relate so much to the scared to take time off mentality... we gotta break free from that! I think it's especially hard with a hybrid work model where I feel like I can be working from anywhere (so why should I need to take time off). Need to remember I don't live to work!

I had exactly the same experience with contact lenses- it felt so weird but also they are so handy to have, particularly for holidays. I think it is to do with the fact that glasses sit 1cm or so in front of your eyes but contacts are directly in your eyes so it changes where the correction happens- you do get used to it tho!
Also, happy work anniversary! I had my 15 year one last year, which is so crazy, I don't know where the time has gone!
i think that might be why!! i find it so weird not having lenses in front of my eyes 😅 and tysm! time flies haha
a lot of body aches and back pain that is attributed to sitting at a desk all day usually isn’t related to not sitting in a “perfect posture”. it’s just lack of movement. changing positions or taking small breaks to move around during the day can be very helpful too!

I was 26 and a coworker asked me if I am 30 -.- and when I said I am not, that I am only 26 she was like super surprised! can people shut up about stuff like that? it is rude af.
Asking how old you are is rude af? How lmao
it doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing. they might attribute you being older because of how successful you are, which is what I think the case was with Sarah. Also, 30 year olds don't look as old as everyone thinks.
@@akoso21 i think it's not asking it's assuming a person's age and mind you to some women assuming they are older is kinda rude to them, instead of saying, Are you 30?
Saying How old are you straight up is better than just assuming.
@@akoso21 not knowing how to properly read is rude. show me where I said I was offended at being asked how old i am lamo xd I have no problem saying my age but assuming? then being surprised? you never know where someone is at their journey, maybe they were teased their whole life for looking old and tired? maybe they have much younger partner and they are worried they will be mocked as a couple? or maybe, like me, as a teen you were assumed to be of age because of my shape and curves and harassed by older dudes. my life motto is kindness (mind you that I will not throw punches first but I will not hesitate to punch back if attacked) and assuming someone's age is not kind. I regret being silent and timid at that moment cos I should've told her how rude she was and asked her how much she weight and pretend to be shocked at the answer. well, I was taken by surprise then and I'll not be again.

I am almost 31 now and that kind of stuff wouldn't bother me as much but 5 years ago it was a blow to my very crumbly self-esteem and I wish people would think before opening their mouths.

Are you happy working from home, 9-5, as a Software Engineer?
Sr. Dev here and no, I would recommend you take all the time they give to you. There is a reason they are REQUIRED to provide that time off. Do your job, make the money, then enjoy LIFE 💙 They will literally work you to death if you let them. Have a coworker who doesn't set boundaries and that woman is answering calls ( on her personal phone!!! ) at 11p at night, weekends, getting threatened that they'll escalate things up the chain, working from home all hours AFTER her 8-5, all of that and No 🚫🙅🏽♀️🚫
