The movies were watchable even though they are repeat themes primarily because of the the great ensemble cast and their superlative acting. I watch a bunch of these films for the character actors like SVR, Suryakantam, Gummadi, Nagabhushanam, Allu Ramagalingayya, Padmanabham, Ramaprabha (my favorite actress) and so many more. They never played themselves, but played the characters. This was true for Hindi films till 80s. May be I'm old timer now!!
