I’ll be watching. I just watched your rematch for Glory 32. Congrats on winning. I took up kickboxing recently and found your channel and I wanted to say thank you for the advise on training, analyzing fights and everything else. I’m a big fan of yours as a kickboxer but even more a fan of your personality. Thanks for everything you do.
In MMA, being able to strike grounded opponents for the TKO can seem rough sometimes, but then you see someone get their brain rattled twice in a row and then get stood up to get it completely switched off and collapse face down on the mat seconds later... that KO might have taken some years off Nong-O's life
They should be stricter with KO’s, if you are wobbly they should just stop it. I get getting knocked down and standing back up, but he was clearly mentally still down.
Damn watching Nong O lost in space feels weird. Such a fierce warrior. As for Haggerty I feel his weight gain suits him more. He moves gracefully. Wasn't expecting such an ending.
Man those combinations were sharp, crisp, and devastating. Do Muay Thai fighters usually throw hand combinations like that, or is that something one picks up more from the boxing side of things?
There are Muay Thai fighters that go heavier on the hands. How much of that is because of boxing experience probably varies, but there are big punchers in the sport.
Muay Thai actually has specific classifications for fighters, one of them being brawler types that rely on fists more. The Thai name escapes me but it would be those that would lean into these combos more. Of course there’s also natural cross fertilization from boxers and kickboxers joining the sport.
He was on his toes and able to skip into his kicks. Nong O is old school Thai style where the weight isn't always 50/50 between the feet. With boxing gloves this works defensively because it allows a light lead leg that won't hurt as bad if gets kicked or can lift his leg to check. With those smaller gloves, Haggerty's footwork made him very quick.
His hands were so crisp. I don’t remember seeing too many foreigners there and had to get up super early to get to Lumpinee, but was cool to see live. It didn’t sink in much since went straight to training after and didn’t talk much about it, but now I can experience it differently.
I've been a fan of Haggerty since I saw the fights with Rodtang! All his fights are awesome to watch and ONE seems really good at matching opponents. I think he's going to take Andrade out. He has some of the best teeps also. Donno if you have been following Tyson Harrison, but he's been exciting to watch in the Friday night fights at Lumpinee.
Hey Gabriel, I'm looking for videos explaining how the weight ins in muay thai works. Could you do a video talking about it? It would be very educative.
hi mr varga i am a very fast heavyweight and was wondering if youd maybe give me some tips on how to build a strategy around that? (i mean that humbly, im just pretty fast for a heavy weight)
My idol will always a Rodtang. 2 times haggerty defeated by Rodtang and this championshop will be the test for Haggerty to measure his skill and strenght. Nong O was a world class muay thai fighter like Rodtang. But Rodtang is from another highest class in kickboxing championship and matches between Rodtang and Haggerty will be remembered as a Rodtang comes out as a winner.
So do they not believe in stopping the fight before a full KO? He clearly couldn’t defend himself at all after the first and second knock downs. Is getting completely knocked out a requirement to stop the fight?
Referee probably gave him some leeway because it’s a title fight and it’s Nong-O who was the champ, was destroying everyone in ONE and is a legend of the sport. There would’ve been a controversy about an early stoppage when he stands right back up and is still signalling he’s willing to fight. If it was any other fight it might’ve been stopped on most occasions after the second knockdown (maybe even the first with some refs) but because it’s a title fight and it’s Nong-O they give extra leeway in these types of situations and try to give him the benefit of the doubt and give him the chance to comeback. Imagine if the ref waved off Fury when he was basically unconscious against Wilder in the first fight… we would never have gotten that iconic moment and Tyson would’ve been robbed.
Ref taking the “neutral corner during 8 count” rule as more of a suggestion. 😅 Also, how bad does it need to be for a fighter to fail a ONE drug test. 😬
now i have great respect for all those who compete in competitions but please don't risk injury, i personally have key words to communicate with my corner if i dont feel 100% to carry out the round i will throw in the towel for my safety. not enough money in this gotta play it smart.
How much gear do they let the Thais take? My dude has delts like cannon balls. (Detls and Traps are the sure sign of a Gear Boi) LOL! Contrast that with Haggerty who's just a skinny kid, but basically has no bulky muscles at all. #SloppyJobSteroidSquad ;)
Was it Petchtanong that failed the drug test? I know he failed one. I just wonder if that's the one that failed or if there was another fighter that failed.
Haggerty being kind of a dick with the constant rushing in and having to have the ref PUSH him back...he bows at the end, but shows shitty respect to the rules during the fight.
Who's watching Haggerty tomorrow?
Yes, with the free Russian links I am
Definitely me! I always watch ONE

@gstgermaine7506 Never pay brother
In today's kickboxing match, Haggerty was four pounds lighter than Andrade, but he still dominated and won.
What a fight! And such respect shown between fighters too, always nice to see. Thanks for the coverage dude.

The latter

I'm still shocked how he managed to ko Nong O and I watched it a couple of times already

Calf kicks are legal in muay thai?
Hope they give you the kickboxing title fight footage later to breakdown
I love your vids! 👏🏻
Huge ko and just as huge respect between warriors.👊💪
but what a great match loved to see it go down. very nice

Jonathan Haggerty Degree, WBC Muay Thai Champion 🎉🎉🎉
hi mr varga i am a very fast heavyweight and was wondering if youd maybe give me some tips on how to build a strategy around that? (i mean that humbly, im just pretty fast for a heavy weight)
I must’ve watched this fight a hundred times
Wow what a shock. Congratulations to Haggerty who knocked out the Thai champion
Looking forward to your reaction and analysis of Saenchai vs Buakaw in BKFC fight

I cant wait for a rematch of these two especially if nong o takes it more seriously and doesnt do seminars everywhere
Is there no neutral corner rule? Haggerty seemed to stay right in the center of the ring after the first knockdown.
Credit to Jon and I feel that Nong O took this too lightly. The way he walked to the ring and the vibes...Just my two cents
I agreed 100%
Holy F*CK what a fight!!!!!!!!!
Haggerty form is so sharp, so impressive and powerful.
this was such a huge upset

Tomorrow i am sure that Haggerty wins this fight!!!he is a great fighter!!
Haggerty's technique is cleaner than Mr Rogers' conscience.
Haggerty shorts are 🔥
Heyyy, OneFC sent you a fight. Does it mean that you are in contact? Does it mean that you will fight for them😮😮😮?
Ref taking the “neutral corner during 8 count” rule as more of a suggestion. 😅

Kelemahan Nong o.dia trlalu fokus mengandalkan kaki main bawah.ktemu lawan main atas dia panik
4oz gloves are different no matter how tough you are.
Very funny Nong O cant accepted his loses to Haggerty. Living legend 😂

How is this the same weight class. Haggerty looks bigger, stronger and heavier.
Bigger. Not havier. Just compare their legs
@@1individeoHe is though
The fight should have been stopped after the second knockdown. Nong-O couldn't effectively defend himself after that.
It’s scored 3 knockdowns in Muay thaï
I’m glad he adopted the Thai custom of concern for his opponent after a KO.
Was it Petchtanong that failed the drug test? I know he failed one. I just wonder if that's the one that failed or if there was another fighter that failed.
criiiisp
Nong has a poor defence .
Nong O dont know how to accepting respect from Haggerty. I think Prajanchai most better than him in a fight, technique and attitude as a great fighter
อ่อนมาก🤣🤣🤣
Haggerty being kind of a dick with the constant rushing in and having to have the ref PUSH him back...he bows at the end, but shows shitty respect to the rules during the fight.
Man was about to KO one of the greatest ever, I'd be in a rush too
Its a fight, If u think he shouldnt do that then maybe u should not watch fights
Less of being a dick and more about being really eager. You can understand his enthusiasm, right?
