    Gotta say that Ghia was done up nice, and when you started talking about this homemade bracket I had a feeling that was going to solve a majority of your issues. But it was kinda weird how something’s worked then didn’t then came back again. Think of the owner snags a new fuse block and connects things and cleans up the wiring a tad under the dash that area will look as nice as the exterior. And you might want to consider getting yourself another Karmin Ghia you looked good behind the wheel of that one, of course you’ll need to make some Glen modifications so you fit. I feel your pain I’m 6’4” tall myself so I hear you about lowering seat rails and smaller steering wheels or tilt steering just to get in the thing first of all

    • @DuckmanCycles
      @DuckmanCycles  5 місяців тому +1

      Well as I understand it didn't all work, then it went to paint, and then it came back from paint with worse electrical problems... lol... I told him that's what would happen.

  • @TimsWorkshopTJY

    I kind of the fixer around my neighborhood too. A friend is coming over tomorrow because his older Dodge pu truck's radio quit working. He said he changed the fuse, but I think there may be another one on the back of the radio. Will check but when stuff sits with the battery still hooked up corrosion with attach connectors. If all that checks out will tell him to remove the radio so I can test it on my work bench. my first car had an electric issue can't remember what but after I messed with it when I honked the horn the wipers would work and when I turned on the wipers the horn would honk. Friends got a good laugh, so I left it like that.

    This reminds me of my first car, a VW based Fiberfab Dune Buggy. It was built in the late 60s, from a 1956 Beetle. Nothing electrical worked reliably, I fooled around with the old harness for a while and finally re wired the whole car with a VW harness I bought from JC Whitney. I had to run all the grounds back to the frame because of the fiberglass body. The horn was a problem the wiring in the column was bad so I just put a doorbell switch on the dash lol. And it all finally worked!

      Is it a stock replacement wiring harness? I'm not certain how it will be overcomplicated, typically they just drop into the stock location and everything plugs in just like factory... unless they just gave you a bunch of wires and you had to make your own harness out of it, it chluksnt be any more complicated. 😁👍🏻🦆💩
