deserve to be nominated! Also, the voters (don't remember the actuel term for them) who vote for the Grammys and the Oscars receive packages from the people who submitted their works. Usually it's a physical copy of the album or the movie (depending on which award we're talking about), but actual gifts are sent with them... to a point that rules had to be made! (Because you're more inclined to vote for someone who gave you a bottle of Champagne Veuve Clicquot or a piece of jewelry from Cartier!). So, really, submit your work next year. Maybe you won't be nominated (even if you deserve to be), but you'd try and that's perfectly fine to want recognition from your hard work!
Whenever I assume something's gonna potentially be fancy I always dress business casual or semi formal. Saves me time and helps me stick out less just in case it's the complete opposite of what was assumed.
Every time you get compliments and recognition it just warms my heart to see you so delighted. Im so thankful you got to go and share your experience with us.

I went did my 2 check ups and they were surprised with my recover time so if you want look into it and get the no prescription glasses they are cheaper to buy and don't suck when you loose them
@Ana Pie you will be wake during it but they use numbing drops and kinda position you and I think it was like 2 mins each eye they then move you to another machine they do the actual surgery which is another 5 mins each and then some quick instructions and boom vision. I had FEMTO-LASIK surgery and I can't recommend it enough 😭 pre-op they give you numbing eye drops and sanitize (is that the right term?) your lids and the area around it, then you go into the OR and you lay down underneath the machine, the doctor will insert the forceps (?) that keep your eyes open and a tube like thing on your eyeball?? I couldn't see it I only felt it, then you just have to focus on the red flickering light until the doctor tells you it's over, you don't feel anything at all, the only terrifying thing is that when they lift your cornea flap everything goes dark and you can only see the flickering light 💀💀💀 Post-OP was really easy you just have to keep your eyes closed for the next 24 hours. What was uncomfortable in that period is that I felt a thick THICK hair in my eyeballs (which I assume is the cornea flap?) But that feeling vanished the very next morning Overall 10/10 experience

I'm very UwU to see it again! 😟😟💯🔥
The category you would definitely gave qualified for was an automatic win for Drew Gonzalez, I mean Danny Gooden, I mean, what was his name?
It’s always a swell day when you end it with an Amanda video
8:13 HOLY FUCK 🥵
I had FEMTO-LASIK surgery and I can't recommend it enough 😭 pre-op they give you numbing eye drops and sanitize (is that the right term?) your lids and the area around it, then you go into the OR and you lay down underneath the machine, the doctor will insert the forceps (?) that keep your eyes open and a tube like thing on your eyeball?? I couldn't see it I only felt it, then you just have to focus on the red flickering light until the doctor tells you it's over, you don't feel anything at all, the only terrifying thing is that when they lift your cornea flap everything goes dark and you can only see the flickering light 💀💀💀
Post-OP was really easy you just have to keep your eyes closed for the next 24 hours.
What was uncomfortable in that period is that I felt a thick THICK hair in my eyeballs (which I assume is the cornea flap?) But that feeling vanished the very next morning
Overall 10/10 experience
12:16 you can see Pete and banana in front at the table talking🤣 he was so worried he was the only one filming.
"Credit card for content creators" sounds like something that's going to become a huge talking point at some point in the future.
I'm calling fake channels getting a card and ensuing legal drama/discussion for mid-2023.
bestie your the only youtuber i would even bother watching now and the only one i have post notifications on- bestie you deserve a streamy 😭
OMG girl!!! THAT DRESSSSS!! Yes as soon as it showed up on video I was like that WAS MADE for you
i’ve been binging ur vids all week and was so surprised to see uploaded 20 minutes ago😭
That purple dress looked absolutely fantastic on you
Two days ago I wondered about that door knob, and here it is!
Nice dress as well.
Love Swell videos, I learn so much about things I never cared about 😂❤
Next step for Amanda: I hosted the Steamys so you didn't have to
Swell's 2023 arc is going to be quest for the egg!
Love that you're using the mic. It sounds so good compared to hearing the room reverb all the time.
Your travel setup is so much better haha, please keep using it.
10/10 video. I just know that retention is high lmao thank you for sharing your perspective !!!
So at what point is Amanda going to go to the Oscars to review it?
Only a few minutes into this video, and I have to say that dress looks like it was made for you. Gorgeous!
That dress is ICONIC
Not sure if you're aware Amanda but Michelle Khare is looking for a 5'2 UA-camr to box. Seems like it would be right up your alley - she mentioned it on Try Guys Keith Eats KFC live
Hell yeah, read the title and am SO proud ❤️💐🍾
So often I wish I lived in the US so I could make props for youtubers I like. You want a giant egg? That's literally my job. But I'm on the wrong continent so shipping will be a huge hassle...
Didn't know the streamys still existed. Don't really care cause I don't know who 95% of these people are, the 5% is probably just you and Corridor crew who your table was near, love those guys. Don't really understand why there needs to be an awards show for online creators. There is far too many creators in various niche corners collectively uploading insane amounts of content in a year to possibly satisfy anyone with an awards show. It's not like movies or video games where in comparison really doesn't release much in a year
That dress looked great on you btw
The purple dress is everything.
What other gossip was there at the after party? Who hates who, who was too drunk? I’m glad you had a good time but I need more info about the after party
Yesssssssssss
She makes it a policy not to discuss the creators she meets at these events.
Yes we need a regular gossip column from swell
@@Shadeadder I feel like I remember her talking about creators at whatever the TikTok con was called, but I could be misremembering. Either way, I definitely have respect for that approach.
I don't care about the event, or any other event, but I'll watch anything that Amanda is commenting on.
I bet the "family situation" is Amanda getting so deep into dabloon dept she had to move back home.
I got lasik last year and wish I had done it a decade earlier. It is amazing to be able to lay in bed and see a clock, or even a TV!
ITS THE DOORKNOB THIS IS NOT A DRILL THIS IS THE DOORKNOB. AND SHE HAS A MICROPHONE???
God Amanda ur doing things to me rn
i love the "i just operate as if it's going to work out" maybe since the year is ending you could make a video of all the things that unfortunately didn't work out/videos you wanted to make but couldn't for whatever reason
The leg slit SLAYED and you looked SO tall? Tbh you have tall person energy? I’m 5’9 but everyone thinks I am way shorter.
You should pull a devil wears prada and hire someone to follow you around to remind you of peoples names and what they do 😌
god the dress is so gorgeous. nobody stop me I have to get a leg slit dress immediately
also omg I feel the same way about contact lenses, they are NASTY
I backed up twice to confirm but for some reason was incredibly excited to see how close Amanda was to Corridor Digital, lol. Can't miss Niko's hair haha.
Side note:
Yes to everything you said about contacts/lasik.
