I decided to put a layer of elm on the headstock of the strat-type guitar with an Elm top. To do that, I needed to bend a piece of Elm, using heat and water.
Looks good! I accident messed up that slope to the headstock to fingerboard and took too much wood off before sanding that slope. I glued in a peice of mahogany the same as the neck wood but you can still tell there is that strip there sk I might end up doing this to cover it up lol
I've buggered up my t type headstock and made it too thin. Trying to bend 2 to 3mm walnut to veneer on top and correct it. Seems like it will work after seeing this. Thanks.
"the decision to make guitars is the decision to make a lot of sanding"... I'm hearing that while sanding a guitar body.... Perfect timing 😆😂

A great result Glenn. That's gonna be a beautiful guitar.
Cool, that's given me a couple of ideas about bending wood, not seen it done like that before.
Thinking outside the box, always good!
