If you look at most of the US media websites, Harris has gone down very well, far better than people commenting here realise. We can criticise her all we like, but Americans seem to be really liking her.
Why doesn't she call for an end to the opened southern border
Because Trump told the Republicans to shut down the bill that James Lankford, Republican Senator from Oklahoma helped to negotiate. So yes they only acted when it became a political liability, in the 11th hour, but an actual bill to solve the problem was shot down by Republicans. I have been hearing about immigration as a problem since I was child. The entire US government can’t figure it out for decades because they are all incompetent or because it is advantageous to never figure it out. I think the latter.

Your female analyst, with all due respect, seemed to miss the boat on the speech. Perhaps not alot of detail but there was more policy in every paragraph then there has been in any of Trumps speeches.

That’s why there is a vice-president. In the British system, there’s a deputy prime minister handpicked by the prime minister, and that person can also be used strategically. But you’re wrong in your comparison... Her arrival ´resets’ the race competent. Let’s add that he was reluctant to run in 2020, or made it seem like it. In America, each party have their own rules pertaining to choosing a nominee, and the democrats acted within their rules. They definitely planned this (down to Biden overplaying the cognitively challenged old man at the televised debate) and its a brilliant tactic.
