Yeah it's the reason I only play with friend groups at higher difficulties because at least that way I can rejoin. Seeing random lower level players crash out after a hard fought mission feels pretty shitty. There seems to be something going on where any very brief connection drop will end a session, which is ridiculous.
Hell, all I really want is actual in game stats for strategems. Like which has more damage: orbital rail cannon or orbital precision strike? And how about how many mags each gun has? Why are they treating these basic stats like secrets?
I like this and being able to see how much damage everything does. But, the problem with this is that we know basically no numbers of enemy health for this to be useful.
There are UA-camrs that have since these breakdowns. It's very much a sweat thing - play enough and you learn what works and how changes affect a weapon/strat. If you want those numbers they're out there but I didn't want spreadsheets in space bullshit in this game because there's almost zero reason to actually get that involved in this game. If you can't play at level 8-10 then don't - enjoy the game at the level you enjoy and eventually you'll build up skill etc and start bumping up levels but if you don't it's really not necessary. Content (bar superbases, which are pretty meh) isn't locked behind difficulty etc, unlike MMOs.
The first game used samples to upgrade or “mod” the gun. So you may want to start getting that ship all set. I still haven’t either got full ship upgrades as well
@danietkissenle it's not about the lore it's that Helldivers would have this random thing from somewhere else inserted into it when it wouldn't fit in, it's not just the lore but also the theme of the game, having a giant green British dude faction come from the wormhole when they could do something cool with the illuminate would just be weird and annoying
@@yeahnahmate7 This is not true for a game like this. There was a lot of content in the first game that if added to this one would be a complete game changer. Weapon upgrades, stratagem upgrades, the rest of the mechs and vehicle's. A whole lot of cool weapons and really cool armors.
They should add the white USS Valor armor from the original. That would be very good. But some of the weapons I think would be broken but they could add the pulse rifle and the line gun.

i mean maybe they rework it into an alternative to the minigun; more accurate, higher damage per round, more pen, and steady ammo expenditure while the minigun is a medium pen horde clearer
do you know how insane adding the c-14 would be? It would be like a liberator except it has heavy armor pen and it shoots at 500 rounds per minute that plus it 1 shots little dudes like scavenger, warriors, and troopers. It would take around a mag and a half to take down a charger, or quarter of a mag to take down a devastator. That gun would be insane so it would need some serious draw backs. (this is assuming they make it lore accurate)
Mini gun with backoack and player "reload" but it's a player essentially holding the gunner in place, and a player support strategem that's a tripod that can be used for hmgs for shelter in place gameplay
To send it home the trade off would be sacrificing a player who could be armed with something else to help the gunner or sacrifice a stragem to reinforce your buddy or one guy pick both etc
Darktide crossover works really well. We are a 4 man team of hardcore everymen who drop into hellish warzones on essentially suicide missions against overwhelming numbers of enemies. The weaponry they have is already space marine stuff that's been downsized for normal humans to use like the boltgun. Already done the work for Helldivers to make it smaller and more realistic. It's scrap gear from the imperium's actually military that's been repurposed for usage by the convicts we're playing as. That sounds so much like what we're given to use in Helldivers, already.
Id love to see a team-operated HMG (ref M2 .50) where it runs full auto but can only go off of 30-50 round belts but a second player could append additional belts end-to-end and let it fire continuously.
That doesn’t make sense to me, why would the ministry of defense give us a mech that would work better fast and make it slow. They love all of us and want us wiping out as many foes as possible before going home safe, I don’t get why they would want to make it slower for us to kill.
What I hope this will work is that you can select this stratagem of the S.E.A.F., and as soon as you press it you get different units with different specializations to choose from. And what I also hope is that once you use this stratagem in the game, they come down in a pelican like the death troopers in rogue one a star wars story

The minigun could work by only allowing loading if the backpack is equipped as well. Then the chain from the backpack attaches to the gun and auto loads. Therefore the chain would only be aesthetic but the minigun would only have ammo in it when the backpack is equipped and you reload, taking the chain and clipping it to the gun. This probably sounds very convoluted but thank you for contemplating my thoughts and opinion
They need to add more upgrades to grind for. A lot of people is stuck on max samples and money, they should add uogrades to the SEAF artillery, the SAM sights, maybe even for every single stratagem Most of my matches no one cares about searching or getting samples
Crew-served weapons would be great. It's how it's done in real-life, which isn't a GREAT argument, but it is really fun to work in coordination with someone else to get warheads on foreheads. For example, I love flying little birds in Arma and providing CAS marked by the ground force element with IR lasso. Or doing fire missions on a mortar FOB in Squad. Having a system where you and a friend get to really work synergistically would be awesome. Also, great videos Thordan, I am honestly amazed at how many videos you put out. If you haven't already, you should 100% put out youtube shorts to capitalize on the short updates! Putting small chapter breaks in videos would also be nice, as it makes the content easier to jump through. Thanks again, happy new year!
I also like the idea of crew weapons only problem is we already a lot of complaints of people not doing the team loads for the guns that have the option and there are a lot of solo players and people like me who only play with randoms so I don't have to use a mic or hear others mics (i like having the game full blast in my headset not strangers cracking or scratchy voices) so solo players miss out and coordination gets a little tricky
Maybe, considering that the minigun has issues, split the minigun magazine in half and instead of a full, long reload have like a very short animation which the other half is used from the backpack. Or if thats undesirable just carry on with however you plan to implement it, we can wait. Helldivers is planned to go on for a while

What was said in the video is that the minigun would need two connected slots, and both weapon and ammo backpack would need to be equipped at once. Unlike our current support weapons with backpacks, where you equip them separately.
For the collabs, I think Warhammer, Star Wars (clones), Halo, Dead Space, Gears of War would be AMAZING collabs. Also a tank strategem would be cool to kinda be like the movie fury where everyone in the squad has a different role in the tank, but ofc maybe that would mean the maps would have to be bigger for it to kinda work
We really need a quick loadout because it’s so frustrating to do over again like you just completed loading your stratagem but the host cancel then enter hellpod and start over again but this time I pick the wrong stratagem.
Preparing for a dive is only 5-8 mouse clicks away, but are you tired yet? And there's still ~30 minutes to go. The lack of loadout forces you to think about what you take, strengthening your team and adapting to the task. Or you take the same gear regardless of the mission and the equipment of your squadmates.

I have been using the stA-52 since the killzone colab and saw that there were shotgun and grenade launcher attachments for the same weapon platform. If AH makes an AR weapon with an underbarrel alt weapon attachment, that would be an instant purchase for me.
it'd be neat to see the minigun work like the vulcanette in hideous destructor. if you look up pictures for it it'll look like doom but that's because it's an overhaul to make doom into a tactical shooter vs demons. features the vulcanette has in hideous destructor - constant aim drop aka negative recoil due to its heavyness, this able to be counteracted by crouching or proning - a 700 rpm or 2100 rpm mode - having multiple magazine wells so it has 250 ammo capacity but requires 5 magazines to be fully loaded. you could also give it exaggerated recoil when not firing from crouch/prone or even ragdoll you and knock you over.

for a minigun strat, all they need to do is give the player the patriot exo-suit mini gun (med AP n watever RoF it is) with an ammo pack containing 1000rnds (like the mech) and ammo boxes replenshish 250rnds or one quarter of full pack. advantage to using the patriot over the minigun strat is a single loaded rocket sentry, separate health pool, immune to environmental hazards, fire n gas. eitherway, the patriot n the minigun strat both only take up one slot. balanced and the work is alrdy in the game. just grab the right arm to the patriot!
With 1000 rounds of 7.62x51 (standard ammo for minigun) that’s 60 lbs on your back. The lightweight minigun model weighs a little over 40 lbs. From what the devs have said, they are trying to make the minigun in-game somewhat realistic. So expect a drastic reduction to run speed and increased stamina drain.

You make it seem like they don't already have realism. There's a reason why we don't have Liberators with 100 magazines and sniper rifles shooting rockets, the game designers have military backgrounds and most of these weapons are realistic.
@jefferywilliams2624 Realism just dampens imagination and makes it so they cant take risks when making new things, its dumb, we are in space fighting robots, 12 foot tall bugs and walking squids. The game is more arcade-like in nature, if you want realism go play a realistic game

I would love if they added a service medal you could earn for each planet after completing operations, I think it would be a cool way to incentivize people to complete operations and a fun way to keep track of what planets you have fought on
I have an idea for the chaosdivers, rather than being a faction we could be the chaosdivers, hear me out basically you could switch between helldivers and chaosdivers when you like and chaosdivers can still fight the usual enemies but encounter helldivers in those missions, maybe even attack super earth time to time, I think the ship names would be funny too, "hater of family values"

The xm556 is a thing that exists in our world now from like 40 years ago... yes a full sized minigun firing .308 at a fucktillion rpm is not man portable with today's tech... helldivers doesn't have today's tech, they have infinite use instant jump drive nonsense, we can hipfire the 20mm autocannon full auto and sprint/climb/ w/e just fine, but a minigun and potentially the hmg are a step too far........ its double standards is me point

If they drop a weapon mod system that uses samples I'm never going to finish my ship upgrades. I hope they use req slips instead.

More black armor sets would be nice... the white armor looks great, but an all black stealth / black ops kind of armor would be awesome.

if they made a backpack for the minigun and just had it instant reload as it fires without an animation it would solve the 2 part weapon issue

We really need a quick loadout because it’s so frustrating to do over again like you just completed loading your stratagem but the host cancel then enter hellpod and start over again but this time I pick the wrong stratagem.
Preparing for a dive is only 5-8 mouse clicks away, but are you tired yet? And there's still ~30 minutes to go.
The lack of loadout forces you to think about what you take, strengthening your team and adapting to the task.
Or you take the same gear regardless of the mission and the equipment of your squadmates.

@@simpslayer7417 Always when I asked what it was like to play shooters on gamepad, I was told that it was very comfortable, but apparently that was an exaggeration.
I have been using the stA-52 since the killzone colab and saw that there were shotgun and grenade launcher attachments for the same weapon platform. If AH makes an AR weapon with an underbarrel alt weapon attachment, that would be an instant purchase for me.
Fighting Zerg would be badass. Would need a major overhaul of the Termanids to make it work though.
it'd be neat to see the minigun work like the vulcanette in hideous destructor. if you look up pictures for it it'll look like doom but that's because it's an overhaul to make doom into a tactical shooter vs demons.

- constant aim drop aka negative recoil due to its heavyness, this able to be counteracted by crouching or proning
- a 700 rpm or 2100 rpm mode
- having multiple magazine wells so it has 250 ammo capacity but requires 5 magazines to be fully loaded.
you could also give it exaggerated recoil when not firing from crouch/prone or even ragdoll you and knock you over.
I think the devs tactically turned off the dss so we don't obliterate the illuminate in a day and while the station is off they can work on it
They need a "CAS"(Close Air Support) Stratagem where aircraft can do strafing runs, and gunships follow you for 20 seconds.
my CAS strafing run + sound mod A-10, what more do you need to be happy?

I need them to change the anticheat program. I love this game, but a few of my close friends refuse to buy it while the rootkit anticheat remains in place.
Easy fix, give us the mini gun as a secondary that comes with the backpack.

The gun comes alone, and no ammo but you bring the ammo backpack.

for a minigun strat, all they need to do is give the player the patriot exo-suit mini gun (med AP n watever RoF it is) with an ammo pack containing 1000rnds (like the mech) and ammo boxes replenshish 250rnds or one quarter of full pack.
advantage to using the patriot over the minigun strat is a single loaded rocket sentry, separate health pool, immune to environmental hazards, fire n gas.
eitherway, the patriot n the minigun strat both only take up one slot. balanced and the work is alrdy in the game. just grab the right arm to the patriot!
With 1000 rounds of 7.62x51 (standard ammo for minigun) that’s 60 lbs on your back. The lightweight minigun model weighs a little over 40 lbs. From what the devs have said, they are trying to make the minigun in-game somewhat realistic. So expect a drastic reduction to run speed and increased stamina drain.
@Joker9331 ya i could appreciate the stamina drain, for a video game n irl. but 60 + 40lbs w most of the weight on your back? that's really not a big deal for someone who's in shape. guess that's why it was such a great look for jessie ventura.

You make it seem like they don't already have realism. There's a reason why we don't have Liberators with 100 magazines and sniper rifles shooting rockets, the game designers have military backgrounds and most of these weapons are realistic.

@jefferywilliams2624 Realism just dampens imagination and makes it so they cant take risks when making new things, its dumb, we are in space fighting robots, 12 foot tall bugs and walking squids. The game is more arcade-like in nature, if you want realism go play a realistic game

I agree that minigun recoil is unbearable for human, unless you're terminator, or the minigun attach to something heavy like truck or heli.
That's why we saw heavy devastator with minigun
A handheld minigun or handheld .50 is easy, but a 100g (~3 ounce) mouse is horrible how hard it is, impossible to aim.

I would love if they added a service medal you could earn for each planet after completing operations, I think it would be a cool way to incentivize people to complete operations and a fun way to keep track of what planets you have fought on

And if they want to collab I say whatever makes more money for arrowhead just make it cool
I have an idea for the chaosdivers, rather than being a faction we could be the chaosdivers, hear me out basically you could switch between helldivers and chaosdivers when you like and chaosdivers can still fight the usual enemies but encounter helldivers in those missions, maybe even attack super earth time to time, I think the ship names would be funny too, "hater of family values"

@Mr_Bo6r they're talking about adding backwards knockback on the yet to ba added minigun and the already underwhelming HMG, in addition to changing stamina mechanics specifically for the minigun. The xm556 is a thing that exists in our world now from like 40 years ago... yes a full sized minigun firing .308 at a fucktillion rpm is not man portable with today's tech... helldivers doesn't have today's tech, they have infinite use instant jump drive nonsense, we can hipfire the 20mm autocannon full auto and sprint/climb/ w/e just fine, but a minigun and potentially the hmg are a step too far........ its double standards is me point
@@bricken10 oh so you need a minigun for caliber 556, i.e. you need a Stalwart on steroids, but with one magazine for 1000 rounds in the backpack and increased speed in 4 times.... no problem, I thought everyone wanted at least a m134 or even a GAU-19 instead of a one hand pistol.

People are whining about how you'll probably need to use samples to upgrade your weapons because they still haven't finished their ships. That's on you man, its not hard to get samples. Quit playing on easy difficulty and maybe you'd actually finish your shit. No one ever wants to work for their shit anymore. Learn to grind

Please don’t make helldivers 2 like Fortnite. I understand they aren’t branching out too far with crossovers but I don’t want like half the armors in the game if all the cool stuff to not be originally helldivers.
A WH Krieger, a SW Stormtrooper and a SC Marine land on a mission. Helldiver looks at them and weeps bitterly.

Why does nobody talk about the in game progression(lack of). The warbounds are cool and all, but we need in game progression. Otherwise it’s just an arcade game on steroids
