And one more thing, Expatrio provides a free German bank account, which can be opened without a Residence Permit!
Hey Samiksha,
I received an offer from HTW Dresden yesterday and I've decided to accept it. However, a few days ago, VFS opened booking slots for visa appointments. I had booked a slot for August 29th, anticipating that all slots would be taken soon, even though I hadn't received the offer yet. Now, I'm in a tricky situation. The revised blocked account requirement, applicable from September 1st, doesn't technically apply to me. Given my tight budget, should I still deposit €11,300?
Hi Kaif, so you’re going to study for the WS2024, and the new amount is said to be revised from Sept 2024. In cases where you have an appointment in August, I would suggest you still block the new amount which is 11904 euros because otherwise there are chances that the embassy may contact you for increasing this amount during processing of your application. To be on the safe side, apply with the new blocked amount. If you’ve already blocked your money, you can update it with Expatrio.
@@careercraftingwithsamiksha Ok, I have to take my chance, it seems.😭
And at least how much money one should carry in-hand cash and in forex? (Survival mode)
So to be specific this depends on what sort of accommodation you have got, when and how you should pay the rent and deposit as this is the major expense to be paid. Generally, I suggest 500 euro cash for urgencies and groceries and 1000 euros as forex (you can pay your deposit with this if you need to eventually use up this amount) and carry your international debit card for any unanticipated expenses. Hope this helps!

Samiksha i want to pursue masters in data analytics. Do u have any suggestions for me? And also please mention your linkdin so that i can connect with u.
Hi Neeraj, data analytics is a promising field both in India and in Germany. Top universities offering the course are TUM, LMU and RWTH Aachen . But there are several other great public universities that you could target. This is currently a competitive field and so ensure you have a strong profile possibly with some work experience for securing admission into a public university.
