Actually "seeing the future" is a little overpercepted. Anime really tries to show their abilities as almost superpowers (i'm not saying it isn't cool cus it is xDD). Manga tries to explaing his "emperor eye" a little better as well as others abilities of generation of miracle's. Akashi is the absolute madman when it comes to reading body language. He can tell by the slowest moves what the player he's guarding will do. It actually shows how big his knowledge is when it comes to basketball. More than that he's absolute master of ball handling (as expected of point guard actually). Combining his perception, great reflexes and ball handling we achieve an awful lot of ankle breakers and generally a beast of a player. That's just some lore if someone's interested. i think Akashi is a mix between allen iverson and Jason williams.
Akashi prediction doesn't apply on Aomine' style. Prediction is based on a foundation of movement, like when entering shooting motion or about to make a fast drive. It had been stated that Aomine is unorthodox therefore he is unpredictable.

Gold's beliel eye which is basically the same if not a lesser version of complete EE literally blocked Aomine's shot and to top it off Gold wasn't the primary defender for Aomine and was far from him yet he still predicted where he was going then blocked the shot.
Akashi predicts based on what he sees with EE as long as Aomine has rythym, breathes, sweats, contracts or moves his mucsles Akashi will predict based on those, hence Gold blocked Aomine despite being far since he predicted his movements otherwise he would have never been able to block Aomine.
The rest of uncrow kings is gonna show in other game

honestly most people could guess what kind of abilities Akashi would have at that point, but he had really good perspective and understanding on getting to that conclusion

fr I was shock when he "predicted" it almost perfectly
i feel just being able to predict moves doesn’t mean u will be able to react fast enough or do anything about i feel like thanks to akashi’s intellect, speed, and dribbling skill is why he so good he technically he does have physical attributes like speed and great handles seeing as he uses high speed dribbling for his ankle breaking technique
emperor eye actually didnt see the future, but instead his eye capable of reading every information on his opponent such as heartbeat, muscle contraction, sweat etc, based on those information he able to anticipate his opponent movement and make him looks like reading the future, this info told by murasakibara in manga which is original souce, the anime tho failed to tell it properly making it like straight reading future.

I love this mini flashback of Midorima with his senpais and how miffed he was over Rakuzan insulting his teammates, shows how close he got with his teammates.
Speaking of teammates another thing I like about Shutoku is how they are the "least reliant" of the other GoM Teams with their respective GoM besides the first game.
Like, they don't fret over Midorima being the only one with a fighting chance and Midorima assists his teammates as much too. He also doesn't worry or doubt about the competency of his teammates, he has 100% trust on them like this game shows.
Shutoku crew is basically like a big family haha

Akashi has more on his sleeve, not spoiling anything tho but a little background on Akashi is that he is a God when it comes to ball handling, in the Anime he is represented as a solid true point guard, and about what you said about akashi defeating aomine, I think that might be difficult because Aomine is Unpredictable, we've all seen Aomine doing formless shots, and he is a master in adjusting his shot the moment it was stopped, so I don't think Aomine will go down easily.
Aomine is unpredictable and unstoppable to average player but we have seen or known people stop Aomine before like Kise, Kagami, Nash, Murasakibara etc.
I don't think Aomine will go down easily but he will lose to Akashi.

There are technical reasons why Aomine can beat Akashi 1 v 1 but for me the biggest reason is thematic: if all Aomine needed was a rival, and Akashi was stronger than him, he could have just went to a different school as soon as things started to get too boring. And even IF you wanna say for whatever reason he somehow had to stay with Takeo his reaction wouldn't be "man I'm depressed I have no rivals" through out the series it would be "man I really wanna face Akashi!" He'd be out asking Akashi to play against him every day, or at least be practicing hard to face him in a tournament. Why didn't he? Occam's razor says it's because he's stronger & knows it.
