It depends on which resistance you're talking about and what defeat means.
If you're talking about hamas, Israel might not be able to take them out completely. But what does the resistance want? To conquer Israel. In that case, Israel can indeed defend against them. It's actually hamas who are failing in gaza. People's expectations of hamas are so low that they believe that the fact that they're not wiped out completely is a victory in itself.
Gaza is in ruins. Hamas basically isn't operating as a government anymore. Is this success in your eyes?

I am a Sunni Muslim who used to hate "Shia" Iran. However, the recent US-backed genocide perpetrated by Israel in Gaza has changed everything. They way I saw things on social media, what mainstream western media is churning out and the role of Arab Shaikhdoms and other Arab countries, it was an unbelievable shifts in my opinion. This genocide brought a paradigm shift in the Islamic world. Iran is no longer a religious fanatic nations. Now we know who is on the right side of the history. Therefore, today we Muslims, Sunnis included, consider Iran a true towering leader of the Muslim world. My deep respect and admiration to the Iranian brethren.
