      @Mr.AlexKogan good morning Alex, my name is Alex as well, lol. But anywho, I've watched your videos, which I enjoy, so thanks for sharing. I tried and tried doing this since March, and I've had nothing but curve balls. I had a shorter trailer and went out and bought this big o' dually quad cab ram to not be limited....but that forced me to go for the CDL. Then, I couldn't get any good loads because the trailer was short

    • @franciscoguadron689
      @franciscoguadron689 Місяць тому

      @Mr.AlexKogan ....and the load board being used by the dispatcher was not paying enough. So I stopped for about a month and returned the rent to own trailer and lost a bunch of $. Then, not wanting to quit, I decided to pick up a 40' dual 7k single gn (i feel that was a mistake) when I dropped off the 35' dual and tandem 8ks mega ramps.

    • @franciscoguadron689
      @franciscoguadron689 Місяць тому

      @Mr.AlexKogan ...(part 3,,,,LOL) now I've been having trouble getting loads for 2 reasons. First is because I don't have my CDL just yet, and I had to derate the trailer. 2nd is because the carrier I leased with was only 2 months old(I never asked, and they didn't tell me). So I dropped them and decided to try with someone else but, now they've told me they can't use me because my setup is toooooo long. Beyond the legal limit of 65' bumper to bumper. Another hotshot driver which was a semi driver told me it is measured from center of the front axle to center of the rear axle. So I'm now just sitting around and not making any money and just paying for this truck and trailer out of savings, trying to not lose my sanity. Can you help with this 'legality rule' and where I can find the answer....I'll be looking and asking others as well. Thank you, have a blessed day

    • @Mr.AlexKogan
      @Mr.AlexKogan  Місяць тому

      @@franciscoguadron689 The 40ft gooseneck is the most popular setup with a full size truck. Technically I think you have to have a chassis cab truck to use a 40ft gooseneck legally but no one really pays too much attention to that. All I see are trucks like mine and fords with 40ft gooseneck. Never had an issue and never heard of anyone having trouble because of that type of setup.

      @cmm3338 Місяць тому +1

      no lol. def not, unless you can run 4 trucks.
      You need dedicated routes, paying by contract or by hour...
      running by mile is getting worse, and worse. Only thing I would say is worth it, run 6 of these in and out of cali on dedicated routes instead of a tractor.

    • @cmm3338
      @cmm3338 Місяць тому

      @@nsm4581 Im saying you can make money, but get contracts in place, have accounts you service consistently.
      Whether that be 10 units a month, or 60 units a month. I say 6 because it is easier to get on dedicated routes when you can tell a customer, we will take everything you ship, instead of 25% or however much of their business.
      You need to prioritize consistent freight bar none. Oh, and dont buy an expensive set of truck(s)/trailers.
      Local hot shotting that could be worth it is totally dependent on your region/city. But frankly, how are you going to charge little enough to make it worth your time, and not worth their money to simply get a tractor/trailer. Why do you make perfect sense for them?
      Local work requires relationships, call your local contractors, builders, developers, car dealers, mechanics, anyone that you think could use shipping on the scale you transport it. Ship things people hate dealing with, and charge accordingly.
      Avoid sales pitches, stick to why you will add value, then do it and you will be in business.
