- Just watch to the end , problems can appear and get dangerous so quick,
But my design for a bottom drain purge and the sump pumping to irrigate the garden are in
Martin, so sorry about the Koi you lost, thank god you were able to spot a problem and act quickly to save the others, I hope they continue to improve, best wishes, Tony😀
Cheers tony , thanks mate yes all seems to be ok now with the others and they are slowly getting back to the way they were 👍👍😎😎
You do have some stunning fish there! Such a nice set up. Sorry to hear you have lost one. This hobby can be a real mood hoover at times!!
Thanks so much mate can’t beat an in ground pond for the natural look but it does make every other aspect of the hobby harder 🤣, your so right , but I can be thankful it was just the one and the others seem to be getting back on track 👍👍😎😎
Sorry for your loss Martin, sometimes this hobby sucks, but glad your getting back on track, all the best pal
A lot of Koi Keepers on youtube and club members not on youtube have had the same issues or similar Martin, including myself. You will get to the bottom of it, I know you will. Don't let your guard down.
Cheers stef mate , your right it’s been a real pants year for many people , something has not been right with the water for far to many to just be a coincidence 👍😎😎
First and a big 👍 still watching pal
Tank museum
And Stubland that has to be good 😂.. Stubbs 👍
Sorry Martin for your bad luck hope you find out what problem was good luck mate 👍I think maybe right on weed killer after seeing your wood work
Mate thanks , I’ve written to the council voicing my concerns , it definitely seems to be the weed killer as a few plants in line with the droplets on my paint work and the pond turned brown and died ,makes me despair and some people lack lustre way of doing things 👍👍😎😎
Yes don't think people have ponds in gardens koi are expensive never easy loose one but could been alot worst mate glad others doing ok 👍
Hi Martin, what a bummer mate. I'm just not sure what's going on with our ponds this season, I've had a nightmare season, to the point I've got myself so stressed about it, I was thinking about packing it all up. I hope you've got your problem sorted now mate🤞🤞🤞take care, Terry.
Totally agree Terry, WTF has happened this season ?
@Wrighty I can second that
Cheers terry mate sorry for late reply , work gets in the way, I know exactly what you mean

But I also think that this season has been bad for a lot of people not just of the weather but I feel that the water quality from our taps have changed drastically, on my latest water report copper zinc and manganese were all high just fit for for human consumption, but those levels are extremely toxic to aquatic life , if it’s not that there’s something been going on this year that’s for sure 👍👍😎😎
No worries mate 👍👍We've just had about 200 new houses built in our little village, so I think that's where the water problems are coming from. I do have a water report for our area, but to be honest, I don't understand it all 😂😂take care mate, Terry.
What a shame about the Tancho, really nice fish😢 sorry Martin. Im glad to see they seem to be over the worst, we have the council come on to some land at the back of us with high strength weed killer and it terrifies the life out of me.

Only one Problem Martin, Your too bloody far away for me to give ya a hug and say " Its OK, Loosing a Fish is apart of the Hobby"
It sucks when it happens especially when external forces out of your control come along and cause havoc.
Looking forward to the Italian Trip Vid, So I can try and Replicate it in Eurotruck Simulator 2 !!
Bless ya buddy , yes vid to Italy dropping asap yet again work is slowing things down but it will be in a couple of parts 👍👍😎😎
Proper gutting that loss and as for accident “must of been spraying quite high” 🤔 to get over yr main wall .? I housed my pond for all elements and possibilities and it’s been the best thing I done
Oh crap... Sorry buddy...
Ya the fluke numbers seem ok.
Did you give them a salt bath when you had them out?
Oh many sorry about your loss. Once the gills look like that... It usually doesn't go well for them.
I am really sorry Martin
Weird about that acid like stuff... Almost like Petro.
Oh shit... Sprayers .. that will do it ..
Could it have been a PH crash and that lead to acidosis. That happened to me, from years of having a stable ph and a kh of 6 drops from my tap water it went down to yellow with 1 drop. My fish looked terrible and the water was just as bad but my api ph test was showing the ph was fine and normal (it wasn't and the kit was in date and stored correctly) I got a new test kit which showed my ph was 6.4. I had also ordered a bluelab guardian which when turned up backed up the results. I buffered up with bicarb and everything gradually went back to normal.
I now have to add 1 cup of bicarb per week but with the bluelab I can watch my ph dropping as the week goes on. Just a thought. Glad it all looks to be on the mend.
That sound from the lancaster is such an amazing sound. Cheers.
Such a shame, I think you’re right about the spray, it would have sat on the surface and when your feeder went off they probably ingested it then. It would have been almost full strength. On the colour fading my theory is that soft water is better for reds and hard water is better for blacks. Since I moved to a very hard water area, I’ve got good fish that have lost most of their red but the blacks are very strong.
I think so to tony , thanks mate , I’ve written to the council voicing my concerns , it definitely seems to be the weed killer as a few plants in line with the droplets on my paint work and the pond turned brown and died ,makes me despair and some people lack lustre way of doing things 👍👍😎😎
Subscribed buddy 😎👍
Thanks mate it’s appreciated 👍👍😎😎
Herfy for me
Ohh good old herfy hand bag or 2 👍👍😵💫
I hope it was 0.3 not 3% 😂😂😂 gutted about the showa .. sodium thiosulphate is always a good one if you think contamination
If it was that weedkiller you're very lucky to only lose one
