as someone who saw the Original in the Theatre.....I like them both for different reasons....the special effects were better on the newer one....but thats to be expected 40 yrs later

I actually liked the new one better. I couldn't take the old one seriously with Carrie's mom waving the knife around and making goofy faces.

REALLY THERE'S THERE'S NO COMPARISON THE ORIGINAL HANDS DOWN IS A CLASSIC AND THE NEWER ONE BOMBED AT THE THEATERS CABLE AND DVD IT JUST SUCKS
