The best way for the cake to be frosted is to hold it with your hand and do the top, cure, part of a side, cure, and continue that so it doesn’t get so messy
Maybe with the cake you could frost the top, add the toppings, cure the resin, then frost the outside and cure it again? That would be my way to go about it, I think :)
I have did the checker cake one in the past and mine turned out perfect just like in their picture actually. But I didn’t do what Dr Squish did to it. I just took my time & put it under UV light for each section. First section was the side section, I placed my fingers on the top & bottom while I covered the yellow sections only on the side of the cake. Then UV light that. Next do the checker inside section. UV light that next. Then do the bottom portion of the cake and ofcourse UV it next. Then do the yellow top portion of the cake and be sure to add the white cream decorations in a cute circle around the cake top section & finally UV that portion too. Then do the same exact steps to the sliced cake piece & UV it as well. ❤😂🎉😊 LOL I wish that I would have remembered to record it for my videos on my other UA-cam channel but my camera battery died early on in my video recording and I didn’t realize it until after I was completely done with the entire process. LOL 😢 So I just decided not to post anything on it. Sorry to my followers on my other UA-cam channels. ❤😢😊🎉😂

Yes! Definitely a better way to do it. I just always like to show the way the instructions say to do it because that’s how most people will try it first. But for sure it wasn’t the best! Some of them come with a little piece of parchment decoration. You’d think they could throw a square in!😂

For the mint cake, do it in steps. Do the top and hold the sides. Cook it. Then do the sides wnile holding the top, and cook. You NEVER have to do all the resin at once. You can do it in stages and cook it multiple times. You can also add the resin in multiple super thin layers which makes it go on smoother and not as see through. My cake turned out very smooth and very detailed. Then i did a second cake with only the frosting on top, and i piped it onto the top in a fancy pattern. And i left the sides visible except for piping some dots which i used to add chips in a pattern.
I have an idea. You should put random things in a bag, then randomly grab them out and put them in the squishy maker. I want to see what funny and crazy squishys you get.

@@angelajohnson7834 with any resin project the best cleanup is using Isopropyl alcohol, I get a bottle of 70% at my dollar tree and cotton rounds to clean my hands/craft table and any tools/molds/cups I've been using with resin! 💙
@@DoctorSquish alcohol wipes is how u remove resin from ur hands n any surfaces. Also just a tip, don't rely on the directions to these lol. They need to work on them tbh, like the sushi, they need to add u have to add a drop of resin to the toppings then cure again, the tacos u add resin after adding each topping n cure each time. N the cake u have to do it in sections curing each time. Many of them r like this. I'm obsessed with these things but the directions r lacking on most. Just a little advice.
For the cake and things like the cake what I do is use a tweezers and try to hold a piece and paint it that way or what I do is like take a safety pin and then I try to wiggle the plastic piece onto the safety pin that way I have something that can hold up the cake while I am frosting it And I also leave a silicone mat down while I do mini verse and use rubbing alcohol to get rid of any UV resin residue
i think it's already been said, but i used a little bit of clear resin leftover from a previous kit and stuck the sashimi to the rice! i considered doing the same to have the full nigiri stuck down to the plate but i make these for dolls so i want them to be able to hold them! :>
