One thing to remember. A beat can be dope, but eventually you are going to want someone to rhyme over it. Ensure that when you are listening back to your track you have an intro, chorus (hook), and verse. The verse section you should air out, pull back on some of the samples and other musical elements. Once you have that good, play it back and try to rap over it. it doesn't have to make sense, it could be gibberish, but imagine something hooky and something more like a verse and ask yourself, can someone flow over this. If so. You got a banger.
Great advice , I do always keep some lyrics around to test the beat I’m working on, or if I start to do some freestyle , then I know I’m in the right path
I'm just starting creating music and your tutorials are awesome dude. Really helping me understand the impact of all the sounds in a beat. Thank you so much man!
Great job! I've been trying to finish many projects in Ableton for over a year now. Thanks to your tutorial, I think I will finish all the beats. I always freeze when stretching and adding variations to my beats. Thank you.
A breath of fresh air not seeing "CHECK THIS ULTIMATE TIP FOR TRAP/DUBSTEP!" Great work! Not a fan of beats and rap music in general but boom bap has always hit me in the right spot though.
For the love of cristo I cannot figure out how to modulate man. Spent 20 mins now trying to figure out how u modulated the halftime plugin at 3:38. Shits bothering me to my core. Like how the hell do u switch from automation to modulation in arrangement view like that?!?! Everything I look up says it's in the clip view but I can't seem to find it and I've done every other step the exact same as u - any help would be great yall?!!?
Hey man, I downloaded kontact because it seemed so easy and man I can't find anything vst plug ins, it's like the program isn't on my Mac, but I can open up it up
make sure the track you have them on is 'armed' and you should be able to just push the buttons that the chops are on, might have to make sure you're keyboard is in the octave where the chops are as well.
When i drag the sample down it doesn't do shit and shows me this '🚫' as my mouse. No idea how to fix it, it worked for one moment and then just not anymore
I searched the web to see who is using ableton the most to make trap music Fearless Beatz has the most content FL is Ruling trap producing Ableton is ruling EDM music I use Ableton Lite 11 i am limited to 8 tracks
While I agree that record shops got some gems, not everyone has the space or the money to invest in a turntable and some records. Not to mention there aren't many places that have record shops close by. This video is just the foundation and the technique itself, not to mention, UMG.
Yeah, let me just summon a record shop in the middle of nowhere and then with the power of alchemy, Ima just materialize a vinyl player so I can be one with the gods of 'real' sampling. Why you even on an Ableton tutorial? Don't tell me you're using a DAW. I thought you advocate REAL sampling. So shouldn't you be using hardware samplers like an MPC? Lmao, why you here?
bro making trap beats is not easy people only think because they practicing a genre (like trap )from many years and its obvious when they shift to another genre its not easy to make beats. 😂
You are talented but respectfully you have so many more fundamentals you need to learn about the CULTURE of boom bap beats and the tropes that make it taboo. Do the knowledge or don’t try to teach people how to make these type of beats and use your influence to saturate this pure art form.
''not as many producers can make great boombap'' you're dissing a whole generation of great producers who created boombap and pioneered hiphop to what it is now

rappers always like the beats I find the shittiest personally, so another tip is don't trust that much on your own peronal judgement.
Not all tracks have a chorus or chorus section, just make it yours and thats all that matters
Idk man - I'm here to make instrumental hip hop, not rap
@@303Flacko_Montana agreed, just make what you enjoy making, don't limit creativity to fit others
Man, the feeling of when you find that perfect sample to use 🔥
nothing else like it!
this.. It just a different feeling..
I'm just starting creating music and your tutorials are awesome dude. Really helping me understand the impact of all the sounds in a beat. Thank you so much man!
Happy to help! Have fun!
Great job! I've been trying to finish many projects in Ableton for over a year now. Thanks to your tutorial, I think I will finish all the beats. I always freeze when stretching and adding variations to my beats. Thank you.

Do you have any other VST's that you'd recommend for bass or would you just go the sample pack route?
Nice and grimy!!! Fire af!!!!!

Hands down, best tut I've seen. Sat through it all and didnt even realize it had been that long lmao
A breath of fresh air not seeing "CHECK THIS ULTIMATE TIP FOR TRAP/DUBSTEP!" Great work! Not a fan of beats and rap music in general but boom bap has always hit me in the right spot though.

Great Video Bro!
i liked this video and i think ill give it a try
How did you do the dip on the volume? The little line bend you did?
Actually one of the craziest beats I've heard in a tutorial video lol
Great video!
Can't stop thinking about "Hat Boob"

fire g!
Thank you so much for the tutorial!!! It really helped me get that boom bap feel. Do you know how to make a record scratch sound effect in Ableton 11?
you could just find a record scratch as a wav file and add it in like anything else
magic fam🔥🔥
Producing this is so much more relaxed
Yessir!
this basssssss bro
nice tutorial
nice perspective mi netoooooooooooooooooo
Where did you get that ableton skin please?
such a legend
Hey man, I downloaded kontact because it seemed so easy and man I can't find anything vst plug ins, it's like the program isn't on my Mac, but I can open up it up
Yo dude what ableton theme are u using?
So sick!!
Amazing Bro
❤🔥❤🔥
Amazing Video.
I appreciate that!
once you get the sample warped and chopped into the right segments, how do you get them onto the keyboard on ableton?
make sure the track you have them on is 'armed' and you should be able to just push the buttons that the chops are on, might have to make sure you're keyboard is in the octave where the chops are as well.
U legend !!
thats dope af but i really wanted to hear the whole beat lol cool af by the way im new here and in producing
keep up the awesome work
This is one of the best sample-based production tutorials!
I can't modulate a track can someone help me ?? I'm still new to Ableton sorry
bro can i use 808 in boom bap beat ?
if it sounds like a long good kick yeah
When i drag the sample down it doesn't do shit and shows me this '🚫' as my mouse. No idea how to fix it, it worked for one moment and then just not anymore
try to convert your sample in wav. and not in mp3.
@@bellringer-kr7fu Yo thanks for the tip, but I converted the DAW to FL studio 🤣 appreciate it either way!
Boombap fiyaa
Thanks
No problem!
is this ableton live? or push?
LIve. Push is a hardware controller you can use to control the Ableton Live software.
BIG'OL NASTY TOM. I died
Rippin Dam
Energy by Digga D uses this sample no?

salut jaime bien la prod , mais tu mets trop souvent les toms ,continu comme ca tes un chef !!!

U got the best tutorials out bro, I swear!
I appreciate that!
Lacks Sol.
kinda sounds like 95 til infinity
Digga D Energy sample
Sorry bro, best way to find sample is on your local record shop ❤️🙏 wouldn't done a boom bap video without mentioning the real art of sampling 😈
While I agree that record shops got some gems, not everyone has the space or the money to invest in a turntable and some records. Not to mention there aren't many places that have record shops close by. This video is just the foundation and the technique itself, not to mention, UMG.

It’s definitely not the best way lmao
Or sample a vinyl record from youtube
Eveything you just said was really dumb and wrong and it also tells me you aint produce foe nobody of any importance
sounds more like lo-fi than boom-bap
I couldn't make the simpler for some reason
foda mano
i swear thats the same sample as energy by digga d
make a kit gg free freeee
bro making trap beats is not easy
people only think because they practicing a genre (like trap )from many years
and its obvious when they shift to another genre its not easy to make beats.
😂
Your sample sounded already sampled.
Thanks. You can acheive that pretty easily using a vinyl distortion plugin like RC20 for example
It clearly was........
sample your voice too its too harsh on youtube😅
U basicly Showed how Drag samples from splice . XD
that tom trash, great vid tho
Nice stuff but why are you shouting bro?!
Copy Paste Producer

You're going to fast
this is not boom bap
''not as many producers can make great boombap'' you're dissing a whole generation of great producers who created boombap and pioneered hiphop to what it is now
Naaah bro he is just saying its harder to make good boombap vs trap, quite the opposite of what ur thinking
Trying to over explain things to sound knowledgeable.
Just do yourself a favor and stop making "Tutorials"..
But we had a good laugh.
😂😂🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
