We have a rebuild that hasn't had a rookie start the season last year or this, with an average age of 28.45. Most of the other teams that are rebuilding including the Senators, Blue Jackets, Sharks, Sabres, Canadiens, and Ducks are amongst the 10 youngest teams in the league. The Red Wings are the 9th oldest. This isn't a rebuild.
Look at the wings average age after you take talbot out. It drops them down. They had to build a whole new prospect pool. Chicago won't have a rookie to start this season either.
Anddddd, how many of the aforementioned teams finished worse in standings than the Wings last year? It's definitely still a rebuild, just at a later stage of it.
Ed might not be Calder eligible, but he is still a rookie , and he's going to be playing in the top four. Johansen might not be in everydayer, but he's also a rookie and on the roster. I'm frustrated we couldn't have a forward Make the push too, but I'm pretty confident we'll see Kasper pretty quickly.
This 2024-25 roster was SOOOOOOOOOO predictable. Apparently only injuries are going to force management to play the young guys.Kasper and Mazur (maybe even Danielson) are ready to play and contribute in the NHL right now. For no good reason, most of the veterans lacked urgency and tenacity in the preseason. This roster has NO sandpaper or mean intimidation I've been hoping for for years. Stevie Y must forget what Probert, Kocur McCarty and Konstantinov did for him and his teammates.
I don’t feel we filled the gaps left with the departure of Perron, Ghost, Sprong and Walman. Our young guys are gonna have to really show up and give us some depth.
Perron is terrible, he is probably the slowest player in the entire league. Takes the stupidest penalties at the worst times. The PP will be better without him.
The MAIN thing you are correct about is Ghost, Sprong and Walman provided plenty of GAPs in there defensive coverage. They were ALL huge defensive liabilities. I liked what they brought offensively, BUT not at the expense of BAD defense.
Lalonde is the worst coach at managing his goalies I have ever seen. He overworks one and runs them into the ground, never pulls them when they are getting shelled. Didn't play Lyon the first month last year and couldn't even dress the right backup when they carried 3 goalies. Lyon only won 3 of his last 16 games, he didn't play Reimer enough.
@@danb239 husso was the starter, reimer was the back up, lyon was the 3rd. Plain and simple lyon wasn't established as an nhl regular yet but yzerman didn't want to send him down. Husso got hurt, reimer was playing like shit, so he had to go to lyon. Every time he tried to go to reimer, reimer was shit.
Thanks for improving the audio
A great Cat quote would be: “Ya know, if ya know, ya know, ya know?
Says it way to much
Good luck boys
Red Wings and then the rest
You gotta bring it
The whole way

Um edvinsson and johansson are rookies lol
Lmfao the others have also been in rebuilds longer and are letting their youth get destroyed.

Give Berggren a chance with Kane

We filled Perron’s hole with Vlad but we have major holes in our defense.

Larkin proved that he's not a leader this preseason. 3 illegal headshots - disgraceful. Seider for captain.

I don’t have confidence in the coaching
Great move Fester!! Sign a tough guy and send him to GR. Boy you never cease to disappoint.

Worst rebuild ever
They sent watson down. They have 22 of 23 spots filled. Plus we have 2 rookies on defense
This team is good despite what lots of people are saying. Just wait and see
Nah Buffalo is worse by default. They've been rebuilding for over a decade and have had a dozen top 3 picks and still miss the playoffs every year
