The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
What I like about this rendition of “Come, Come Ye Saints” is that it sounds *happy*. I’m a descendant of the man who wrote it, and it’s a happy story, not a sad one.
William Clayton was a runner for the Church, meaning he rode back and forth along the pioneer trail to guide people and make sure people were OK, to deliver supplies and deliver messages. His wife was pregnant, and one day he got a message while he was on one of those runs and away from home that his wife had given birth to a “a big, fat, baby boy!” meaning the baby was likely to survive. Not only had his wife safely delivered but the baby was going to be OK! He wrote “Come, Come Ye Saints” shortly after. It’s such a happy, relief-filled story, lined with gratitude, but the song is often sung so sad (which, with just the words and no context, I don’t blame people. And few people look up the history of songs haha).
I love hearing it sound happy. It makes me feel more connected to my ancestor and his feelings when he wrote it
How are you related? I am a great-great-niece. I recognize you're sentiments. I love to celebrate with Come, Come Ye Saints.
One of the reasons I learned to play guitar was because of "Come, Come Ye Saints". I've always thought of it as a happy song and play it as such and it brings me so much joy. I've been known to play a rousing rendition on Sunday mornings to get everyone up and ready for Church. Thanks for the song, William!
Thank you for music. The voice of Nik Day seems to be the voice of an Angel of the Lord!
Thanks, guys! I'm glad you like the video!
Nik Day i love this song and video so much and I love to study out of the book of Mormon and I love to go out with the missionary work
Question; How does one be part of mormon channel studios? :)

That was the best rendition of "Come, Come, Ye Saints" I've ever heard. Wonderful!
Mackenzie Taylor then you really need to hear Motab sing it.
Great job Nik....I see you singing but I can still picture you trying to get up on that wakeboard. You have come a long way since that day at the lake with us. So proud of you
