Maybe he can't entirely control it. That's why it revives helpful things that help link. But he takes it as a worthy trade off to still revive his army. But it really replenishes everything.
Maybe it's a case of the enemy of my enemy is my friend, so they might not be exactly allies but if the talus is trying to kill link and so is Ganon it would be very sensible to work together
When I first got off the great plateau, I still didn’t know how to attack them. I found the senior one and was like ”Not this thing again!” and then saw a guardian stalker and was like ”THOSE THINGS HAVE LEGS?” because I was already on the plateau 75 hours thinking the bomb shrine was a guardian.
Could also explain the multiple-impact craters! Perhaps the original Talus meteorite split while descending and the smaller pieces became the Pebblits? Good stuff fellow theorist
Could also be a type of living rock that were expelled from Death Mountain. Actually it makes sense. Gorons don’t just eat any type of rock afterall. For all we know, their miners are slaying them for their “rock meat”.
I remember the Moon's Tears of Termina being a persistent legend, while there are also the shooting stars in BOTW. And, (mind is fuzzy/less resources in Hospital) I recall a character obsessed with some type of "space" travel or objects. Anyways, I think many of the Boss enemy designs are easy to compare to aliens already. Doesn't seem too farfetched when called "Star Creatures" or whatnot.
Sounds like the Bomb Shop owner in Clock Town. He wasn't interested in traveling through space, he just wanted to be the first man on the moon. He had blueprints and even a prototype rocket in his shop.

I can definitely relate to that intro, it's insane how much content this game actually has! Great video man, I was working on something more or less along the same lines as your ideas. Glad I held off and avoided a double up lol. Really enjoyed your presentation of this too :)
I really like this theory, but I want you to know that Stone Talus Senior and Junior in the italian version of the game have different names: Stone Talus Maggiore and Minore. In italian maggiore and minore (in the case of a family) mean Elder and Younger (often refered to siblings) and, if I'm not wrong, you find that 2 Talus at the Twin mountains (I don't know how they are called in english). So I think that they aren't dad and son but they are two twins that fell around the same time.
Senior and junior is referhing to the same as in Italian. Her in Norway it means The elder and the younger as you wrote in the family. Siblings. Like the idea of the Talus been from outer space. I had newer seen those before. Only played Ocarina and forth.
Since so many languages (including japanese, the original language) refer to them explicitly as brothers, we can assume that is the actually intended meaning.
the fondness in ur voice at 9:15 comes off like you're positively delighted by the concept of an alien rock family :) they are parent and child... good for them 🪨🪨👨👦
For all that I'm convinced we're watching as a fictional country expands across a fictional planet, the concept of aliens as an actual thing never occurred to me, which is strange since I absolutely loved Majora's Mask. I wonder if the Sheikah, with their fascination with the stars and their insanely advanced tech and ridiculously powerful seers, had knowledge of them? Makes me wonder if Hylia was an alien and the royals didn't want their alien heritage exposed. Then again, if the royals were alien-descended, the Sheikah would have known it from the start. This is an idea that sounds more and more fun to play with LOL. And yes, I do apparently have an unhealthy fascination with the Sheikah.
@@arcticdino1650 There might be different races of aliens, but I don't think the royals are alien-descended to begin with lol. It's just a fun idea for piss-takes I like poking around with for my own amusement. I can't imagine a Talus wearing Hylia's robes, though the mental image is funny.
The difference is that with "ancient aliens" we can be very certain they weren't, but we can never be 100% sure until some show up and say "nope, wasn't us or anybody we know" For the game, it all lies in the hands of the creators and what they want them to be.
I’ve always thought this after seeing that crater. There’s also a large hole, similar to a crater, to the west of the Talus by Hateno Village with pebbles inside.
I honestly think it was the area Skyloft was made from. I know most people say the pre Skyward Sword manga isn't canon, but it's small craters, like the small islands surrounding the Knight Academy; the main island itself could have been what used to be the castle. After reading the manga and thinking about those holes, I really think it's where the First Hero sent the people to the sky. It would be really cool if it was. Awesome video, as always.☺️
A few nitpicks: -Senior and Junior don’t always refer to familial relations, they sometimes just have to do with age. One older, one younger. Senior Citizens, junior associates (or groups of youths called junior, especially in church settings. And tween&teen girl clothing is simply called the Junior section and sized slightly smaller than adult women’s clothing.) -If Link can kill stonies simply by chucking them, then there’s literally no way they’d survive crashing to the planet below via falling out of orbit. So...the craters were made by Talus Eggs. Lots of them. From there they wander around, mature, and eventually reproduce. As far as WHY there’s still a mature Talus and Stonies around the craters? That crash site is simply their nesting ground, with one Talus left behind to defend the youngest while others eventually wander into the rest of Hyrule. Rinse, Repeat. Life cycle complete. And instead of being Proper Aliens...they kinda act more like Fauna. Still extraterrestrial, but hardly sapient. There’s probably several Talus out in space and other celestial objects like moons, planets, and other space rocks floating in space or even belts and rings. Hyrule just happened to get struck a few time, but mostly in a single event (and probably with the eggs themselves within meteors vs being the meteors themselves.) ONE possibility though: could the Gorons actually be evolved from Talus (Tali?) much, much earlier in Hyrule’s history? It’d also explain why they exist in regions like Labrynna and Holodrum despite these lands being oceans apart from Hyrule (as seen in the Linked Game credits) and Gorons kinda adverse to water since they sink (although they survive it, it’s just inconvenient) - More offtopic: But Marin predates Malon by several years, and actually has strawberry blonde hair, not ginger/red. All the two really have in common is the Singing Girl Disney Princess trope (and Malon’s name sounding like it’s derived from *Marin’s*) Marin also allegedly looks identical to Zelda, with the Zelda1 Zelda even having strawberry blonde hair and a pink dress in her concept art, and Oracles Zelda and Marin sharing a sprite (with Oracles Zelda *also* having strawberry blonde hair vs True Blonde hair) To digress even further than that: Thematically Marins shares much more with Aryll (seagull obsession, islander, mistaken for Zelda, kidnapped by monsters) than she ever does Malon. Marin also bears some similarities with BotW Zelda: yet again the hair, an insane inner power, both voices being the first and last thing Link/the player hears (with the lowering&waking from the Resurrection Shrine and Awakening mirroring falling in&out of the Windfish’s Dream), both women pleading with the Links to “remember them/don’t forget them”. The Ballad of the Windfish even plays for the Ruined Hyrule Castle Theme (with the Triforce Trio’s themes tossed in as well on occasion) ...which despite that earsplitting racket in MM Of The Same Name, this is the first time the Song is even referenced at all canonically (although I think Smash Brawl has a collectable remix)
An interesting question is how they survived the reentry. Generally speaking large meteors vaporize on impact and only the smaller ones actually make it to Earth then again we've seen what happens when one of these creatures gets exposed to extreme temperatures and it's not what typically happens to a creature
An alternative theory is that the Taluses seek out rare minerals to consume, and you find them in the craters because they ate the meteorites then took a nap. I know that they drop rare minerals when you kill them, and if they are more commonly found near ore deposits that would support this theory.
there is also a few craters that are near hateno village that are both obvious and obscured at the same time as they are north-west of the settlement and said crater is full of pepplits, ore-nodes and stones.
I realize too late I missed a good Metroid Prime joke opportunity that Link should’ve got thunked in the head by a rock every time he killed a Talus... Thardus is displeased.
I just pictured how they got scattered across the map. "go my little pebble go see the world your shell has hardened enough to leave the crater and start your own." *YEETS PEBBLE ACROSS THE MAP* "fly well my son."
I wouldn't be surprised if the Taluses are from space. We constantly have space references throughout the franchise besides "Them". Such as the importance of the Astral Observatory, the constellation observations in Wind Waker, and even in the shrines. I thought it was interesting in Breath of the Wild how stuff would literally fall from the skies. You see the red comets and can track them to go find treasure from space. I wouldn't be surprised if more stuff came from space
My crazy theory, and it's been said before: the Gisa crater is the impact crater from where the moon destroyed Termina in Majoras Mask, and the stone talus' are fragments of the evil moon. What makes this even more interesting is the small forest area south of the crater, the tall mountains north and east, and what would resemble a shoreline and a bay if it were filled with water to the west. Maybe it's just a coincidence, or maybe it was thrown in by the developers as a goof, who knows.
Usually when you hear Aliens your mind mostly goes to UFOs or those hyper intelligent humanoid things with big heads, but what I think the Stone talisus (whatever they’re called) (sorry) are, is a mutation like Fungi or something that clung itself to an asteroid, then finally crashed, so over hundreds of years or less they got bigger and smarter
If an object as large as the Stone Talus came down from Space, the crater would be MUCH larger. Being ejected out of death mountain, is more plausible, although even in that case, the crater would be larger. Also, the Pebblets would never have survived impact (they break, when Link throws them). So, there would be no crater, just some dust, because they would likey have broken apart during atmospheric entry.
*after teleported moblin has turned inside-out and exploded* Jerrin: "Hold, please." Link: "Hey, wait a minute, guys... the moblin is gone. Why are they still yelling, 'Talus'?" Purah: "Symin, activate the translation rune." Bokoblins: "Talus... rock, rock, rock, rock! Oh!" (they run) Jerrin: "Link, I don't think the moblin was Talus." Link: "What are you talking about?" *Stone Talus forms, battle music starts* Link: "..."
@@RpTheHotrod Honestly I'd argue they just exist. They might not be intelligent aliens, just space roamers looking for planets or asteroids to land on amd reproduce.
I loved this vid! Well-researched and delightfully narrated (as always lol). Three things from my weird brain: 1) I'm pretty sure some of the Taluses were *placed* where you find them (specifically that one in Faron...) as kind of a coming-of-age ritual. My evidence for this is simple: Sometimes you'll find them surrounded by architecture on very flat, important-looking areas, almost like arenas? Maybe part of the ritual was to retrieve a gem from the talus? 2) The taluses are not of Hyrule, which means they interact with the magics of the world. They piggyback along with Ganon's creatures because they have a strong drive for survival and have somehow bound themselves to the magic... or maybe it's because they are FROM THE MOON?!?!?! What if they come back not because of Ganon specifically but because of the *moon*? 3) Doesn't the Great Plateau Talus rest in a divot surrounded by curiously rocky walls? Do you think that could be a very old crater that has filled in with greenery and life due to its location?
An interesting detail about the stone talus’ is that they, like the rest of the monsters in hyrule, revive upon the rise of the blood moon. This could imply that they are simply rocks imbued with the evil power of malice, or possibly even fragmented pieces of the blood moon that have fallen to the earth (forming craters). The blood moon piece theory might also explain why other enemies target them, since it’s never explicitly stated whether the blood moon is directly a result of malice or just a natural event that happens to have dark, mystical qualities.
I think the only roadblock to this theory is that you need to prove that they didn't just walk into the crater after it was made, maybe seeking the meteorite in the middle.
Great theory I've been watching your content for a while and always love it. My own theory has been that since even the baby pebbles have precious stones in them, that they have to around and collect these stones to mature to a full grown talus. That they get their life from these precious stones some how, this makes sense as they have the rock on their head that leaves them vulnerable. Obviously this would imply that there should be adolescent ones as well but figured the developers just didn't want to make them. Keep up the great work! Edit: this would also explain how they reproduce, not with another talus but by finding precious stones. I could be wrong but after watching your video this is what I thought made sense.
Theory: Stone taluses weak spot is a rock that contains ore. But the thing is that you can find rocks like that all around Hyrule.and Stone pebblits doesn’t have that same weak spot as the grownups because there “skin” is to weak. I believe that if something has a weak spot Ganon can revive it if he wants to. Now I’ll explain why Ganon could do that. Bokoblins, moblins n lizalfos all have a weak spot there head that’s there weakest spot they have what I know I know this theory has bad grammar and contains a lot of holes 🕳 but I just thought of something and shared it Love your vids bandit
@@AlmyTheAlien what I'm getting from this is that you beat the stone talus' by slicing their junk. Which makes sense, it's the most vulnerable part of most creatures.
It’s cool that they are like living creatures because in irl nature, creatures adapt and change to better suit their environment which we can see with the different texture models of the various Talus
In all of the Talus theorys everyone always ignores the boss Thardus from Metroid Prime who was clearly an inspiraton for the Talus even down to the name, that might even explain why it's implied that it comes from space.
I stopped keeping up to date with Nintendo games about 10 years ago, but like to check in every now and then to build a list of what to play when I get back into consoles. My first thought upon seeing this video of exploding alien rock creatures in my suggested videos was: "... switch to thermal visor and then also check for blue mutated growths in the surrounding landscape" Even though they have similarities, the Talus shouldn't really be related to Thardus since all the Phazon in existence was supposedly simultaneously destroyed... Unless Thardus is retconned as a mutated Talus and the Space Pirates just didn't know. I think that'd be kinda cool.
@@__jonbud______________________ @Jon Bud I know. I'm not trying to say that the Zelda and Metroid universes are conected (that would be actually pretty sick tho) but rather that maybe the Talus in the crater is a reference to another stone golem with similar name and similar looks already in a nintendo game that happens in space. But everyone always forgets.
@@JessidGallardo A lot of the different series are vaguely connected. Donkey Kong and Mario is one of the obvious examples but there seems to be things that echo or cross between worlds, like Mario's enemies and Kirby-like enemies in Link's Awakening. Some of it seems slightly ambiguous and a lot of it just looks like Easter eggs put in for a laugh. The Zelda series has tons of stuff that doesn't seem like it's meant to be read into too seriously, but implies an almost joking connection to the worlds of different games. Metroid however, seems a bit more serious as a series and being more directly connected to worlds/realms like Hyrule, Mushroom Kingdom, and Dreamland would be slightly at odds with the tone and feel of the series. I personally think the different worlds/realms/universes are connected in varying degrees, especially with the different paths between worlds/realms in some games. As far as I'm concerned though, they're part of the same multiverse and the Metriod series' universe just doesn't seem to have any significant direct paths to the other worlds (aside from the existence of an obscure "dark" dimension and possibly some kind of "astral plane" given the psychics/ghosts)
@@JessidGallardo I'd also find it hilarious if it got implied in-game that the Oocca were the distant ancestors of the Chozo or somehow related, but I doubt that'll ever happen.
Amazing theory, as usual. I was recently introduced to your channel and fell in love with your theories. Seriously, you're an amazing theorist and all the research that you put into your videos makes them so much better. Keep up the beautiful work, my friend.
Turns out that the craters aren't "craters" in the normal sense, but more like nests for the taluses. Like what if the craters were formed by taluses digging out rocks from the ground to grow and make new ones?
OMG imagine if in botw2 there was a quest to find the background of the taluses and at the end you fought a giant talus! Like 5 times bigger than the normal ones
Personally I think it's possible that some, but not all, taluses originate from space. I theorize that pebblits can be formed anywhere that stone can be found, including both deep underground and in asteroid belts, which would explain how some are found without an accompanying crater to mark their fall from space.
IF they crashed onto “planet Hyrule” (laughed at that!) then they couldn’t have been baby stonies otherwise they would’ve blown up like when Link tosses them (also why I doubt the small ones made the smaller craters). Now it’s possible there were stone taluses inside a larger space rock that survived an impact. It’s also possible they just like chillin in those nice craters - like it’s a nest for them or something. Either way Stone Talus bosses are so cool, and the music is great! (More music in BotW 2 please and for the love of Hylia give us the overworks theme in a grand orchestra like the game deserves!
I still think they are from death mountain cause talus can move right, and also hinoxes can be targeted by guaridans. Also they could walk around hyrle or land in places thousands of years ago so ththe terrain is covered up. What about how igneo talus have crackes that are held together with magma while the other s are comepletely solid, implying that the magma dried up. The pebblits could be broken off pieces of full size talus' which can also make large craters at a high enough velocity. Sorry for being a sceptic, but I don't think talus' are aliens.
Stone taluses also don't explode into malice. I really want to see the stone taluses join Hyrule in the fight against Ganon that would be sick as hell.
Another reason there aren't craters all over Hyrule could be erosion. Craters don't last forever, which means the one in a crater would be the most recent one to arrive
I love this theory, but I don't think it was an accident landing in hyrule, I feel as if it was an invasion. They may of all landed in the creators and invaded the lands, destroying homes and villages where they walked. It really seems like an invasion to me due to them killing humans, the top of the food chain, on sight. Maybe they feel as if they kill all the humans, they can rule the lands for themselves, taking planet by planet. Maybe they have a purpose. And to add further to this, i found one stone talus in a swamp with many destroyed houses that looked smashed to pieces right next to it, they have no hesitation to run at humans, and unlike other monsters, they wont simply protect where they live. They will chase you and not stop until you are fully gone, if your in the corner of its eye it will see you and charge at you. It also is not distracted by any sound, ive blown up bombs near it, whistled near it and it has no sign of hearing, maybe its unfamiliar with noises and sound, or it cant hear at all. Personally, i think ganon revives these beasts knowing its out to kill humans, maybe killing humans is all its goal is. To rampage with no end.
Always love a theory that sparks my imagination. Well done! Gonna be pondering this one for a while. The Guardian vs Talus is really a tasty nugget. Will they do this of their own accord, or do you need to “trick” them into fighting by drawing one into crossfire?
I actually did indeed know exactly what and where he was referring to when he said "Gisa Crater"... because I go rare talus hunting every blood moon to do some gem farming. Both that one and the one on the path on the way to Rito Villiage are just a short glide away from Tabantha Tower.
First. I love your theories there epic! What's your favourite zelda game? Mines majoras mask and botw I do the legend of zelda music themes on my channel Also does anyone know how to record on the wii u, Nintendo switch or Nintendo 2ds?
The craters are *way* too shallow for them to be meteorites, I think you underestimate the force that a boulder weighing many tons can deliver when hurled miles into the air and across a great distance.
As for the pebblits being babies, maybe it is similar to trees and saplings. With our trees the bark stays similar in size but the inside with the rings grows. Maybe Taluses are the other way around. The center of pebblets is an organic part but the skin is only thin rock. As it grows the inside with organs stays the same size but the skin enlarges to be unpenetrable. It also needs to grow a "mouth" with is the ore part since it's rock skin is too hard. P.S ignore the bad or wrong spelling.
What about Chu-Chus? They are the only monsters that don't explode into Malice when they die. Also, I think the physical appearance of Them is in fact to alien references. The first is of course the Flatwoods Monster, but if you look at just the torso it looks a lot like the Daleks from Dr Who.
I found the Gisa Crater while I was online searching talus locations for the Medal of Honor. I apparently missed 5, then got the panic blood moon. After all, I killed 35 taluses, the talus titan, the molduga, molduking, and Lynels, bokoblins, moblin, lizalfos, and guardians. So the panic blood moon makes sense, as the memory had to be overloaded at that point so it reset. I know about it since I looked up a video after seeing someone got it at 12:00 am and 1:00 am, and after the video looked it up. So it was probably that.
I think that the senior junior taluses refer to the side of the duelling peaks they are on. As the side which senior is on is larger, and junior is on the smaller peak, not necessarily age
I wish that hood things link wore in the pic existed The hylian hood is cool but I mostly use it as a cloak rather so Because... it's... literally a cloak... hoods are just parts of clothes that cover the head, cloaks have hoods, they're just hooded capes basically.
A very interesting theory, however it fails to explain the elemental Frost and Igneo Talus's that also exist in certain areas of Hyrule, nor why the ore deposits on their bodies are points of vulnerability. It does seem likely that the Taluses (Talusses? Tali?) came from outer space, given the crater, however I think it is also plausible that these monsters are regular stone that has been animated via magic (which would also explain their ability "regrow" lost limbs from the surrounding rock). Perhaps the ore deposits are points of vulnerability for the Taluses because the minerals within are magical, and thus the source of the Talus' life. We already know that most if not all gemstones in Hyrule posses magical properties, so perhaps the magic of the gems, when gathered in a concentrated enough deposit is enough to bring the surrounding rock to life, and infuse it with elemental power with the right combination of elemental gems, Rubies (Fire/Igneo) and Sapphires (Ice/Frost). Ever notice how there's often ore deposits near Stone Talus bosses? Perhaps these nearby ore deposits are young Pebbits growing into larger Taluses, and the nearby Talus is a mother protecting her growing children (a bit of a stretch, I'll admit, but there's definitely a connection between Taluses and ore).
In Zelda lore, the "sky" we see is merely a skybox, an illusion to hide the realm of the gods and floating lands such as Skyloft. So the Talus's most likely came from there and not outer space, as space has yet to be confirmed in the Zelda canon.
Could MM's aliens be the ancestors of the Ooca or Loftwings undergoing the transformation into Rito? (I'm still convinced that BOTW's Rito are the ultimate evolution of the Loftwings and Ooca, you can't change my mind, let me have this headcannon). Heck, they could even be Minnish Cap's Wind Tribe in disguise of sorts. No doubt they would fit into the lore that way if they were in fact the Wind Tribe..
Most of this seems fine, but the part about them not being in Ganon's army fell apart. The blood moon revives them, and I'm pretty sure you can get Guardians to target other enemies if you get them to hit each other while attacking you, regardless of their affiliations.
Here's a little suggestion to maybe help back up this theory. In Metroid Prime there exists a boss fight between Samus and a HUGE monster made up entirely of stones called Thardus. Not identical to the stone Talus but still very similar, even in name. Perhaps the stone Talus could be some version of Thardus like a relative species or maybe Thardus could be considered it's absolute final form to a Talus. Or possibly Thardus is a Talus corrupted by phazon which then turns it into what Samus fights against. Eitherway you could be on to something suggesting the stone talus could be an alien creature, such stone monsters have been featured in movies that take place on other planets. One that instantly comes to mind is the movie Galaxy Quest where such a stone monster exists!
i think that makes sence, but i also belive they use the crators as nests, and when the stone pebblets become stronger they leve the nest, to go somewhare else.
Quite late but maybe its possible that the craters are from a relatively recent fall of meteros, meanwhile other taluses fell on the plant a very very long time ago, so long in fact that the carters they left aren't even visable
One thing I would like to point out: You stated that Talus' are not made of rock as they can grow, so they must be skin that look like rock. Some rocks in the real world do/can in fact grow, so that is still a possibility.

Anyone: * mentions stone talus *
Me: *Stone Talus genocide flashbacks*
I farm these things for fun
and then I have to wait nights for them to respawn.
Only played Ocarina and forth.
in german their named older and younger brother too, however that doesn't really debunk the theory in my opinion :)
Yeah, I think the point was mostly to point out some sort of "family" implication, not necessarily father/son or whatever.
@Hyeonho Lim I think it could mean both.
Father and son, younger and older brother
Hylia was one of the gods, and this is shown in Skyward Sword. Non of the gods seem to be similar to Taluses or Them.
@@arcticdino1650 There might be different races of aliens, but I don't think the royals are alien-descended to begin with lol. It's just a fun idea for piss-takes I like poking around with for my own amusement. I can't imagine a Talus wearing Hylia's robes, though the mental image is funny.
Your theory is very much similar to 'ancient aliens' tv show. They argue in that show that so called 'gods' could be aliens.
The difference is that with "ancient aliens" we can be very certain they weren't, but we can never be 100% sure until some show up and say "nope, wasn't us or anybody we know"
For the game, it all lies in the hands of the creators and what they want them to be.
@@HappyBeezerStudios ha ha you are right 😀😀.
9:13 in the internal files, a lot of enemies use senior or junior to denote size. For example, ChuChus do this.

That is why this video is instantly blessed xD 💛
I’m already hooked by the intro

A few nitpicks:
-Senior and Junior don’t always refer to familial relations, they sometimes just have to do with age. One older, one younger. Senior Citizens, junior associates (or groups of youths called junior, especially in church settings. And tween&teen girl clothing is simply called the Junior section and sized slightly smaller than adult women’s clothing.)
-If Link can kill stonies simply by chucking them, then there’s literally no way they’d survive crashing to the planet below via falling out of orbit.
Hyrule just happened to get struck a few time, but mostly in a single event (and probably with the eggs themselves within meteors vs being the meteors themselves.)
ONE possibility though: could the Gorons actually be evolved from Talus (Tali?) much, much earlier in Hyrule’s history? It’d also explain why they exist in regions like Labrynna and Holodrum despite these lands being oceans apart from Hyrule (as seen in the Linked Game credits) and Gorons kinda adverse to water since they sink (although they survive it, it’s just inconvenient)

More offtopic:
But Marin predates Malon by several years, and actually has strawberry blonde hair, not ginger/red. All the two really have in common is the Singing Girl Disney Princess trope (and Malon’s name sounding like it’s derived from *Marin’s*)
Marin also allegedly looks identical to Zelda, with the Zelda1 Zelda even having strawberry blonde hair and a pink dress in her concept art, and Oracles Zelda and Marin sharing a sprite (with Oracles Zelda *also* having strawberry blonde hair vs True Blonde hair)
To digress even further than that:
Thematically Marins shares much more with Aryll (seagull obsession, islander, mistaken for Zelda, kidnapped by monsters) than she ever does Malon.
5:58, that yell though😂😂. I also love this video and your content❤❤❤
An alternative theory is that the Taluses seek out rare minerals to consume, and you find them in the craters because they ate the meteorites then took a nap. I know that they drop rare minerals when you kill them, and if they are more commonly found near ore deposits that would support this theory.
That's the kind of theory I like the most: very little proof but actually makes a lot of sense.
there is also a few craters that are near hateno village that are both obvious and obscured at the same time as they are north-west of the settlement and said crater is full of pepplits, ore-nodes and stones.
Demise/Ganondorf are filled to the brim with Jenova Cells.
I realize too late I missed a good Metroid Prime joke opportunity that Link should’ve got thunked in the head by a rock every time he killed a Talus... Thardus is displeased.
Yeah, Final Fantasy Ganondroth
I just pictured how they got scattered across the map. "go my little pebble go see the world your shell has hardened enough to leave the crater and start your own." *YEETS PEBBLE ACROSS THE MAP* "fly well my son."
Lmfao I solidly imagined this and now I cant stop laughing. Ty!
With the blood moon, it's more scary that demise can basically influence all life in the universe in a gigyus esque fashion lol
.aliens huh, thats a new one
Yes it is
My crazy theory, and it's been said before: the Gisa crater is the impact crater from where the moon destroyed Termina in Majoras Mask, and the stone talus' are fragments of the evil moon.
I find it cute how link can pick up the baby Taluses and you can watch them wiggle around helpless to do anything. It's quite humorous.
8:12
On Planet Hyrule. Good job, MNB, you just called Hyrule the Planet of Zelda.
@Zachary Erickson Hyrule is a kingdom
If an object as large as the Stone Talus came down from Space, the crater would be MUCH larger. Being ejected out of death mountain, is more plausible, although even in that case, the crater would be larger.
Also, the Pebblets would never have survived impact (they break, when Link throws them). So, there would be no crater, just some dust, because they would likey have broken apart during atmospheric entry.
*after teleported moblin has turned inside-out and exploded* Jerrin: "Hold, please."
Link: "Hey, wait a minute, guys... the moblin is gone. Why are they still yelling, 'Talus'?"
Purah: "Symin, activate the translation rune."
Bokoblins: "Talus... rock, rock, rock, rock! Oh!" (they run)
Jerrin: "Link, I don't think the moblin was Talus."
Link: "What are you talking about?"
*Stone Talus forms, battle music starts*
Link: "..."
"I think that is a Talus....amd they were running from it."
What's the Talus' motivation?
@@RpTheHotrod
Honestly I'd argue they just exist. They might not be intelligent aliens, just space roamers looking for planets or asteroids to land on amd reproduce.
Go for it's vulnerable spot - It's a rock, it has no vulnerable spot!
I loved this vid! Well-researched and delightfully narrated (as always lol).
Three things from my weird brain:
1) I'm pretty sure some of the Taluses were *placed* where you find them (specifically that one in Faron...) as kind of a coming-of-age ritual.
Blood moon creatures? Makes sense, that moon be looking like a filter screen 😂
I think the only roadblock to this theory is that you need to prove that they didn't just walk into the crater after it was made, maybe seeking the meteorite in the middle.
this just made my sunday

Very interesting theory and lol I love how the rock alien just smacks a guardian robot out of the way like nothing
3:37 A repeated character?? In a ZELDA GAME??! Unheard of!
You got me, I was not expecting that 5:57
"The meat of this juicy theory"
Bokoblins, moblins n lizalfos all have a weak spot there head that’s there weakest spot they have what I know
I know this theory has bad grammar and contains a lot of holes 🕳 but I just thought of something and shared it
Love your vids bandit
@@AlmyTheAlien what I'm getting from this is that you beat the stone talus' by slicing their junk. Which makes sense, it's the most vulnerable part of most creatures.
It’s cool that they are like living creatures because in irl nature, creatures adapt and change to better suit their environment which we can see with the different texture models of the various Talus
In all of the Talus theorys everyone always ignores the boss Thardus from Metroid Prime who was clearly an inspiraton for the Talus even down to the name, that might even explain why it's implied that it comes from space.
Im pretty sure they called it Talus bc of the rock formation called a Talus
I stopped keeping up to date with Nintendo games about 10 years ago, but like to check in every now and then to build a list of what to play when I get back into consoles.
My first thought upon seeing this video of exploding alien rock creatures in my suggested videos was: "... switch to thermal visor and then also check for blue mutated growths in the surrounding landscape"
Even though they have similarities, the Talus shouldn't really be related to Thardus since all the Phazon in existence was supposedly simultaneously destroyed...
Seeing pebblets across Hyrule, scattered between Talus sites...I think it's them migrating...or even settling new areas.
God just imagine the breeding process between stone talus 🤯 that’s gotta be some weird messed up shit right there 😂
NO PLEASE I DONT WANNA THINK ABOUT IT
Amazing theory, as usual. I was recently introduced to your channel and fell in love with your theories. Seriously, you're an amazing theorist and all the research that you put into your videos makes them so much better. Keep up the beautiful work, my friend.
Ok that title scares me
Turns out that the craters aren't "craters" in the normal sense, but more like nests for the taluses. Like what if the craters were formed by taluses digging out rocks from the ground to grow and make new ones?
OMG imagine if in botw2 there was a quest to find the background of the taluses and at the end you fought a giant talus! Like 5 times bigger than the normal ones
Oohhhh I'll be looking forward to this. Game on 😎👍
There already is an Talus Titan in the Champions Ballad DLC
Personally I think it's possible that some, but not all, taluses originate from space. I theorize that pebblits can be formed anywhere that stone can be found, including both deep underground and in asteroid belts, which would explain how some are found without an accompanying crater to mark their fall from space.
1:37 oh! You can just about see my comment.
Connection to those rocks you hit and take off into space in OOT?
They nearly killed me when I was getting a memory. The aliens hate amnesiacs.
*Time for Botw 2 to have tinfoil hats*
If they came from Death Mountain they definitely wouldn't be coming very straight-on, so the craters would be very oblong
He forgot to mention hyrule castle rising up in botw 2 trailer! Maybe they are still using that idea! 🧐😋
5:57 that yell scared me lmao
I'm confused but yes.
I always assumed the Taluses would just be attracted to warm, exposed rock, so a crater site would of course draw a large Talus population
YOU'VE GONE THE WAY OF THE HISTORY CHANNEL
Yes

The craters are *way* too shallow for them to be meteorites, I think you underestimate the force that a boulder weighing many tons can deliver when hurled miles into the air and across a great distance.
There’s a Yiga member in disguise that claims to be abducted by aliens
Maybe star fragments that sit unattended for years and years become dust that converts into the baby Talus.
I can't get it out of my head that the Talus are related to Gorons somehow. They're too similar in being bipeds made of living stone.
Nice video man. Though, when you kill a Talus, you can actually see the malice escaping from its body.
I got so excited when I got the notification of a new video 😂 Awesome theory as usual, MNB!
I wish that hood things link wore in the pic existed
The hylian hood is cool but I mostly use it as a cloak rather so
Because... it's... literally a cloak...
hoods are just parts of clothes that cover the head, cloaks have hoods, they're just hooded capes basically.
Ok but what if the Talus just thought the crater would be a comfy place to sleep
These Stone Taluses must be ancient because they're even in the Hyrule Compendium. So, I think that's why we don't see as many crators.
In Majora's Mask 3D, there is a photograph of a flying saucer in Romani and Cremia's house! Aliens over ghosts confirmed!
i think that makes sence, but i also belive they use the crators as nests, and when the stone pebblets become stronger they leve the nest, to go somewhare else.
I thank you for bringing these snippets of a game I thoroughly loved but lost, and bringing them into new light
i just LOVE the fact that this community is still thriving
8:45 you did it to assure the quality of your content of course
I always assumed the crater was from the Talus gathering material to form it's body and grow
