Actually Jade was right. We start fasting at 5.55 am when Subuh prayer starts, not at sunrise. And we can't pray when the sun is rising.

Yes if you eat after subuh your puasa consider failed..
yup, but non muslims would generally be introduced to fasting as not eating from sunrise to sunset while it should be early-sunrise to sunset

I think they got confused between waktu Imsak, Subuh and Syuruk.
Imsak is 10 minutes before Subuh. Usually this is considered danger zone, we'll start to be careful not to exceed Subuh.
Subuh is the start of puasa. It is yhe rise of fajar (early sunrise) thats why it is still dark. But in the desert we can see line of light on the horizon.
Syuruk is sunrise. Usually the sky already bright during this time.
These three might be unknown to Korean because theyre only mentioned in Solat time for Muslims.

Jade doing nothing wrong..we usually sahur and woke up at 5.00am-5.30am..then we wait for subuh(dawn)prayer at 5.50am(different place,different time)..after that we start to go work or go to school

Fasting/puasa time starts about 1 hour before sunrise. We call it Subuh (the dawn).
We end the fast by sunset. We call it Maghrib (the dusk).
Ramadan is the name of the month of fasting.
When you did it in Korea, you did it wrongly. It is correct this time.. 😉

Yes Ramadan, our sahur is before the prayer time. It is easier to explain to non-Muslims that it is from sunrise to sunset, but the exact way of fasting is before the 1st morning prayer, until the 1st evening prayer.
I think most people are not around already because they balik kampung Blimey. The only time KL is not THAT congested 😂😅😅

Fun fact :
Actually we only have 10 - 15 minutes to eat berbuka meals because we need to rush for maghrib prayer for around 10-15 minutes more, then rush to the masjid for isyak and long tarawekh prayer that too around 1 or more hours to finish. That's why some eat again after that.
Sahur usually done at 5-5.40, then we pray for Subuh 5.45-6.00am.
And dasol is right, usually when you always talk about food or watching it on tv, you will usually feel hungry. So we don't talk about food, not until we go to Bazaar Ramadhan.
Yes at 5am is actually a great time for sahur... just nice...

Jade is right. 5am is about time for most Malaysians eating 'sahur' until approximately at 5.45am or before a call for 'Subuh' prayer. Sunrise will be arount 7am which also indicates the end of morning (subuh) prayer.
Sahur at 5, start puasa at 6, sunrise at 7.

In Kuching, Sarawak, Sahur start around 4:30, Subuh right before 5:30, and sunrise around 6 AM

Even my mother eat sahur at 5.30am 😂 about 30mins before subuh prayer, end of sahur time. That's okay, you guys woke up n meditating during golden time of the day. Its good to wake up early and praying/meditating 😇

Actually, Peninsular Malaysia time follow Malaysian Borneo time(Sabah time). +8 GMT. In Sabah, we are 30 minutes to 1 hour early than peninsular. Which means we have different time in breaking the fast,prayer time, and government administration time.

Yup. By right, West Malaysia should use GMT+7 as their time zone, like Thailand.
As a Sarawakian from Kuching, time different in Tawau is almost 1 hour. I was there back in 2004 for some practical course.
In Tawau, the time for Iftar is almost 6pm while in Kuching it's roughly 15 minutes before 7pm.
The new blimey girl looks like she enjoying the Ramadan buffet although this is her first time, maybe because of fasting 😊

Blimy should try to go puasa at Sabah Sarawak, for Sabah we sahur at 4.00am 😂, and open fasting at 6.23pm, have different time zone for each region. And usually sunrise start around 6.00 am 😆, not too late to wish you guys selamat hari raya aidilfitri year 2022 👏👏

After 1 week of fasting,We usually dont feel hungry till afternoon.Btw,Those foods are making me drool.I am going to visit Malaysia soon.Gotta try all those tasty dishes😌
Nice experience of trying to fasting in Malaysia. At least you guys can compare when previously took this challenge back in Korea. Just imagine how the construction workers fasting and do their jobs under the hot sun but still able to do it. Anyway, kudos to Blimey. Selamat Hari Raya.

Jade is not wrong. As far as I know, Muslims in Malaysia have sahur at 5am because the dawn call to prayer is around 6am. I often hear the call to prayer around 6am.

wanna know my 1 day before raya experience
5am for sahur
8am went out for grocery (so many people in wet market and supermarket )
10am start making kueh raya , cakes etc
2pm cleaning the house , painting new colour on the wall
4pm went out to check on new furniture ( usually always new couch for guests that come during raya)
6pm preparing for iftar
8pm getting my pelita raya (idk english for it sorry) ready
9pm arranging furniture , clean again while the rest of siblings preparing ingredients for rendang and main dish, our family always prepare for mee kari on raya every year
2am went sleep
5am woke up , continue cook main dish and rendang .
7am prepare our clothes
9am solat sunat aidil fitri and rayaaa
the rest of the day is just attending to guests that come visit .
i just got my rest now hehe
btw Selamat Hari Raya Blimey and Blimers . eat a lot and enjoy the fest
i think people mostly miss understood between dawn and sun rise.. dusk and sunset.. it is almost same but different.. 😅😅😅😅

Ramadhan for me only hard for first 3 days... After that my body already adapt to it already... Last 5 days.. I dont need heavy sahur already... 3 kurma and 3 glasses of water can tahan until buka 😬😬😬
Its not true we happy because ramadhan left us..its truly sad because ramdhan its the only holy month that we xperienced other peoples difficulties,we more tolerate with everething but still need to be happy because syawal its like month of gift from god to human who is showed their loyalty…
you all eat at the ramadan buffet but if I suggest to go to the ramadan bazzar buy there and eat at home it is safer and quieter
Fasting for 14 hours and being satisfied after 5 minutes is the perfect reminder of how temporary and delusional the pleasures of this world are.

the 5.05am sunrise time may be related to all countries in Borneo ...
