I highly doubt that tongues have ceased. My pastor was in a foreign country. During a prayer group he began interceding/praying in tongues/Holy Ghost. Almost immediately a young missionary looked at him and ran out of the room scared. I don't remember if he caught up with her, or just spoke with her later, and he asked her what was wrong. She replied and said to him that when he started praying in tongues, he actually started proclaiming the Word of God in Aramaic. Another lady started speaking in tongues at an Assembly of God and she was speaking fluently in Hebrew while also proclaiming the Word of God. There was also a 9 year old girl that started speaking in tongues at a Church of God. After she started speaking in tongues, a man RAN to the front of the church. The pastor asked him what was wrong, and he said that he was Indian and that the 9 year old girl had called him by name in his native language and told him that it was his last chance to get right with God.
I heard a story from a preacher friend of mine I believe is who said it. I am not sure if he was on the plane or not, but some preacher brethren were on an Egyptian flight and I can't remember if it was on the way back or going to, but one of them fell sick. They started praying for him and the Holy Ghost fell, and after they landed one of the stewardess stopped one of them and asked him who Jesus was That the one that was speaking in that heavenly language was speaking fluent Egyptian. God is real, the Holy Ghost is real and its more than a tongue. He's a helper, comforter, and God will do to depend on!
Everytime I've felt down and out, I listen to this song and start to think about the Savior that we have and before I finish, the Lord has swept through and lifted me up.
