My first set I had a little over 90. On 1/1/22 I twisted my hair and I have 45 starter locs and i am terrified because it’s an unknown path, but I love the look of thic locs. Wish me luck 🤞🏿
Good luck, I have around 67 and I am also on a bit of an unknown path not knowing how they’re gonna turn out, but I know they’re gonna turn out beautiful so idk why I’m worrying lol😂
How are you 45 locs looking now - 11 months later? I just go around 40 and I'm scared they arent enough
@@melaninmoet217 How are you 44 locs looking now - 5 months later? I just go around 40 and I'm scared they arent enough
Your locs are so beautiful! I have 40 locs and I’m 9 months in. I’m really satisfied with them.
I am 16 months loc’d with roughly 82-84 locs. Sometimes i wish i went a little smaller but i feel like it’s still too early to tell. Most of the time I’m happy with the amount i chose. I think with more length I’ll feel even less in need of smaller locks. It was hard to decipher what would get me both thick and full locs with my hair texture and density.
i have 65 and i am happy with my 5 months locd - thanks your hair is beautiful
I also have 46 and started them with two strand twist as well! I’m 3 months in, This is my third set of Locs and I knew I wanted thicker ones than I’ve had in the past. My hair was pretty short when I started though and kept unraveling so I used a crochet tool to help out. They’re skinny now because of the tool so I’m super nervous because I’ve never started with the tool before and also never had this small of a number of Locs. I’m hoping they thicken up overtime tho and I’m tryna trust the process, but like you said, they can always be combed out and started over 😂 so I’m letting them rock for now!
Started out with braids and have 50 and loving the journey so far ❤️❤️
Thinking of fifty locs for my 50th birthday, or 88 locks for how old grandma was when she passed, 493 for when I graduated, but I should stop being so arbitrary LOL
Wow, I just combined my 440 Sisterlocks down to 46! I have been wondering what they will look like. I totally understand how the same number can look different on different head types and head sizes so I figured there's no way of really being able to tell until they start locking?
Omg I have 45! I contemated redoing them but I love yours! Thanks for the video
I started with 90+ twists. I combined some and a few merged together. I m.doen to 46 now. I m.looking to combine further to 7 wicks.
I tried to do them the other day but It felt sore and then again some of my locs are flat which made the wick process difficult
I started my second set with two-strand twists 2 months ago on Halloween & I have 58 locs. I had my first set for about 6.5 months & the loc count was somewhere between 90-100 with that one. I let that first set go and started over with this second one for a few reasons and one of those was for bigger parts to get a smaller number of locs that are more on the thicker side. I’m more than good with the loc count on this current set. Your locs are so beautiful!! 🤎😎✨
I started with 134 locs but now having 124 locs and I love them,I'm 12month-2weeks locd, and also semi free forming,I actually don't feel like retwisting anymore, and I love the journey so far❤️ PEACE ❤️✌️
♥️💛💚🔥
Wow Shae! I knew that you had less than you're previous set but i I didn't realize that you have 46. They are really thick and full. Beautiful. I'm not sure how many locs l have but they're smaller than my previous sets. I'll probably count them one day soon.
I love ur locs, they’re gorgeous. I’m one month into my new ( 5th set in 24 years ) set of 45 locs. This is my 1st comb coil set so I can’t wait to see how they turn out. #patienceiskey
Hi Shae, im on my second set of locs its now 2 and a half years I have been loced I had my first set of 80 locs for 6 years, but they started thinning due to styles and tension when in pony tails. Also I joined a weight loss contest which caused damage to my hair due to diet though I won the contest and money I lost because it caused damage to my hair not eating healthy which is key to health hair, and I did cut off all my locs and started overwith 70 locs now Im eating healthy and now have combined then and now have 50 locs which are much better then the first set nice and thick. They are not as thick as yours, but almost yours are beautiful by the way. I love locs and can not go back to a comb or brush that will break the natural curls.
Wow. Congratulations on winning that weight loss contest. You are correct that when you say that healthy eating contributes to healthy hair. 50 locs sounds like a great number. ❤️
I have 45!! I’m only 4 months in😒 I’m so ready for 1year to be here lol
Your locs are gorgeous. I got my locs started on 3/29/22 and I haven’t gotten the chance to count them yet since my stylist put them in a style. I know I want to split a few that are too big.
I have 68. I’m happy with the count
wow I love the size of your locs! beautiful also i miss Smiley's videos. I have 60-something locs. i should recount them since a lot of them combined during quarantine
Just started my journey 1 day in...yay
I have 54 locs I'm happy but nervous. Can't wait to see the progress! Great video
Yay!! Congrats on your journey. It’s going to be great. Thanks for watching. ❤️
I re installed mine a day ago (had to cut coz I missed my Afro) initially Started with 64 now have 55 and shoulder length.
I have exactly the same number I just started too!! I'm 2 weeks in!! happy locking
Just started my loc journey again and I have 48 locs this go round excited to see how my hair will flourish last set I had over 120.
I had my 1st set for 6 years comb coil method. I had about 85 to 90 locs. As u see in my profile pic. But I wanted thicker locs. So I cut them and started with the 2 strand method. Now I have 45 locs. 4 months later and I love my thick locs and my large parts are so dope.
I feel the same way. I started on April 18th 2023 As of right now I’m just can’t wait to see when I reach my year mark how long they gonna be. Cuz 4 months in and I already had got them styled.
I have 48, and I love that! My head is small🥹, and very fine hair!❤❤Your hair is gorgeous Sis❤❤
I have 46 as well 💫💫
I have 30 locs. Front side smaller than the back side of my head.
You've got a beautiful set!!. I have 110 but started out with 223. Loving the journey 15 months in. Recently decided to semi-free from as well and totally love that look!
I have 70 locs, so far I’m satisfied but I think I may combine some.
I have 40 love😁, gotta restart my journey because my love of 7 years were stressed..i literally had about 100 locs and I just want to start over with a clean slate🙂😁
Yes, been there too. This is my third set so I know what the restarting journey is all about.
I love your locs ❤ I started mine a week ago and I think I have 52 I felt like I wanted more bc the parting on the top is a little big. I also have low density hair so I’m not sure as to how full they’ll be but I was thinking of splitting a few at the top. When you split them in 2 do you just leave them in it’s curly pattern or do you 2 stand twist the new section?
I like how you counted them, Im going to do that for my 2 year locanniversary
I have 47 just started 9-2-21 loving it so far
Hey shae I have about the same amount of locs as you do. Btw ur locs are beautiful so are you. I just wasn’t wanted to ask are you able to do a lot of styles or are u limited to only a few kind of styles ?
I honestly haven’t tried doing a lot of styles. This loc journey, I am limiting what I do. I have about three styles that I do…braidout, half up/half down, and lock bun. And that’s fine for me. Lol. I’m not into a lot of different styles. But I do think the thicker the locs, the less styles you will be able to do.
I have 204. I like the smaller size but sometimes I miss having more (I started with 400+) and other times I think I could combine further. I'm staying where I am until something pushes me in a direction.
I have 51. This is my 2nd loc journey, I had 101 the first time.
I started with 102 I’m down to 84. I would love 68-70
im on my third week and i have 44 amazing loc babies tho im contemplating seperating one of them lol dont think i will simply because i like the number 44 better
4:00 46locs total (i have 52ish locs)
I have 54 locs 4 months in on my loc journey. I think I have a good amount for me to manage.
45... I might separate two at the crown, I’ll see how heavy they feel when they reach the nape of my neck... I’m only 4 months in✌🏾
I’m 13.5 months in, with braid locs as my base, from my loose fro. I have 124 currently and would like to combine some so I can have thicker, semi free form locs. I currently retwist every 6-8 weeks. This is my third set of locs. I’m curious about combining some so I get to about 80/85 locs. I’m not sure what it’s gonna look like though. A beautiful adventure for sure.
I have 43 I just extended them today but my starter locks were thick so I asked the man if he could combine he said it's gonna take time and I asked myself what am I paying him for?I'm not really happy but I'll see ....I think for thin locks you should have more but yeah I see as time goes for now I feel like they are not full enough
I have 45 locs loving it ❤️
Love your hair! I have 73 locs
I have 88 and I love it, I’m 9 months in 😍 I love your locs …. Happy journey
I have 30 ! 💜
Nice! I have 50. Have you seen itsColleenSade channel? She has 30 locs and does some cute things with hers.
I love thicker locs!
I have 46 starter locs I am satisfied with the size
Hey um I have 31 and I don't know if that's Enough ...I don't wanna continue if it isn't enough I'm 2 weeks in ..can someone help me please is 31 locs enough?
It honestly depends on your hair texture. If you are not sure, you may want to start with more. At least you could combine them later on.
Depends on your hair’s density, and personal preference... you can’t create more later so it’s best to start with more then combine as they start to bud, if you want less ✌🏾 I have 32... I saw a 3c/b woman with large pretty free semi-formed and I knew that look was for me...
I have 47 locs and I love them
I have 44!!
57 and 13 months in the branch gang
I just did a loc count video, I’ll be posting soon. I started my loc journey with a parting system in mind but not how many locs I wanted or someone I wanted to mimic because of course everyone is different. But anyways I love ur Locs semi-free form fits u 🤗
I think i have 43 locs, with kinda curly ends
16mths in and I have 119 locs
I have 54 starter locs❤️😍
I got 42
I have like 66
I have 50 😃
I have 55
I’m gonna guess ~25-30ish
56
I have 31
I think I've mentioned before but my 1st journey started with 175 locs. Over 12 years I combined them down to 50.
Started my 2nd journey by cutting my locs and immediately installed 68 baby locs. Now at almost 3 years in I combined down to...50! That wasn't done on purpose. It's just where I ended. I'm guessing my head just wants 50 locs!🤣
I love, love, love them!
50 is a good number! I am so happy you love them. :)
😂
