Thanks Chandler. Ya, I have two ATC110 engines that need the top ends rebuild and one that has some shifting issues. I will plan on recording the whole thing and making some nice detailed videos.
Thanks! The problem I have with the thing now is it's too nice that I don't want to ride it, or get dirt on it, or have someone scratch it, or look at it wrong :) :)
Yep, I have that 110 that we got unstuck in that video a few weeks back. It shifts good but the top end is a mess. I think that will be a winter project rebuilding the top end. I'll be sure to record every step of the tear down and rebuild for a video.
Thanks Joe, I have another 110 engine that needs the top end rebuilt. I think that will be my winter project. I will record the whole thing and make a video for everyone.
I would love to see a complete rebuild of a 110 engine. I am an ATC 110 collector, but I haven't done a complete engine rebuild yet. Thank you for making these videos, well done!
Thanks! I have a 1981 110 engine I am going to do a top end rebuild on soon. I'll be sure to roll the camera. And will do the same the next time I need to go further in to the case. How many 110's do you have?
Thank you so much for the shout out!! Loved watching this machine come together over the last few videos. You did a great job. Definitely controversial decision to paint the fenders, but they came out fantastic!! Everything you did was pretty amazing honestly. Loved being able to see it start to finish. Many of my projects get started and then the distractions come... or other projects come... and before you know it you're a year out and it's still not done. Anyway, top notch work! Congratulations!
No problem man. Ya, I have the same problem, I get like 1000 ideas in my head and I have a hard time sticking with one thing until its done. I will keep everyone up to date on how the paint is holding up and make a follow up video some time down the road. I'm not going to rip around on the 110, basically going to just take it to some shows and just sit it in the garage and just look at it :) The next "rider" I build I will try to just polish up the bare plastic and see how that goes.
We bought and sold loads of these back in the day ( and thrashed them ) the gear shift roller thingys came in for repair often as folk thought it was best to use there big heel to change gear .
Hi. Great video series on the restoration. I am gathering parts to start my project and was wondering where you purchased your seat cover? All of the ones i have found have seams but youra looks like a nice original style. Thanks.
I have never tried regular spray can primer but my feeling is it won't work very well. These plastics are pretty hard to get anything to stick to. I ended up going to an automotive paint professional store and talked with the pros on what would work well. I will definitely get a nickel plating video on the channel soon too! Thanks for stopping by!
Hey Joel, the way I did it works but I prepped and painted them like an auto body shop would paint plastic bumpers on a car. It is a bit of a process you might not want to take on with your first attempt. I used PPG Shopline products on this one.
Sorry, none of those place will carry the type of stuff I use. It will have to be an auto body supply store that sells stuff to body shops. The cost might be on the high side if you don't already have the equipment, thinners, hardeners etc. After that, it will take some experience to do it right. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone if they don't have body shop experience painting plastic.
Well, I have my oem fenders from one of my 200s trikes, and the plastics are actually in pretty good shape. I just rattlecanned them black which plastic paint I bought from Walmart. I put the stickers on one side of the rear fenders, and it wasn't completely straight. I'm positive no one would have noticed, but I did! When I pulled it off, all the paint underneath it came with it!!
On the other set I have, the rear fenders have the tabs that hold the mud flaps on cut off. I did not do this. I think it looks tacky on a solid rear-end trike. If it was a 200x ,250r, or 350x, it would be no big deal
An engine rebuild vid would help us out big time. That’s actually the first thing we need to do on our project.
Thanks Chandler. Ya, I have two ATC110 engines that need the top ends rebuild and one that has some shifting issues. I will plan on recording the whole thing and making some nice detailed videos.
WHERE IS THE VIDS!!!!! HAHA@@BIGFOOTBIKESANDBREWS
Still would like to see the detached engine rebuild that was started in part 1
Honda is on the line they want their museum display back! Lol. Great work!
Thanks! The problem I have with the thing now is it's too nice that I don't want to ride it, or get dirt on it, or have someone scratch it, or look at it wrong :) :)
Good job buddy, looks great! Yes, Would love to see a engine rebuild video.

Amazing quality restore!

Thanks Jas, cool to hear the experience! I have definitely ran in to a few worn out shifter rollers that have been BEET to death recently.

If you search ebay for "ATC110 ATC125M seat cover" you should be able to find the one without the stitching in the search results. Thanks!
Is epoxy primer better than regular old primer?(forgive me if that was a dumb question)also a special painting guide would be cool

I'm rebuilding a 1984 200s, and a 1982 200e. Does painting the plastics really work? If so, I would like to know what paints you put on them.

Can you pick them up at Walmart, or do you have to go to a place like O'Reilly or Advanced Auto?

Where the hell is the engine rebuild 🤦♂️
Sorry dude, I have the raw video shot, just need to get it edited :) I'll try to get it up soon!!
I am getting my engine rebuild videos edited. Here is the first video of the disassembly! ua-cam.com/video/zw44TSPYcBY/v-deo.html
