  • Welcome to my channel! In this video, I am thrilled to share with you the exciting process of restoring a broken blade of a USA Schrade Old Timer 5OT. It all started when I traded a crock pot for a collection of old beat-up knives, and out of all of them, this gem truly caught my eye.

This vintage pocket knife is the ultimate everyday carry (EDC) companion. Its slim design, lightweight nature, and perfect fit in the hand make it a must-have for any knife enthusiast. However, as you'll see, it arrived in quite a sorry state.

My primary focus is on delivering a deep cleaning that will leave this knife looking and performing like new. But that's not all - I'll also be showcasing my skills by repairing the blade flawlessly.
By the end of this video, you'll be amazed at how seamlessly I restored this vintage EDC to perfection. Had I not mentioned it, you wouldn't even know that the blade had been broken! So, get ready to witness the magic happen.

Very nice save on that Old Timer Bruin. That new spear point on the blade looks like it came that way from the factory. Thanks for sharing your work on this. - Tennessee Smoky

Absolutely phenomenal job once again!!! I just want to thank you for doing these videos. After watching countless videos of yours, I actually tried some of the pointers you give and some of the techniques you use to clean my own flea market find, and I was amazed at how well it turned out. I was also surprised at how good of a feeling it gave me to clean / restore a knife that I got for $5!!! So, thank you so sooo much!!! Keep it up & you'll be at 10K subscribers before ya know it.

Good job on fixing that 5OT. I love the Old timer and all the Schrade knives. I have a bunch of them and I believe that they are just as good, if not better then all the others. My favorite is the 6OT or the 7OT depending on my mood of the day. I have larger hands with arthritis so I need a larger knife or I will drop it. LOL - Later

Hi Kevin, Thanks for doing all this knife rescue journey for us. I am a disabled Nam vet Navy on USS MIDWAY CVA 41. My disability has been from MS for 40 years now . I am a quadriplegic , have been in a motorized wheelchair for years. I am 75, and doing my knives has given me a house of pleasure . I just can't get out to plain shops or swap meets. Now the hunt is out of the question for me. You are a great man, husband, grandpa, and American Marine veteran . Just wish I was younger when I found your site. And you get all those gifts I sent you one for your showroom .

Get you some popsicle sticks. Wrap your sandpaper around it and you can get the inside of the knife real good then.
